Nothing really new here.
Most likely the same or similar protocols for NCL, Celebrity, RCL & Azamara?

What is the source of your "Recent Article" Sounds like "fake news" to me. I think news like that should include the source before scaring people

do not believe it is “ Fake News”

It depends on the ship.
One of the reasons I am a fan of the Vista and especially Signature Class ships is the abundance of elevators especially mid-ship with the glass enclosed elevators (I also like the signature suites).
Accommodating scooters is another challenge for cruise ship elevators.- 1

The Cruise on YouTube. I believe there are six seasons and the show is shot on Princess ships.

My wife and I are 57, have over 40 cruises with the most sailings on Princess (17) but the most nights on Celebrity due to a couple of fall Europe to US sailings, an Auckland to Sydney cruise and a 14 night Med/Israel cruise. After a 10+ year pause we went on the Westerdam in 2017 in a Signature Suite and have been on two additional HAL sailings in Signature Suites. We like the Vista and Signature Class ships & our next HAL booking is on the N. Statendam in April 2021 which I expect to be cancelled due to the pandemic. We like the Signature Suites, hydro pool and speciality dining on HAL.
My first cruise was on Home Lines Oceanic when I was 13 and then sailed on Sitmar Lines Fairwind both classic liners with great service. While I have fond memories of those ships, that is the past and I am more interested in the future.
In the future I would love to see HAL:
- upgrade the technology and WiFi on the ships. Can add a medallion type system and additional viewing choices on the interactive television
- do away with formal/gala whatever nights please
- end assigned seating for dinner
- expand the music walk/Rolling Stones Rock Room to the Vista and Signature ships. Also utilize the Ocean Bar better with some jazz or acoustic music
- have some live music outside (possibly by aft pool) during the day
- make the ships non-smoking as Celebrity has done

Seems quite accurate, in my opinion. HAL does have more long (14 nights or more) sailings that are not back to back than many other lines and the average age is higher than many other lines.
I do think 5-7 night cruises from Ft. Lauderdale to Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Amber Cove and Mahogany Run could appeal some people, if priced correctly.

To me more evidence that there will be no sailings from any US ports in 2020.

I can not see the Regal being sold however there are 4 Princess ships over 20 years old (Grand, Sun, Sea and Pacific) which I could see going away.

Regarding Tampa, I am confused why the Vista Class or Signature Class ships are too large, especially since Celebrity is/was deploying one of their M- Class ships, which I believe are equal size or slightly larger than the HAL ships, to Tampa?

And the new HAL begins.
It sure does. Covid-19 is going to make President Gus’s restructuring of HAL much easier. Formal/elegant evenings.... possibly gone. Twice daily housekeeping....possibly gone (enhanced cleaning takes labor). Could the Volendam be next up? -
My opinion all four are being sold.
I can not see a World Cruise sailing for a few years. A vaccine needs to be developed, tested and deployed.

My understanding is that ALL HAL cruises are shut down through November 30th. I really do not expect anything before January
of 2021, sad to say.
Looking at the current data (increase in cases in the US, especially in South Florida; border restrictions around the world; world wide economic disruption; ships currently spread around the world along with major hurdles getting crews to/from the ships) I can not see how any North America cruises depart before 2021 and certainly not any HAL sailings around the world, especially the longer 14+ night sailings.

Keep the ships smaller, the entertainment and facilities aimed toward us older cruisers.
This president will have the same issues as the past president and that is attracting new customers and focusing on the future, not the past
Let’s assume Gus was interviewed by various people/groups within corporate Carnival. Do you really think his vision laid out in interviews for the position is re-creating the past? Prioritizing the wishes of the 75-85 year old loyal cruiser vs. the wishes of a 45-55 year old new cruiser? He, like Mr. Ashford and his team has to implement a strategy to hit/exceed revenue, profit and customer service goals. I doubt having a product and environment from 1992 is going to accomplish those goals.

Southwest has opened its schedule into January.
Are ships it’s going to start boarding later & sail later than the normal 4-5 afternoon departures? I have to think sanitation will be emphasized
quite a bit.

Less long cruises (over 14 days) and certainly fewer Around the World sailings.

I cancelled the May Caribbean cruise my wife and I were booked on this morning and for me yesterday's events (Grand, Royal and now Regal Princess along with the Carnival ship) sealed the deal for me. We are both in our 50's, have over 40 cruises so have been to all the ports multiple times and was looking forward to a week or R&R. Not a potential week of worry and confusion.

It’s been since 2018 since I last sailed on a Princess ship but unless it has already changed go back to individual containers of milk (not stuff pre-poured), juices and wrapped butters. Thank you Princess.

For all the virtual cruise CEO’s on Cruise Critic if the Europe and or Med season deteriorates more over the next week do some ships stay in North America vs doing their Eastern TA in late March/early April?

If these guidelines are incorporated HAL might be able to start with one ship, from Ft. Lauderdale to Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Amber Cove and possibly Mahogany Bay, Roatan.
