Celebrity Constellation Sunshine Cruise in the Gulf by TonyUK On every cruise their are some things we try which we haven't tried before, and others we aren't as thrilled with. On the plus side the silent disco was fantastic, great fun. The movie on the pool deck with headphones so no one else was disturbed was also a good innovation for night time entertainment....shame no bar service! The live music in the bars was also very good. In particular the classical duo played very well and were wonderful to listen to. Please Celebrity keep a wide range of live music on board to suit all tastes. Norwegian Jewel Panama Canal, January 2017 by Brabus08 ...Cartagena (we had a car with driver and guide who showed us around the city, stopping for photo opportunities and wandering about. Very good indeed, a lovely place that we enjoyed thoroughly.) The area from the ship's dock to the outside of the port was incredibly with lots of birds, monkeys and other wildlife roaming free where my wife was hand feeding parrots, toucans and small monkeys with fresh mango pieces. So much better that the expensive visit to the eco park!!! There is a large souvenir area there, too, where you can buy and post your cards along with food and drink outlets; very pleasant indeed! Oceana If you can go with the flow.... by Sikwemu There was one lecturer who was truly outstanding. He held a large group of people totally in the palm of his hand as he talked about Ancient Greek trilogy plays. All his talks were equally well received, a masterclass in public speaking. The rest were just not up to his standard. Not into quizzes/bingo/drinking but there was a heck of a lot of them and all were very well subscribed so obviously enjoyed. Continue reading... American Queen Tasting the Deep South of the USA on the water with the American Queen Steamboat by Berthyett In terms of atmosphere, the multi national guests are served by an all-American staff who were utterly faultless – perhaps due to a generous off-and-on working pattern. This is perhaps best felt in the dining experience. There’s the outdoor River Grill, the delightfully relaxed buffets of the Front Porch Café or, for a more considered experience, the J.W. White Dining Room. This being America, expect only the most generous of portions. Meals are all washed down with complimentary wine and beer while teas, coffees, juices, soft drinks and bottled water are included throughout the cruise. Queen Victoria Wonderful Holiday by signer1 We thoroughly enjoyed the excursions we had booked particularly La Palma which is very quaint, we also enjoyed the excursion to Casablanca and were escorted round the Mosque then on to Ricks Cafe with memorabilia of the film Casablanca. The excursion in a quaint old tram in Lisbon is not to be missed, we were served Port wine and little custard tarts which are a local speciality and were delicious. However it was too choppy around Madeira to have a tender and were rather disappointed to miss this port but it did not stop us enjoying the fireworks on New Years Eve that were viewed from the ship. Regal Princess Regal Delight, and Much Better than Last Cruise! by ian441672 We were lucky on our second week to do the Chefs table Lumiere, and this was very special. It is very popular and sold out usually upon boarding, but we got in on dead on midday on our 2nd week (back to back cruises) and were put on the waiting list straight away (by Michael again!), and this was confirmed the next day. A tour of the galley, Q&A wit the executive chef, free flowing proper champagne, 5 big portioned hors d'oeuvres, then a 5 course deluxe dinner on a crystal curtained round table just for the 10 of us, waited on very attentively, again with free flowing wine. Superb night. Continue reading... Regal Delight, and Much Better than Last Cruise!

TUI Discovery Best Cruise Ever by Cruise SGB We alternated between the main 47 degrees and the Gallery 47 Italian restaurant. The food in both was very good and the service excellent. We elected for a table for 2 at every meal and unlike other cruise lines the staff made sure that this happened 100% of the time. In 2 weeks we only had to wait for a table once. The speciality restaurants had great reports from fellow cruisers, but we were put off by the cover charge. When the main restaurants are so good paying that much to go somewhere else made no sense to us. Continue reading...Best Cruise Ever

Viking Sea Verdict on Viking Sea - a Post-Cruise Reflection by CaptainMartini I don’t know what I expected of Viking but it is certainly exclusive. The ship is wonderfully spacious and hardly ever feels crowded; there is always a quiet corner, a place to sit, with people if you want, or without them if you prefer to be left alone, although the bar-staff in the lounges could sometimes do with making themselves a little more visible, in my opinion. The décor throughout is a Scandinavian Rhapsody in Blue and Beige which flows through the ship and this combined with soothing background music in the public areas and on the “View from the Bridge” channel on your TV, creates a tranquillity that feels a little like the waiting-room of an expensive Swiss clinic or a private Nordic Health Spa – and indeed there is one on board, complete with hydro-therapy pool, heated beds, sauna and “Snow Room” – although why I should want one of those, I don’t know. Every ship these days must have its gimmick but it’s all complimentary, so I don’t mind. Continue reading... Verdict on Viking Sea - a Post-Cruise Reflection

Seabourn Encore More private motor yacht than cruise ship; wonderful service throughout. by Able Seaman H Speaking of dining the highlight of any cruise must surely be the food. As well as the main dining room where we ate very well and the Colonnade which ran a series of speciality nights including a very popular Indian night there were 2 new options, the Thomas Keller Grill and Sushi. The TK grill has generated many column inches of debate on Cruise Critic. Having eaten there 5 times during our 34 night cruise I can say that for us it was a total success. The Rib Eye steak is almost too good - how can I ever eat steak again. The prawn cocktail starter featured prawns bigger than my fingers. Continue reading... Magellan Definitely no fur and big knickers - great, comfy Xmas/New Year cruise! by Eurovisionfan We were very happy with 6082 until the sea was very rough on the way back and there was a very bad hammering noise. We’d convinced ourselves that they wouldn’t do anything about it, but after no sleep, I finally snapped at around 5am one morning and we called reception. Within minutes, a friendly face appeared, couldn’t fix the problem and said he’d report it to reception. A few minutes later, the phone rang and said that we could have a “sleeping cabin” on deck 4. We went in our dressing gowns and slept for the rest of the night. Why we didn’t do it sooner is beyond me, and very much our fault for not letting CMV have the chance to rectify the situation, which they did very well indeed. After all, they can’t put right a problem they don’t know about. Continue reading...Definitely no fur and big knickers - great, comfy Xmas/New Year cruise!

Norwegian Star Changed Itinerary but Still Wonderful by beryldennis46 We also had the full Drinks Package so having a drink when and where we wanted was no problem. The range of drinks stocked is exceptional with an excellent selection of good wines. Our favourite bars were the Bier Garten which was on deck, large, sunny and welcoming, and Gatsby's Champagne Bar, relaxing, calm with decent piano music. I should mention that although this was Not Adult only there were never any problems, there are lots of "quiet" areas, and loads of places to sit and sunbathe away from the pool and the general noise of families having a good time. Seven Seas Explorer Regent Continue to Be the Best Kept Secret in Cruising by Inxent The on board entertainment was splendid. We enjoyed the shows and all the daily programs. Great thought and attention to detail on what the client wanted. Many fellow passengers felt the same. What we did like that the entertainment staff mingled on a daily basis with the passengers and were not aloof like other cruise ships. The shows were professionally presented and extremely enjoyable and entertaining. The guest entertainers were well chosen. The speakers were outstandingly good on their subjects, knowledgeable and professional presentations. Continue reading... Regent Continue to Be the Best Kept Secret in Cruising

Ventura Fantastic First Cruise by johnnyd57uk The cabins are a decent size and spotless. Beds are amazingly comfortable. No need to bring toiletries as they are provided. You can buy them in Port if you run out. The cabin attendant will clean your room continuously so remember your do not disturb sign when necessary. We had a basic inside cabin. You could go for an outside but not sure its worth the cost. Continue reading...Fantastic First Cruise

Arcadia What a Smashing Christmas Time by HOLWELL Our excursions were fabulous with lots of information. We experienced Storm Barbara and we were given plenty of information and put at our ease throughout the experience. If my husband & I had plenty of money we would have refused to leave the ship!!!!. We understood that Arcadia was going on to a World Cruise. Some people are so lucky. Continue reading... What a Smashing Christmas Time

Magellan Solo Cruise Xmas 2016 by auntie alice I went on 6 organised trips & had a great time especially the wine tasting ones. Shame weather was so bad in Lisbon that we really didn't see much. I loved the huge choice of drinks available on all inc package. It was fantastic & well worth it. I enjoyed the entertainment in Show Lounge & Captains Club as it suited my tastes.Shame so many people complained that it was poor but each to there own. I loved the chance to be in the Choir. It was a great experience being on stage singing excerpts from Les Mis. Brought us together as a group. I felt the days at sea lacked a little in entertainment especially if weather wasn't ideal for sitting out. Continue reading... Solo Cruise Xmas 2016

TUI Discovery Lovely Ship With Great Staff by Mandygorms The all inclusive package was brilliant and we were able to get anything we wanted including Baileys. Our cabin was fine - the shower was a bit small and I didn't like the shower curtain but we decided not to upgrade this year as we didn't spend much time there. The ship was spotlessly clean and I often saw staff cleaning. We loved the atrium and theatre. The entertainment was fantastic - we didn't go to shows every night but enjoyed the ones we did go to. We loved the quizzes and game shows which were very professional. We even frequented the disco on a few nights. Continue reading...Lovely Ship With Great Staff

Norwegian Spirit Christmas at Sea by spandance We had a great time. The band played a tribute to Glenn Miller which was just wonderful. (for those of you who remember them). After was an 80s DJ disco. I found the music too loud in the Theatre for the shows and the lighting was poor for the excellent dancers, who were very talented but were lost in weird lighting. Shows were average. NCL can do better. Continue reading... Christmas at Sea

Spitsbergen Aurora in All its Glory! by Bridget31 Despite the cloudy beginning, we were treated to many sightings of the Aurora, of varying intensity. The best was not long after leaving Kirkenes, when a "routine" display turned into the spectacle you dream about; later, we missed a visit from Santa to the ship because we were busy watching another wonderful but more distant display, while docked in Bronnoysund, from our balcony. The ship would turn off the deck lights when not in port, to provide the darkness necessary for a good view. Continue reading... Aurora in All its Glory!

Queen Mary 2 Good Cruise, Nice Ship by elroble62 On a positive note to all bridge players, the afternoon duplicate bridge games were well run and enjoyable. Kudos to the director. All in all, this was a wonderful trip and we would definitely cruise with Cunard again when we next cross the Atlantic. The atmosphere, service, food, and entertainment all add up to make this cruise a very pleasant experience. Continue reading...Good Cruise, Nice Ship

Magellan Amsterdam, and Antwerp Christmas Market. Lovely time !! by dollypop50 Our cabin was spotlesss and apart from being too hot ( maintenance staff soon rectified this ) was very comfortable. Dining on the first evening was not pleasant, as all those allocated to their particular restaurant were kept waiting outside the restaurant until the doors were opened. Again the behaviour of some passengers pushing and shoving left a lot to be desired. The food was expertly presented, but nothing special. As a result of this we chose to use the buffet restaurant for the remainder, We had to choose our moment as it was very popular. Continue reading... Amsterdam, and Antwerp Christmas Market. Oceana Superb in All Respects, Especially At The Price by dave201 The Oceana may not be state of the art but it is a very elegant ship internally. The atrium is beautiful and we like the plaza being at the top front of the ship with large windows. Great views ahead. Cabins are a little dated but comfortable, all you need. Remember the price. We always book inside. We spend little time in the cabin so would rather cruise more often than waste money on a window or balcony at significant extra cost. The staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Continue reading... Superb in All Respects, Especially At The Price

Azura Helicopter ride and deep sea fishing.. cancelled - but rain did not stop play by gina being gina Sensible arrangement of pools meant that those who wanted their holidays a little quieter between the wide range of excursions could still be able to dip in and out of a pool. Longer deeper pools were available for those who wanted a more physical water experience between baking. My bed was heaven and I slept like a top, waking up each morning with a sense of excitement as we were coming into port. The cabin staff greeted their guest each morning with wide smiles. Norwegian Jewel We had a great cruise; thanks NCL! by Andy B The cruise itself was excellent value for money. Free food and drinks for 14 nights visiting Mexico (x2), Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama Canal, Columbia, and concluding at Miami. We only took one trip using the Cruise booking service which was at the end of the cruise involving a coach tour of Miami followed by a Shopping Mall visit. We found it much cheaper to get off of the ship and use local taxi etc but I would advise a bit of research before you cruise on each port of call so you plan to visit all of the best attractions. Marina Very enjoyable but some irritants by Captain Povey We liked our cabin very much, particularly the large bathroom with both bath and separate shower; but the wardrobe can be difficult to access. Inevitably, with an ocean crossing, there was a large build up of salt on the balcony and balcony furniture and we were surprised that this was not regularly washed down. It made it very unpleasant to sit on the chairs. Continue reading... Very enjoyable but some irritants

Thomson Dream As Expected by carryoncruising This was our 6th cruise on the Dream and the 3rd Transatlantic so we knew exactly what to expect. The ship is showing signs of her age (30) and the lifts are worse than I remember. However, none of this detracted from what was essentially a wonderful cruise. Food in Orion restaurant was terrific and not once were we pressurised to pay for speciality restaurants. (Have used them in the past and they are good). We ate in Lido only twice on returning from shore excursions and were perfectly happy with the food on offer. Continue reading...As Expected

Britannia Good but not Great by bushfish Alcoholic drink prices were generally excellent, much, much cheaper than other ships I have sailed on, in fact very competitive with pub prices in the UK particularly with draught beers and lagers and a vast array of spirits and bottled beers. I also was happy with shore excursion prices which were good value and offered a great variety of opportunities to experience local attractions, with the added safeguard of not missing the ship an extra benefit. These seemed significantly less expensive than previous experiences. Continue reading... Good but not Great

Riviera What's not to like... Oh yes, the cookies! by Kristal Blade The highlights on board for us were the concierge facility, speciality dining restaurants and the lovely staff. We had a cabin on deck 9, just a short walk to the laundry and concierge. We used all of the specialty restaurants, our favourite was Red Ginger and we paid extra for a night at La Reserve for a 7 course extravaganza with wine matched to each course. That was wonderful. TUI Discovery A great introduction for a first time cruiser by Mike AMK While the destinations varied in the degree of interest which they offered there can be no doubt that the choices catered for all tastes from the die hard scuba divers, snorkelers and swimmers with dolphins or turtles in such places as Antigua, Barbados and St Lucia to the less energetic but interesting Dutch influenced islands of Curacao, Bonnaire and Grenada, while all destinations allowed the dedicated sunbathers to revel in their pastime. However, frankly, the destinations took second place to the ship. The Discovery provided everything which we anticipated of a cruise ship and plenty more besides. Ventura Excellent Service and Very Enjoyable Dining Experience by Belinda B The food was amazing and we used Freedom Dining as our option due there being five of us. We used all available restaurants within the Freedom Dining arrangement and we were never disappointed with the quality, service or menus. You are able to visit three other restaurants on the ship but they incur a service charge but we were very happy with the food experience without adding further expense. Continue reading... Azura A Decent Cruise with Good Food by JJ Baracas We visited the Sindhu restaurant, and though it was beautiful presented and flavoured, it lacked a bit of oomph in the dishes. Similarly a fish curry was served one day in the Peninsular restaurant. The waiter was astonished, but got them, when we asked for some chopped chillies. It was explained to us that most passengers want everything mild and safe. Continue reading...A Decent Cruise with Good Food

Celebrity Eclipse AMAZING! by hayleyjwarren The ship is beautiful, the attention to detail is incredible, the service is impeccable. The breakfast choice was an overwhelming display of fresh cold and hot food, such a variety, I used to get lost! Lunches were on the same scale - we never felt like the food got 'samey'. Dinner was amazing every night. To have your own head waiter and sommelier was a great experience as they were so knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairing. Continue reading... Scenic Opal Surpassed expectations in every way. by digby40 Bars are completely open and well stocked. The wine list is substantial, though cruising through German waters revealed a number of unfamiliar wines to try. Food is very good in the main restaurant and better in the 'La Rive', which is fronted as a gourmand experience and can only be use once a week. I didn't like the menu for the other special restaurant (Portobello), so we didn't eat there. Continue reading... Surpassed expectations in every way.

Emerald Princess Food glorious food by ukcruise100 The food was very good on the previous cruises, but on this one it had further improved, with better preparation, quality and service. This was not only in the main restaurants, but also in the Horizon self service restaurant, where there was always a good selection available and we had some really excellent pies and meat dishes, as well as the pasta. Our cabin was kept spotlessly clean by our cabin steward, Christian. There was an issue with the air conditioning, which was unable to cope with the tropical heat. Although many promises were made to rectify it, none were honoured, but this was not Christian’s fault. After a week the outside temperature lowered and it was no longer an issue. Serenade of the Seas Better than Expected on Serenade by simon4059 Overall we enjoyed our time on the Serenade, we met some lovely people and had a brilliant time, although we would certainly book on the Serenade again we have chosen independence of the seas (freedom class) for our cruise next year mainly due to more free restaurant choice and hopefully better evening entertainment. Britannia No complaints...But I think the ship is too big. by Adrian G Britannia is a new ship-it was launched in 2015. The fixtures/fittings were comparable to other cruise ships I have travelled on-not my taste, but not too garish. I had a single cabin (with a considerable saving on my last cruise). This was an inside. The cabin wasn't too small but not too big. After all, you're only sleeping there anyway. The bed was of generous proportions-far bigger than a "normal" single bed. plenty of storage and wardrobe space with a loo, shower and basin with a large mirror. Not bad for a single cabin! Britannia Overall a Fantastic Holiday by ArtisticSoul The entertainment was good on the whole and P&O tried to cater for every taste. There were a lot of quizzes to do throughout the day and an unusual graphologist Sandra Grayson who was worth seeing she analysed famous people's hand writing and held calligraphy classes. There was lots of ballroom dancing and other lessons. Games like table tennis, quoits and a gym with everything in it, free to use. Continue reading...Overall a Fantastic Holiday

Azamara Quest Azamara Excellence by grandma cruising We mainly used Discoveries (MDR) for our evening meal. We felt that the food had regained its Wow factor (missing on our last cruise). We loved the fact that although you can see the menu on the TV and outside the dining room each day, there are two main course dishes (Chefs Special and World Destination special) that are a surprise until your waiter tells you about them. The menu always had a great choice, with some dishes, such as Escargots in garlic butter, Prawns with Marie Rose sauce, New York strip steak, Salmon repeated every day alongside all the dishes of the day and the specials. Celebrity Eclipse Excellent but some niggles by tommy921 We booked all our shore excursions via Celebrity and the trips were well organised. We usually had to meet in the theatre for priority disembarkation. Only once direct from the dock and we were quickly shown to the waiting coach. The ship is generally well maintained (a few peeling paint patches in awkward places) and constant maintenance is being undertaken. It is also constantly being cleaned, along with all the rest rooms. We never found any dirt. A credit to all the hard working staff. Continue reading... Excellent but some niggles

TUI Discovery Really Enjoyable Holiday: Magic of Spain by Selest66 Our cabin was a small interior one, but was fine for the price and we were only in it to sleep or get changed (I paid £1,761 in total for the two of us - to include flights, transfers, 7 nights full board plus all taxes, charges and tips). There was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space (with loads of hangers!), the bed comfortable and the shower room was adequate. The room was cleaned several times a day - with towel changes, bed turn-down, pillow chocolates etc. The food was really good. There are 7 different places to eat (although 2 are at a supplement and so I did not bother with those). Continue reading... Really Enjoyable Holiday: Magic of Spain

Norwegian Epic An Epic Adventure! by Simes123 Freestyle Format: We prebooked all our dinners and shows before we left the UK so knew exactly when we were eating, and this worked very well, as we timed dinners around show bookings. The relaxed dress codes worked very well - most people wore appropriate clothing - not too formal, not too relaxed. The Norwegian Night Out, saw a few people dress up a little more, as did we, and most people seemed to make an effort for the evenings. I'd say generally, despite the relaxed codes, people seemed to abide by the guidelines for dress better than on the other cruises we've experienced. Continue reading... An Epic Adventure!

MSC Splendida Taking Splendida Home to the Med by 1fifthavenue Splendida is an absolutely beautiful ship, there is no doubt about that. As we boarded the ship we were ushered in to the main atrium area, which is just absolutely stunning. There are bars on three levels, deck 5, where there is a grand piano and seating area, deck 6 where there is the mixology bar, serving all the usual drinks plus expertly crafted cocktails and deck 7 where there is the coffee bar. All of these decks are linked by two sweeping Swarovski crystal staircases, which apparently costs €5000 per step! Continue reading...Taking Splendida Home to the Med

Magellan Fantastic; Negative Reviews a Bit Picky by AConvertedCruiser Dinners - I loved every meal we had. I find the criticism of the portions astonishing as I am a big lad with a strong appetite and not quite so far into my senior years as most of the passengers. Individually the portions may not be as big...but the evening meal is 5 courses...eat them all and you are good!! I never had one desert as I am not a sweet person (shut it wife) and I never left hungry. And if you are not having all the courses and are feeling particularly hungry...ask for extra mains...not a problem and no extra cost..shhh.... Continue reading... The welcoming fruit and sparkling wine were delightful. During our entire stay aboard the ship we could find no fault with our two concierges - Gerry and Wiyan. They seamlessly attended to their duties always with a smile and a chirpy hello. The ship information sheets which appeared each evening laying out the following day's itinerary and activities was excellent and we were able to plan our on-board time easily. Tannoy announcements were kept to a minimum but we awaited our Captain's daily "Hello, it's me again" eagerly! What a lovely dry sense of humour and his daily quotations were priceless! Norwegian Breakaway New York to Bermuda, one of the best ! by Eastboundanddown The ship overall is perfect, Loads of bars and places to eat (Including lots of free options) The Waterfront is fantastic and a great place to wind down and get a drink where it was quiet all the time !! The ship is clean and tidy all over. Continue reading...New York to Bermuda, one of the best !

Thomson Majesty Catalan Promise by n.cartwright Of note, the entertainment team were amazing, the main team of 5 boys and 5 girls performed some incredible shows, probably the best I’ve ever seen. The 5 piece band “Muzzik Unlimited” were equally superb, with a real character of a guitarist who could play anything from Journey covers to Smoke On The Water (Deep Purple, a bit old for some readers but I like it). The other musicians and singers also deserve a mention. Continue reading... Catalan Promise

Britannia A Super Cruise with Britannia by Whizy Our evening meal was in the Meridian restaurant and we sometimes shared a table and sometimes ate alone. The food was of a good quality and there was plenty of choice. The waiters were all excellent and helpful and more than willing to adapt the menu e.g ice cream instead of custard. We ate in The LImelight one evening and saw Madeleine Bell which was a good experience although the menu choice was a bit limited. Continue reading... Overall a Fantastic Holiday

Harmony of the Seas Harmony exceeded our expectations. by Finchyy The ship has a boutique feel (similar to the Britannia) and is, understandably very modern. Technology is everywhere, in the shape of ipads where you can sign in using your Seapass card and make reservations for the many restaurants or excursions and check your diary for booking clashes. It isn't new, this was on the Anthem last year but we could never get it to work then. Continue reading...Harmony exceeded our expectations.

Celebrity Eclipse First time cruisers by Staffo Lifts fore and aft. Sky observation lounge at the front with a cracking view and a good bar. Good for relaxing. Quizzes and events held here. One pool in the solarium {adults only}. Beds can’t be reserved here. Anything longer than 30 minutes and staff remove towels etc. Two outside pools. Beds can be reserved here. If we wasn’t up by 8.00am the best beds were already taken. Continue reading... First time cruisers

TUI Discovery Overall a Fantastic Holiday by robbo2574 To summarise then - food was great, lots of choice, entertainment was very good and always something going on around the ship; shows in the theatre were also very good. Andre the comedian was hilarious, and my son actually got pulled up on stage one night which made his holiday. Choice of drinks on the AI package was very good, but there were a lot of drinks I would have chosen normally (Ale) which were going to cost extra so I didn't bother - but the cocktail selection and bottled beer sufficed. Viking Star Viking Homelands cruise; it had all I wanted. by fair weather golfer This is not a family cruise ship, it is not an all singing all dancing entertainment ship, there is no dressing up and having your photo taken, it is a relaxing and informative. The cabins all with balconies are simple contemporary Scandinavian, light woods and nautical colours. Bed was comfy. All rooms have seating area and a desk and the usual TV, safe, coffee machine and Wi-Fi (a bit slow but it worked all over the boat). Every cabin has bath robes and slippers. The bathroom was superb, with heated tiled floor. Continue reading...Viking Homelands cruise; it had all I wanted.

Celebrity Reflection Excellent Cruise by Weboos2 We had a classic drinks package which was perfectly adequate for us with a good choice of wines, beers, spirits and cocktails. Speciality coffees were also included. There was a little hard sell to upgrade to premium, but this only lasted till the next day. We didn't experience any hard sell of the speciality restaurants and didn't use them. We dined in the main dining room on select dining, which worked very well, having booked our dining time on line before we left. We managed to get the same table every night, so we were able to enjoy the same waiters and sommelier every night. They were very efficient and polite. If you wanted more, you only had to ask. TUI Discovery Cosmopolitan Classic Cruise in the Western Mediterranean. by Usscyrene The staff are highly attentive with many nationalities working onboard. They all have time to chat and made an excellent effort to ensure our week went smoothly. When you walk somewhere and a crew member addresses you by name then you know that they really are paying attention to you. Its like we were all part of a big family onboard! There are photographers but they aren't in your face all the time. They actually did us some really nice pictures. The Captain was brilliant too having met him for a chat twice plus he did an evening in the Antrim bar where he and his officers mingled with the guests. Continue reading... Celebrity Silhouette Excellent, indulgent vacation; it's all about the ship. by mikekendal Overall, a great trip without any hint of stuffiness. The general crowd was aged mainly 40-60 with most guests up for a good time (most bars and functions in the evening where well attended and rocking). Even though most people where on drinks packages it was quite refreshing to see that most people weren't hammering it from the moment the bar opened and I didn't spot anyone who had obviously overdone it drink wise during the whole trip. Viking Sea A lovely, comfortable cruise ship by Mprouse There is no doubt that the Viking Sea is a really lovely ship. There are no facilities for children and, in fact, under 18s are discouraged. It is bright, airy and extremely comfortable with a real feeling of space. Public areas (including walkways) are wide and it is very easy to move around the vessel. There are plenty of areas around the ship to relax in. There is no dedicated library but every 'lounge space' had bookshelves with a selection of fiction and non fiction material (even the pool area). We did not try the Spa but other passengers spoke highly of it. Continue reading... A lovely, comfortable cruise ship

Scenic Jewel Great Way to Experience Central Europe by VAR1948 We booked this cruise to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary and were not disappointed. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. The ship is modern and well appointed and was kept spotlessly clean. The entire crew is a credit to Scenic and you were made to feel welcome at all times. The cabin had a balcony which increased the floor space and gave great views of the passing scenery. As we frequently travelled overnight and our cabin was located near the rear of the ship, engine noise was noticeable but did not affect sleeping - in fact you were more aware of it when the engines stopped and the quietness hit you! Costa Mediterranea Costa Mediterranea - a Wonderful Cruise Down the Adriatic by TRTs We found the staff to be excellent : nothing was too much trouble. We asked for ice in our cabins once and from then each morning and evening the ice bucket was filled. Similarly, we asked for butter for our bread at mealtimes and from that day, butter was always on the table. The service standard was outstanding. My husband has a disability and staff were incredibly considerate and kind (not always the case!). Continue reading...Costa Mediterranea - a Wonderful Cruise Down the Adriatic

Harmony of the Seas Wonderful cruise, with only a couple of moans. by W and W There were 8 of us (4 couples) and having booked 18 months ago, the excitement level was at an all time high by the time we boarded at Civitavecchia. First impressions were that the ship was totally amazing, and was overflowing with WOW factors. Continue reading... Wonderful cruise, with only a couple of moans.

Thomson Majesty A Really Happy Ship by Toby Tyke Selected Thomson on advice from friends and family for our first cruise. We had the drinks package which was excellent value. We booked online and did read some poor, reviews before booking and some awful ones later. How wrong we were to accept them. There is nothing we could suggest to improve on what was a truly wonderful holiday. Continue reading... A Really Happy Ship

TUI Discovery Brilliant First Time Cruise by Highlander32 I would say it was an excellent cruise but not having been on any others i have nothing to compare it with. So as ar as my mother and i were concerned it was excellent. Meals in all areas were all different and you had lots of choice in the menu, not many seemed to use Gallery 47 the italian part of the dining area. We enjoyed the choice of meals all areas of the ship. Continue reading...Brilliant First Time Cruise

Emerald Princess Amazing Places! by pstephen Our children thoroughly enjoyed the kids activities on-board and the children’s centre staff were all first-class. We were fortunate to be on a cruise with a relatively small number of children (although still an adequate number for them to make friends and enjoy themselves) and as the children's area rooms are not vast, I could imagine they may get crowded on busier “school holiday” cruises. Independence of the Seas Independence is still a favourite. by Archers Fan We had My-time dining, which we had experienced on Explorer last year so knew what to expect. Dinner in the MDR was mostly excellent, but on a couple of days the choice was not what we wanted so we used the Windjammer. However, we learned not to go on a table for 10 as that made service very slow. Continue reading... Independence is still a favourite.

Celebrity Silhouette Great Scandinavian and Russian Trip by ellay864 We did a 4 package of the speciality dining. Tuscan Grill has always been my favourite and hubby loves their steak but felt this time it didn't quite live up to the hype we'd given it. Qsine was fun as ever. Lawn club grill no longer actively promotes the option of making your own bread and cooking your own steak but if you know it's there you can ask to do it. Magellan Baltic Capitals August 2016 by lilliewhite Ship although almost 30 years old was clean and had charecter, yes there was some vibration at full speed but does anyone have a 30 year old car that performs the same as when new? Cabin (level 7 inside) was large with plenty storage, bathroom was adequate wit powerfull shower. Food in the dining room was of a good standard with no compaints from our table, service was generally very good. Continue reading... Baltic Capitals August 2016

Konigsdam Relaxed Modern Cool Luxury with 5 Star Service and Food by Arrondor Koningsdam is a stunning ship with varied and high quality food choices, friendly staff, great evening entertainment offerings and a relaxed but non "stuffy" vibe. We loved our 7 days on-board. The highlights for us are the gorgeous 2-tier pool area, extensive options and quality within the lido marketplace and the variety of evening entertainment. Add to that the best designed stateroom (we had a balcony stateroom) we have stayed in and a ship which never ever felt crowded. Magellan Excellent Value; Recommended by Spitfire24 The (all important) food on 'Magellan' was in our view universally excellent and the restaurant staff in the evening most engaging and attentive. We had a nice (circular) table of 8 in the 'Waldorf' (late sitting). Even the self-service 'Raffles Bistro' food was generally very good (other than afternoon-tea scones, which were too hard), but the constant piped-music does need to be turned-off! Navigator of the Seas Loved it!! by welshy74 Entertainment was mostly excellent. Loved the Michael Bouble tribute and Classical Graffiti but the others were not as good (but not bad either). Missed the 70s party on the Royal Promenade but the Brit pop one was fun. We loved doing there various quizzes in the Star Lounge and Scooner.. great fun!! Ice show was AMAZING and much better than the show on the Allure last year. Continue reading... Loved it!!
