Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Was on the 6.18.23 sailing and I hardly saw adults in jeans either. FYI
  2. No, no children that I saw wore shorts, they adhered to the dress code. We just sailed on Summit to Bermuda on June 18th with a 4 year old and a 10 year old. My daughter, the younger, was always in a sundress, bows in hair and "fancy" dresses on the two dressier nights (she called them fancy but they weren't anything over-the top). The 10 year old boy wore short sleeved button downs (think J Crew) and chinos in pink, blue, cream, etc. with boat shoes, driving mocs, etc. I think the issue for a lot of people who are replying to your post is that it seems just by posing the question, you're trying to see what you can get away with. If others aren't sticking to the dress code, then maybe you don't have to either. If they don't follow the rules, then I don't need to either. Again, seems that way from the back and forth I've read above and maybe that's why you aren't getting as much/type of feedback you're looking for.
  3. May I ask what date? I was on the June 18th sailing on Summit to Bermuda, and didn't find any issues really. It was my 8th Summit to Bermuda cruising and I have to say that it was just as enjoyable as in the past. The ONE critique I have is for the cabin attendant who regularly did not set up the beds as we wanted (I had a family veranda) and wasn't as available as I'd like, but in her defense, our week was her first sailing. Other than that, the staff was super attentive and the guests that we were around anyway, were pleasant and polite. So sorry to hear this was your experience.
  4. Why do you think it is not a good idea? Any insights would be appreciated.
  5. Thanks so much everyone! I’m traveling with my four year old and I’m not sure it’s even a good idea. But I’ll certainly keep an eye out for my invite! Thank you!
  6. Hi all. On past Celebrity Summit cruises from NJ to Bermuda, Captain's Club members were invited to a send-off party on the helipad of the ship while leaving NJ and sailing through the harbor. I called Celebrity and the rep I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about. Does anyone know if they still do this? Thanks!
  7. Sailing again on Summit in a few weeks and personally, the charge for room service doesn't bother me. In general, people are wasteful. I dont know how many times I've seen trays of uneaten food outside cabins. It's awful. If $9 makes people pause and think a little more before they go hog wild, I think it's a good thing!
  8. I've been on Summit several times (8x), going again in two weeks, all to Bermuda. They've always had poolside parties, but never a 'white night'. That sounds super fun though! Maybe I'll pack accordingly just in case! 😉
  9. Unfortunately, no it’ll be too many guests. But I think the veranda category opened w some availability this AM!!
  10. That's EXACTLY what I'm thinking!! LOL I know, I know..
  11. The problem with that though, is that if something higher than an Oceanview doesn't open up and they don't want to sail in the oceanview, they'll lose the entire fare. It's within final payment window so there are no refunds.
  12. Right, that makes sense. Does anyone have any experience with rooms opening up last minute?
  13. Hi all! I am booked in a family veranda (I think they're now called Deluxe Veranda) stateroom on the 6.18 sailing on Summit to Bermuda. To make a VERY long story short, we've had some news in our family that's made two other family members now want to book on the trip too. The problem is, there are only Oceanview rooms available at this late date and that will not work for them. I've bid on a suite upgrade in the hope that maybe I'll get that, and then they could book my current cabin, I am checking the website hourly to see if anything opens up but so far nothing. I was told by one agent that their revenue dept. does hold some cabins in reserve, but another told me this sailing is sold out and they do not. Sometimes I log on and the website says "Check other dates" under a particular cabin type, other times it says "Sold out". So my question is... does anyone have any experience with cabins opening up very last minute before a sailing? Is that common? And/or does anyone know how I may be able to secure a veranda or higher cabin for my family on this sailing? Thank you SO MUCH for any tips, hints, tricks, etc.!
