  1. They showed The Revenant and Inside Out a Pixar movie was cute.....dining room had good offerings, Italian night one time....prime rib, surf and turf (shrimp) no lobster on short sailings.....deserts in Salty Dog we thought were the best.......

  2. Honestly we were all surprised how much motion we were feeling on this little cruise. Seas were a bit rough when we got into open water out of San Diego and all day at sea on Saturday into the evening. Rear of ship in Skywalkers or down in Fusion was pretty bad. Met some new cruisers having a rough time.

  3. So our family is boarding the Inspiration on Friday New Years Day here in Long Beach for our twin sons birthday celebration including his girlfriends family so it's a big group. My question is.....I have read on here about some "chartered" events on these weekend cruises where boarding was very late due to the hoards of drunks the night before not getting their selves out and off the ship the next morning. Never is there more concern for this issue than on New Years Eve, which is the night before this group disembarks the vessel. What do you think....?? Will Carnival be handling this group accordingly....?? Is there a good chance we won't be able to board on time....? It's not fair to the next boarding group if the previous "tenants" can't get up and off the ship on time. We've purchased FTTF before, but in this case I think it might be a waste of $$.

  4. They were playing movies on the big screen at night. I remember it must have been Antman one evening....and there would be football games there too. We had my time dining and ran into this, one could arrive at 530pm or wait until 730pm we were told. Each evening we had a standing reservation for 730pm with our same wait staff as we enjoyed them much. Dining at that time would create issues with some of the show times for us as they were scheduled at 630pm or 830pm, if we really wanted to see the show we'd try to see it at 630.

  5. We're home from our Oct. 18th sailing out of Galveston and I thought I'd give some quick thoughts. Our embarkation was interupted by a medical emergency where they shut down everything. Once that had passed, the large mob/line filed into the terminal. That took around an hour and we were aboard around noon. The ship is beautiful and seems in good shape, having never sailed her. We had superior balconies on deck seven aft of the hump, and they were clean, the closet arrangement across from the bathroom door created some issues for us, shower water pressure was minimal but temp was good. One evening all water pressure stopped while my wife was taking her shower, and was restored in a few minutes. That same day the desalinization system for drinking water had failed, and they tried to pass off salty nasty water to everyone including the crew. We dined at Chops that night and they poured the awful water to us, which we rejected so they comped us Evian, the coffee was undrinkable that night....we purchased a cup at Starbucks. Food in the dining room was quite good, with our servers Leonardo and Rommel keeping us in laughs and a great experience. Weather at all ports Cozamel, Grand Cayman and Falmouth was wonderful, just missing three days of rain....though our first day at sea was quite rough prompting sea sick bags being deployed. Then we were a bit delayed getting back into Galveston with the hurricane Patricia coming through...it was an adventure driving to Bush Int. for our flight home, but we made it on time. Entertainment on board varied, some nights we didn't find anything we enjoyed, but overall it was a great cruise experience. The thing about the bad drinking water was we would have liked to have honest information coming from the staff, not just talking about it with other guests. Any questions I'll try to help with......

  6. So in our case last Monday, only about three tenders were able to get off the ship....we had no idea they were attempting to call us back, and continued our day, having a nice lunch with margaritas. It was around 1230pm when we went to terminal to go back. When we got to the ship the pool crowd had been stuck on ship drinking all day. The pool had been empty and netted from the time everyone boarded on Sunday. The situation was ripe for a mutany....I was enjoying a cigar in the smoking area when the crowd started chanting "we want a pool".....loudly. Apparently two drunken guys jumped into the nets with no water....security and officers came on deck. Shortly after then they began filling the pool. No fault of Carnival that they had to stop tendering for safety reasons. If we had not had early plans on the island we'd have been stuck too. We happen to be on the Inspiration boarding New Years Day for our twin sons 21st birthday celebration.....I'm scared.

  7. Review is coming but just figured I'd put out some highlights or lowlights. We got FTTF and thought it was a good value, on right after the suite/priority folks, cabin ready and luggage there imediately. We were eating lunch at noon. The food quite good in dining room, buffet is as expected. The ship has problems, no pool first two days, Catalina stopped tendering early due to wind so nasty drunken crowd shouting "we want a pool" with drunken men jumping into the net with no water forced them to fill the pool around 4pm. The "serenity" area in back heard grinding metal power equipment noises every day, rediculous...it was not serene by any stretch. If the vessel has that many maintenance issus then dry dock it for two weeks and fix it all. Our cabin was ready when we boarded, but there was a big blower in the room as if the carpet had to be cleaned...no smells though. Service was quite good overall, friendly faces and attitudes. Ask any questions......

  8. We were on board last November.....it has no smoking lounge....we had to go up on deck and smoke with the cigarette folks after 7pm....but at least we could go there. Last Princess ship we were on they would only let us smoke cigars in their smoking lounge off the casino, but the ventilation in there was so bad it was difficult to breathe....very bad. We could not smoke cigars up on deck with the cigarette folks.....I was not pleased.

  9. Not familiar with Carnivals "anytime" dining system....my wife and I are boarding the Imagination in 9 days. Am I correct in thinking that when we get on board we should go down/up to the dining room and set up our first nights dining time....? Is there a dining line to call for this....? On RCI we would call in the morning and set up our evenings dining time. Thanks for the help.....

  10. We're two couples going on the Navigator in mid October. Now I realize the RCI website sucks from our last Oasis cruise last November, so yesterday I was on there trying to get our "my time" dining reservations set for the four of us. Per my expectations, the site would not link our two bookings for the reservation. I remember from the Oasis that one does not want to book any times from 6pm to say 7:15pm....we would show up at our 6:30 time and sit and wait for long time. They eventually told us that at that time all tables are full from the 5:30 bookings, makes sense. We benefitted more than twice getting comped at Izumi and Solarium because they could not seat us. So yesterday I booked 7:45pm all week, and our friends are going to have to see if they can link us with them when they try. Has anyone else had any luck with this.....??

  11. My wife and I board the Imagination in three weeks for the four day....I just read the most current review that the condition of the pool was "green". They closed it for Ensenada port day, opened it for sea day but it turned green again. Sad to think we won't have a pool to use during our cruise. Has anyone heard anything.....?? Thanks

  12. The thing about Oasis/Allure is....there are so many other options for dining, this was the first cruise we've ever done where we never set foot in there. It was weird.....one day we walked through just to get a look. With Park Café, the Solarium upstairs, Pizza and the other one down on Promenade, we didn't have to go to buffet. We did try the dining room one morning for breakfast and it was terrible. Very slow service and the food was cold and not good. But the Park Café and Solarium saw us constantly.

  13. So I guess the soda pop is OK because one can't tamper with a sealed can....it's very sad that the company had to go to this extent to stop the smuggling. We went ahead and purchased a bottle of alcohol with mixers on line, just checking if we might be able to take any other mixers on with us for variety. Thanks for your answers.......
