  1. Does Carnival offer anything like NCL or MSC as far as suites? I see you can book suites and grand suites. Are there any perks other than cabin size and priority boarding? (Ie...exclusive sundeck or dinning room?) I know it varies based on ship I am sure but what if you know any that include these can you tell me what ship?

  2. The first day, when I met Maria, I had asked her for a lighter weight blanket, I don't like anything heavy on me.;p

There are no blankets, she said. That seemed so unlikely to me, but, I accepted it.

The next day, I meant to ask her for an extra top sheet, that I could use as a lightweight blanket, but, I forgot.

When I returned from the White Party, I found this on my bed.

Another MSC backpack. I do use these though, when I go to the beach, when I travel at home. I have found them very handy.

There was also this, with my cabin number on it.

It was something rolled up, something fleecy. Wait! Could it be a blanket?

It was! And, it was huge!

Was Maria exhibiting that can-do attitude I was hoping for? But, why was my cabin number on it? Could it be a prize from the Morning Show? They said they were giving away t-shirts, though...

Either way, I was thrilled, it was perfect and I had no idea how it was going to fit in my suitcase.

I watched the Morning Show the next day and I had indeed won! They sent the prize before they even announced the winners.

I got into bed every night with my MSC blanket and I was so happy! Surely, this was serendipity at its finest!

How did you win? What do we have to do to try to win? My girls would think this was the coolest thing ever! For some reason blankets are a top hit at our house right now!! Maybe their age??

  3. Looking at taking the cruise ship excursion to Vivo Beach for the day. I can not however find any recent reviews on the experience. All of the trip advisor reviews are from 2017 pre hurricane season. Does anyone have any info they could share? Thanks in advance!

  4. Looking to book our excursions for our upcoming cruise. We stop in San Juan and we’re thinking about the Vivo Beach Day. However I can not find much online about it since last years hurricanes. All the reviews on trip advisor and cc were from early 2017. Anyone have any idea how it is now post horrible hurricane season?

  5. Do the cruises cost the same through a ta? My husband and I were talking about this the other night. We always book ourselves. I wondered what the benefit was?

  6. Loved this! So many are so quick to point out the bad but don’t take the time to give the props when they are deserved!

    Quick ?

Your wife was able to get rum for the mini bar? We are rum people and I was disappointed when I was told it wasn’t an option for the mini bar. Hoping you have better news for me!!

  7.

We loved the jungle pool. There was a lot of room and the pools felt small enough for the kids to easily swim across. Many kids had floats and goggles. I didn’t see dive sticks, but I’m sure they would be okay. The Miami Beach pool had a cool waterfall area in the back.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Can I ask what kind of floats kids had? Just getting my packing lists together!

  8. In Europe pools are for swimming, not for standing. In the Netherlands 95% op all people (from 7 years old) can swim. In most countries in Europe the majority can swim...so it is logical, that you have deep pools.

Great thanks for the lesson! But I didn’t ask why the pools are deep! I don’t really care since it’s the design and I can’t do anything about it! My kids are very good swimmers! My question was what the kids did in the deep pools for fun and if we are allowed to bring any toys!

  9. I understand the pools on the Seaside are not kid friendly due to their depth. But my girls love to swim and I know they will be in the water no matter what! My question is what do other kids do in the pool? Are we allowed to bring goggles, dive sticks, any kinds of toys for them to play with in the pool?

  10. Be prepared too in case the ferry is running later. We had extra stop on our way back to the boat to drop people off. Made us later than anticipated. In fact as we got close to the boat the cruise people were saying “hurry up....your late”. Luckily it was a cruise excursion so they were holding the boat!
