  1. I don't know if they can get the money back. Our travel agent just made our complimentary grandfathered in specialty dinner reservation at Murano yesterday for our Aug cruise. It doesn't show up on the web site but she sent a confirmation from Celebrity showing it and the excursion and Tuscan Grille reservations I had made and paid for myself. Under Credit Card Number for Murano it just says Payment Pending versus the last 4 digits of number used for excursion and other dinner. She said she'd keep an eye on it for us as it's a little funny with being grandfathered.

  2. Just in case you are not aware, there are specialized threads on each port stop and cruisers post all sorts of information, recommendations, and Q&A's on port stops and you might find what looking for there - and more.

Could you please share the link for the Victoria thread? I haven't been able to find it. thanks!

  3. Sis has been talking about bringing a glass container to make her tea in... said she doesn't actually need sun to make sun tea but doesn't think plastic will cut it... although I think she'll be experimenting with that... plastic would be a lot safer to transport. It always amazes me how many glasses of iced tea she can down in a meal if it's good tea. I can see her bringing her own pitcher to Luminae. :-)

When on vacation in the Caribbean I've been known to up my alcohol consumption and drink a rum drink most every day, but I don't need to have alcohol with my meals. I don't have an educated wine palate and prefer dessert wines, the sweeter the better, so a glass at MC after early dinner would be about perfect.

  4. Jenna,

    Thanks so much for responding!

We had cruise + $300 OBC + unlimited internet, all from Celebrity.

Cruise is now $600 more in price and would just get drink package and gratuities added that we don't already have. As gratuities are $230 it would be $370 for just the drink package, if that math is correct.

We're both fine with tap water for lunch and dinner. Sis will probably be brewing her own iced tea in the cabin... she won't drink the stuff from the machines. Neither of us drinks coffee drinks or soda. As we get complimentary espresso/cappucino in the suite perhaps we could ask for bottled water to be subbed instead.

  5. We're one of the CS suites cruising Aug without any drink package. But my sister doesn't drink any alcohol and I only about twice a month so the 5:30-8 time if that's what it is now limited to (and I think that's the same wording they had months ago when we booked despite it being all day in practice) will be more than enough. I'm just hoping I can still take away bottled water during the day. I read they had San Pellegrino and I've now tried it and like it!

We booked CS mainly for the separate bedroom - good to be able to get away from each other during the week and still be in PJs in the cabin - and more space. I'm a little bummed MC won't be as exclusive and quiet. But this is our first cruise so we don't have any baseline to compare. I'm expecting we'll have wonderful service. Our TA said she'd make sure we still get the speciality dinner that was part of CS level when we booked.

She looked into rebooking us but we had booked with a prior promotion and with the price increase we'd end up paying $370 more just to get the additional benefit of the drinks package (after subtracting the paid gratuities amount from the increase). Not worth it.

  6. I appreciate all the comments. I would like to surprise her but had thought if necessary would have gotten some that morning to carry on with us. But sounds like there should be no problem getting flowers brought to the suite.

For myself at home I love the inexpensive astromeria at Whole Foods. I have to keep them high up on a shelf away from one of my plant eating cats, both of whom I will miss.

    thanks again!

  7. My sister and I are taking a trip for our birthday next year. Is there a florist on board from whom I could order a vase of cut flowers for our suite to surprise her? I thought it might be too troublesome to carry a bouquet on with us.

  8. You'll be on her first...we sail August 19, 2016

So excited to find someone else who will be on our cruise! There doesn't seem to be a roll call for it yet.

I'm new on cruise critic although I've been reading for a while.

My twin sister and I will be in a Celebrity Suite, first cruise for both,

my first time to Alaska, celebrating a major birthday the day we leave Seattle.

I live Baltimore/she Seattle and we considered Vancouver cruises but went for

the convenience of free place to stay before/after and my BIL to drop us off and pick us up.

She said she was fine without Glacier Bay. We've booked the catamaran Tracy Arm excursion.
