  1. They'll do custom omlette dishes,  eggs benedict,  a french toast dish,  meusli (cold oatmeal type cereal with raisins and nuts)  and of course fruit plates,  pancakes etc.  .....but always one or two select items that change daily.

  2. You'll have a tough time the first night......after that you can call in the morning and get a reservation.....they will only let you book 730pm and later as everyone goes for 5-530 then takes two hours to begin clearing for next diners.  If you don't get a reservation you'll be given a pager and wait until called.....anytime dining has gotten more difficult over the years as more people are choosing it.  This is why I believe they moved traditional times to 5pm and 715pm to maybe get folks to take traditional again.  We can do 715pm but eating at 830pm is too late for us.  But the first night is a cluster.....unless you get there at 5pm and there will be a long line......then you have to wait until after 730.  Might be a good night to do another venue like Salty Dog or Crown Grill.

  3. We're booked for three cruises in 2019 the first of which is on the Ruby in February.  Just received an email notifying us as to the traditional dining times changing to 5pm and 7:15pm......we've been doing "anytime" dining exclusively but given how it's gotten lately I'm thinking the late 7:15pm traditional makes more sense for anything more than four people.  As it is now unless you get there to eat at 5-530pm you're handed a pager or wait for half hour....or make "reservations" every morning for 730pm anyways......what's the difference.....?  I'm thinking this might be a move to get people away from "anytime" as it's become a mess.  What do you think.....?

  4. Formal night is relative on Princess too......dress up as much or little as you like.  Minimum would be buisness casual.  The adult aft pool is a great space as is the upper deck sunning area behind the sancuary up front.  Enjoy your cruise.....we're aboard her in February.

  5. We were aboard the Ruby in March this year and know it went through a two week dry dock I think in December where it got the Share and Salty Dog put in. So we're sailing her again this coming November down to Mexico and looking at the deck plans it has dates which change depending on when you sail. So is she undergoing some more updates or changes before November...? The new bedding is already installed and we loved it.

  6. We reserved cabin 1141 aft AQ for our first Celebrity experience doing a California coastal Oct. 2017. I'm stumbling upon some threads talking about noise from above at the new Rooftop Terrace with movies or music. Can anyone speak to this issue who might have been there....?? The added cost of an A1 AQ won't be worth it if we have bad noise problems.......thanks in advance.

  7. Forgive me if these questions have been tossed about previously, my wife and I have sailed with RCI, Carnival and Princess over the years. Living on the West Coast has it's challenges finding cruises that leave locally, and next year we found the Infinity is doing some California coastal cruises we're looking into. Having never sailed with Celebrity, we are unsure as to the value of "aqua class" staterooms and the associated perks. Specific to the Infinity which is an older ship although looks like it has been re-worked, could we get some veteran input as to this ship and aqua class amenities please. Thank you in advance.....California cruisers, Long Beach Ca.

  8. We've cruised Carnival three times to Princess about 8.....you'll find Princess ships more "elegant" in style where Carnival might be more Vegas glitz. Carnival has more "fraternity" type pool games (think hairy chest, belly flop, best man legs) where Princess might be more subdued pool games (we saw a golf chipping contest or other male/female challenge games). No more towel animals on Princess. We think the food is good on both lines, broadway type entertainment is good on both....comedians we like Princess. Overall we found Princess to be a better fit for us, their frequent cruiser system is easy to move up and we like the perks.

  9. We were aboard the Ruby last week and our first time as Platinum guests....we loved Skywalkers drinks and the offerings. If we did not like the featured appetizer, the other table with cheeses, veggies and crackers was wonderful. The drinks we got were quite strong other than their so called Margarita one night....all orange juice. We're quite happy with our new perk.
