  1. We have done the Legend Steak house more than 3 times, and was hoping to do the Pride on our Feb trip. I find the food well worth the 35$, but I was hoping they would keep it adults only..

I'm sure most children would be quiet and calmly eat, but there are always a few, cranky, tired, or want to do something else that will create havoc.

    Will see what happens.

  2. I personally am not a fan of the "twinsie" look but if your sister is okay with it then go for it. You could be wasting a lot of money on clothes she may not enjoy and will possibly never wear again. I very reluctantly wore matching family shirts for our trip to Disneyland this spring. I only agreed to do it on one day as I have my personality and felt ridiculous.

No, I don't think so, we have the exact same taste in clothes, food, books, everything except men. lol Luckily we are both happily married. I've already sent photos of all our outfits to her, and she is happy not to have to worry about what clothes she must take. We are not matchy-matchy, but the same style certainly. She is a lot of fun, and that will help me recover more. We aren't "dining room people" and will enjoy lido for sure. I still have difficulty eating a whole meal, my stomach is very small, and I have to graze all day, mostly. She is ok with that. So, thanks for the input everybody, I will keep all your advise in mind while enjoying our Carnival cruise.

I think the best part will be showing all our photos to our Mom and Dad on our return. They will get a kick out of it also. They are in their late 80s and due to health issues, don't cruise any more..

  3. She thinks it would be fun, now I'm disappointed. We live 1000 miles apart and rarely get to see each other. I might have to rethink this, we are 55 and 66.

I don't understand why you would be embarrassed. What am I missing? We couldn't give a fig what others think, just don't want to be laughed at. Smiles, yes.

btw, if it makes any difference, I dress very well.

  4. So, last year, I went through gastric cancer, and am still recovering. My sister flew out and helped take care of me, using up her only vacation from work last year.

So this year, I decided to take us both on a cruise. Now, we are so much alike you would think we were twins. I am 10 years and 2 months older. She will pay for nothing except her flight to Charleston. I've also informed her she didn't need to worry about clothes, as I've arranged matching outfits for every day and night for both of us. She will be returning home with quite a wardrobe, everything from jacket to PJ's, has been provided by me. She will be bringing her undies and whatever she wears on the plane.. Already have most of our clothes and shoes arranged and I am ready to go!

I think this will be so much fun, is this crazy or what??

Yes, luckily after losing over 65 lbs, we are almost the same size now, give or take 15-20 lbs..

Yes, this might be extreme, but I love my sister.

  5. So glad your still going! I'm recovering from chemo and gastric cancer, and I'm still going. My recommendation is call Special-needs-at-sea and rent a wheel chair if he doesn't have one. It will really help, usually I was good until about mid afternoon, then pooped, it really helped to be able to sit.

Hope you have a great trip, these memories will eventually be priceless.

  6. "Hogging" is when you are "saving" a space for future use. If the group is USING the area, they are using it and not "hogging" it!

This. Sound perfectly reasonable to me. Enjoy your cruise. I suspect the babies won't be in there long, as it gets very noisy and they might need quiet to nap.

  7. If you make sure to carry off your own luggage, it shouldn't be a problem. (hopefully). The problem might be, say you get off the ship at 9, and out of the terminal by 9:15, a conservative estimate, then the airport by 9:45, on a good day, will that leave the required amount of time at the airport before your flight? Getting off before 9, might be very iffy. I've cruised from the Charleston port 9 times, and my 10th will be my upcoming cruise on Ecstasy on Sept 3.. yep, we will be with you!!

I hope it all works out for you!

  8. One of my favorite designers is Skullz London. check out her website, she designs lovely clothing for "fluffy" ladies. I used to be fluffy,, but was sick and lost 65 lbs, now I am boney..

Really lovely fabrics and designs. Just thought I would throw that out there. Google her, the website will come up..

  9. So, for another perspective on this,

I was a fluffy person, and then 2015 happened. I walked off of the Fantasy after a 10 day cruise and into the hospital where I was diagnosed with Gastric cancer. 9 weeks of chemo, 33% of my stomach removed another 6 weeks of chemo and I nearly starved to death before they got my throat to quit closing. Now I have to force myself to eat, and am 65 lbs lighter, and a really thin (read boney here) 145 lbs. I am 6 ft tall. It is hard for me to get enough calories in to not lose weight.

Be glad you are fluffy and healthy! It could be so much worse.

p.s. on the plus and minus side, I've had to get rid of almost all my clothes and buy new, right down to my underwear. My shoes still fit. I also spent nearly the whole year bald.

Now, get it together, get healthy, get plenty of exercise, and enjoy the skin you are in!

  10. Yeti's are so worth it.. well, not being cursed, but the price you have to pay for them. lol Seriously, so sorry someone took it.

I will make sure not to take mine cruising.

    My Husband loves his too.

Just for the folks that wonder why we love them so much, a cup of piping hot coffee poured at 8am will still be hot at noon... no, really, it will. I am sure it would keep cold drinks super cold a really long time too, just haven't tried it yet with mine. I'm sure its the reason the Yeti ice chests start around 300$ too.

  11. Here is my key point. The longer I'm on a cruise the better, weather a really long one or B2Bs, it works for me.

The only downside I can see about B2B's is on the turnaround day, a bit boring. Although you do have the ship to yourself for awhile you get the fun of watching everyone come aboard.

If it was me, and I had the time and funds, it would be B2Bs all the way.

Especially if I had to fly in at that cost..

  12. The soles of my shoes disintegrated as I was walking to the dining room on one cruise. I was literally leaving a trail of rubber as I walked. I ended up taking them off and going to dinner in my socks. Some crew member must have been watching our group talk about my shoes and taking pictures of the trail I was leaving because about 10 minutes into dinner a pair of rental shoes were brought to me with a note that they saw what happened and thought I might appreciate these for the night. They had fished the shoes out of the garbage can I used in the bathroom to get the size.

Dark socks are probably good enough. :D

How kind of these crew members. That is so touching. What a nice thing to do.

  13. The all aboard time will be posted in the Fun Times -- read it. It will be posted on the gangway as you depart the ship -- remember it. It doens't matter if there is a standard '30 or 60' minute rule. The rule is whatever time is stated by the captain on that day for that port!!

    This.. always..

We hate the long line getting back on so we almost always go back an hour (at least) early.

It only takes one time watching a "runner" to remember. Make sure you stay on ships time also.

  14. I would not worry about it, just get the keys changed after you board. You both will have to be there, or better yet, just get a second key made for each room. Done. Your welcome. You might have a bit of a problem when tallying up the charges aboard for each of you, but that should work out. Hope you feel better soon..

  15. It usually pops up right after booking with a countdown clock and the offer is only good for 24 or 48 hours. We took advantage of this last week and booked cabanas at HMC, GT, and Amber Cove and saved $125.

I took advantage of this also, and booked a cabana at HMC and the submarine excursion in Nassau. pretty much got the Nassau thing free. That works.

  16. We are going for the first time with a cabana - in June!! Any recommendations for choice of of cabana location??

My vote would be Cabana 10. Good luck getting it. Just far enough away from the crowds, and close to the rest rooms. I loved it. I'm going again, and trying to get the same one. Watch out for the tiny birds trying to eat your snacks.. lol.
