So. 9:15 PM show in Lyric last night. Invitation to Dance. Ten minutes after start of performance. In comes fellow cruiser with stack of plates with lids. Hands them down a row. Picnic ensues. Tonight was pizza night in the theater. Two different performances. Mini pizza parties. Getting strong Chastain vibes from Royal. (Atlanta reference. Great venue.)

Ignoring this. The performances were entertaining. Really talented musicians, singers, dancers.

Another interesting afternoon at the pool. Drinks in women's restroom. (Yes, someone took their mojito into their stall.)

Dinner Italian night. Not a fan. My family is Italian. Would have selected steak, but Chops is tomorrow night.

Ice show at 10:15 P.M. cancelled some technology issues.

Love and Marriage with emcee "Crusin' Susan" (I have no opinion on cruise directors, but she's humorous). Fun show. Left wondering if one of the couples worked out a routine just for the show.

Having such a good time we booked Oasis back to back next year. Next Cruise this morning. Yes, no deal, a measly $50.00 onboard credit.  Ben and David talked us into it. Their YouTube video several weeks ago. Pondering prior to this cruise. Quirky fellow cruisers, varied food quality aside; the service from the very hard working crew shines.

Stop by the trailer park when able (perhaps I missed the obvious, and you wrote this from there lol).

Is this an attempt at humor? Weak.

Not at all.  If ya just wanna pay postage, you're welcome to ours.  They are indeed a big deal to some, as is readily displayed onboard.  Perhaps I offended you w/ the 'be friendly' comment?  If so, I apologize....just continue on as normal.

I don’t understand all of the fuss! Just take a Wicker basket. I throw all my clothes somewhere near it and 2 days later they all appear clean and folded in the drawer? 🤷‍♂️

This is truly amazing....When I get onboard, I cruise the ship/get a couple drinks/relax/etc, and when I get to our room, I magically have clothes that are all the proper size hanging and in drawers.  They even look remarkably similar to those at home.

Upon arriving home, as long as I go out and have fun and don't attempt to accomplish anything in the house, it appears nothing has been touched since we departed (clothes/ship games/etc).  Only occasionally is there a suitcase that needs to be put away.

I've determined the key to this whole process is to be uninvolved, unstressed, and inattentive.  Life is good.

Late night at sea and we watched what appeared to be a large drone on starboard side flying for several minutes.

Whatever it was kept pace about 30 feet away from the ship….. curious to what it was…. maybe too much happy hour 😊

By definition....if it was flying, and you don't know what is was, it was an UFO.

This makes me recall growing up with the Love Boat and conversations with my husband after our first cruise regarding cruise attire and how no one, and I mean no one was walking around the lido deck in their swimwear and high heels.

Certainly one area that is so much better in today's times.

  6. The only people that should be stressing are those who create stress/thrive on it. Either a) book the cabin you desire, or b) book a cabin you can live with, and bid what you'd like for a cabin offered thru royalup. Extremely simple, but some will do all they can to make it difficult.

Would you rather know that you are being recorded (larger camera) or not know that you are being recorded (smaller camera)?

Now that might cause some to second guess cruising w/ the secretary...

They were asked to stop and some thought they were mistreated.  They chose to debark early rather than remain until the end of the cruise.  EM

    Perfect ending.

Yes, we were in the same frame of mind for 50 years of cruising. Now in the twilight of our years we no longer find the destinations of any interest. Have discovered that there exists a charm, an idyllic beauty that exists from afar. Upon closer examination one finds disappointment around every corner. The tour guides, taxi driver guides, the people, would all trade places with you in an instant. Now our focus is ship, cabin, food, and treatment on board. Covid woke us up to our impending fates. I get it - we've done the grand suite on Grandeur (we could do 5 more and still wouldn't total 30k).  Won't be an issue anyway, as 5 YC experiences for 30k is a way better value for us.

I guess you missed my posting of the chair hogs on the "luxury" Regent Grandeur last week. We get a reserved pergola on the One Pool deck for our $10,000 Royal Suite on the Seascape and got NO special treatment on any sun deck on the Grandeur for $30,000 Grand Suite.

Paying 30k for a grand suite on the Grandeur should include special treatment...to visit a shrink.

Why can't they dress in long pants and shirts?

Nicely done - Was about to say this thread is a bit benign and perhaps we should move on to a tipping discussion, but you may have saved the day!

Would it really matter if the ship was an hour or two late leaving port if the next day is a sea day?

And where would they draw 'the line'?  What if it was an hour or two plus only another 30min? Or four hours late...that's only a couple hours beyond the 'new' acceptable couple hours.  Airlines and trains hold to pretty tight departure times when able....are ships not afforded a schedule as well?  Let them incur expenses of additional port fees/increased fuel burn to make of time/etc due to stragglers?  I get the sentiment, but there's also practicality.
