  1. We are interested in travelling from Europe to North America in 2017 via Iceland (or the reverse) but NOT via the Atlantic south of the UK.

It seems that cruises E-I-NA all return to Europe from Iceland before crossing the Atlantic.

Are there any cruise lines that do the direct route beside Princess who I know does? I will see what Princess has to offer for 2017 but the price for 2016 was far more than the price for 2015. The reverse trip NA-I-E was prohibitive in 2016.

    Thanks

  2. My wife & I are looking forward to our next cruises in 46 days time, back to back, Quebec-Boston-Quebec. Why? We have been on "4" earlier cruises, or "7" if you count BtB and BtBtB cruises separately!! This pair fit our bill perfectly, 10 different ports (Quebec counted, as we overnight and will do an excursion) in 14 days. So we get to see lots of different places and have only 2 sea days.

We take an excursion at every port so we get to see something of the surroundings with a local view from the tour guide. Our favourites are half day ones so we get time to walk round the port too. Then my wife can "window" shop and I can "bank surf" when in US and Canadian ports. I am a coin collector and buy coins from one bank and then sell them in another!! I also find "free WiFi", not always easy but thanks Starbucks!!

We like sea days too so we can be lazy and refresh for the next group of ports. It also allows my wife to play some bridge, usually, and I can sort coins and write emails/reports for when we are next in port with free time.

We love the "Freestyle Dining" on Norwegian as we can share a table in the serviced restaurants and get to talk to so many different people. Hope we find people wanting to share while on the Dawn, it is not always possible as we eat early so my wife can get to the early show.

Hope to meet more lovely people and see lots of lovely sights in the North East; a long way from New Zealand.

    Mike
