Was just in Grand Bahama a couple of days ago, and yes, they have broken ground. The island is large and the new port will be miles from the existing one in Freeport.

Apparently Carnival just broke ground for a new port on Grand Bahama, so that may be the end of some of the pristine areas we went to.

There is a lot to do on Freeport, but generally not through the cruise line. We did a small 5 hour tour (total of 6 people) - snorkel in 2 locations, then see some turtles, and then lunch. Didn't see anything that resembled a ship tour.

This turned out to be our tour boat, but a GREAT tour in Freeport today!
