  1. My wife and I are in our early 70s with 30 cruises taken.  Not as many as many of you but a lot for us.  We do not care for mega ships, although we have sailed on Allure and Wonder.  Had a great time on both, just too big and crowded, especially on sea days.  We prefer Princess over Celebrity, we think the ships are decorated more to our taste.  Have no plans on sailing the new class of Princess ships though, getting big for us and from the few reviews I have read they are not great.

    Anyway these are our thoughts.

  2. We sailed Wonder 2 years ago, my grandson has Celiac disease.  My son went to Head Waiter first day, he said to speak with our waiter at dinner.  Any thing on the menu can be made gluten free, but you must order a day ahead and cannot get seconds if you want.  My grandson was in heaven and ordered whatever he wished including dessert.  Worked well

  3. We have two ways to keep track of luggage.  First there is an AirTag in each piece of checked luggage, this way we can track where it is.  Second we have bright orange rubber tags with our last name initial on it attached to the handle.  Very easy to identify.

  4. This is a short review of our cruise.  I would be glad to answer questions.

Embarkation day arrived about 10:45, porters took the luggage and we went in the building.  Cleared security quickly and went to a waiting room before getting on the ship.  They did not check our embarkation arrival times.  They started boarding at 11:15.

We had a bump out cabin 8267, by the elevator bank.  Best location, kind of a private hallway for the people on the bump out.

    Positives from the cruise:

Crew was so helpful and friendly.

Food quality was very good, both ocean view cafe and MDR.

    Enterainment, Production shows were great.

    ship well maintained.

    Negatives:

Food variety in MDR.  Only few selections for starters and entrees.

Cost to go to specialty restaurants.

  5. I have only sailed once with Celebrity on the Equinox.  We are Platinum with Princess.  Our one experience was not a pleasant one with Celebrity, wait staff in MDR were below avg, dirty dishes left on table most nights too long.  Entertainment just avg.  we are sailing on Silhouette in January, trying again.  As of now though I would choose Princess over Celebrity.

  6. We were on RCCL last July, my grandson has Celiac.  Our travel agent contacted the cruise line and also told us to see head waiter once we get to the ship.  Our experience was very positive.  The first day was iffy, but after that it was fantastic.  As others said he received menu for next night to choose his meal.  They said anything can be made gluten free as long as they are aware ahead of time.  Also in the buffet, always contacted a chef that made gluten free food, this was in addition to what was already there and listed as gluten free.  Hopefully Celebrity is as good as RCCL.

  7. Just saw this review, so I am commenting on the original comments.  We agree that boarding is very quick, with having all info on the app.  With that said, we are not fans of having to get all the data prepared before arriving at the terminal.  My wife and I are in our early 70s and not real tech savvy.  Having to take security photos and upload, upload passports, etc. is a very frustrating process.  All cruise lines do this now, what happened to customer service and making it an enjoyable experience for passengers.  Maybe we are in the minority, maybe not, but that is our opinion.

  8. First, we are loyal to Princess and RCCL.  Took one Celebrity cruise, 2022.  We were disappointed.  Ship decor was just ok, food good, service not good.  Example of the service, we stopped at the World bar on the way to a show to pick up a water and the workers told us to go elsewhere for the water.

Going to give Celebrity another chance in 2024, price was too good to pass up and we get out of midwestern weather in January.  Hopefully a better experience.

  9. My wife and I disembarked the ship the day you arrived.  I agree food quality was very good i main dining room.  The issue we had was selection of items, at least three days could not find anything that really interests us.

very few people were wearing masks, but many people coughing, sneezing and blowing nose.  We did not get sick but couple we traveled with did get colds.  They brought home Covid test kits with them and tested negative.

Overall very nice and relaxing trip.
