Viking Star Fascinating, Relaxing Immersion in Viking Culture by KOGPb Cabins were well designed, comfortable and attractive and well maintained by the friendliest room service you could wish for. Similarly, the dining facilities and food were of a high quality, from the homely Mamsens with its jam and waffles to the highly innovative, taste bud tingling Chef's Table. Aurora Solo traveller with positive experience by atkpjdv First off I should start by saying that I am one of those people who likes to travel alone. I enjoy the time to completely relax and do just what I want to do. So it was with a little trepidation that I set out on this, my very first cruise. I had a fear that I would be somewhat alienated from the vast majority of passengers who travel in groups. As it turned out my fears were misplaced. Continue reading... Britannia A Fantastic Week Aboard Britannia by danwarren536 I could write so many positives about the entertainment on board with shows put on the entertainment team in the 900 seat Headliners Theatre and acts brought in to perform. We were lucky to see Cheryl Baker (Bucks Fizz, and Record Breakers) do an intimate show in the Limelight Club which included a 3 course meal. Continue reading... Jane Austen Outstanding Riviera Travel by Miketee From here we went to the top deck where there was loads of table and chairs set out or for those who wanted to laze away the days there were about 40 sunbeds with canopy’s above to shade the hot sun, to the front the seating again was tables and chairs and surrounded by a glass screen to shelter from any breeze there may be, A luxurious seating was at the very front of the ship with loads of outdoor wicker settees (wonderful) Continue reading...Outstanding Riviera Travel

Oceana Would return in a heartbeat. by Presto2 We found the crew on Oceana to be genuinely lovely people and we left feeling like we had made some great friends. We tend to find that, if you treat the crew with respect, are happy to chat with them and treat them like human beings then they will respond in kind. Every one of them that we met, or walked past, always greeted us with a ‘hello’ or a smile. Continue reading... Would return in a heartbeat.

Thomson Dream Brilliant holiday; stop worrying about some negative reviews. by SSCE We used the pool side grill for lunch, the self service for breakfast and the waiter service restaurant for each evening meal. (We didn't use the restaurants you needed to pay a supliment for... Why bother when a great one is free of additional charges). Our tip go for 6.30pm and service will be great, four courses in about 1.5hrs so you are not rushed and it is a nice experience. We went later one night and the service seemed to drag. AmaSonata A beautiful ship - but it's the crew that make this a luxurious cruise. by NantwichSwan I have left service to the last as that is what I think make Ama unbeatable. Every member of the staff, both crew and hotel staff did their absolute best to provide a good service in a quick, efficient and friendly manner. I cannot conceive of how a better level of service could be achieved. Ama get absolute full marks for service. Brilliance of the Seas Med Cruise Aug 2016 from a Brit by SailorNick The cruise in general is what you make it - you can do next to nothing and lie sunbathing drinking cocktails by the pool watching the coast go by. You can totally immerse yourself into the games, quizzes, onboard entertainment shows, casino, formal dressing up nights - it really is up to you. Continue reading... Arcadia Volcanoes, Geysirs, Mudbaths and Sagas on the Arcadia by Derwentharps This was a wonderfully exciting itinerary taking in Belfast, Stornoway in the Western Isles of Scotland, 3 ports in Iceland, Shetland and Orkney. A rare chance to turn right out of Southampton and head for the Celtic Sea, lovely views of the Cornish coast bathed in sunlight. Continue reading... Insignia From Baltics to Dover by beebopaloola We had a generous amount of on board credit so decided to book a number of shore excursions. On some Oceania cruises if you book 5 excursions the company applies a 25% discount. This doesn't apply to cruises of only 7 days duration. I enjoyed all but one of the excursions and found them very interesting and informative. Continue reading...From Baltics to Dover

Oceana An Excellent Week Onboard Oceana by sullyk For activities on board, there was a good selection - around the main pool area it was very busy (as you'd expect!) and at times it was difficult to find a spare sunbed (sadly many people did seem to think it was ok to "reserve" them in spite of clearly being asked not to). However, there are many quieter deck areas if you want to avoid the noisy zones. Continue reading... An Excellent Week Onboard Oceana

Riviera A bit more work on the food and everything will be shipshape. by Mike the sailor Would we go back? No question. For all its shortcomings the Riviera is a beautiful ship, the service is fabulous and it represents great value. Our cabin came with a useful $400 per person on-board credit, which can be applied to gratuities, drinks packages and shore excursions. Wi-fi internet came free with the package. Continue reading... Carnival Vista Fun cruise by spanner44 Overall there were numerous activities on the ship to entertain our ten year old and eight year old daughter. There were lots of fun activities throughout the day and we feel that this was the most enjoyable cruise we have ever experienced. Continue reading... Fun cruise

Viking Sea Our first ever sea cruise did not disappoint. by MarionP The Viking Sea is just beautiful and the sleek Scandinavian interior designs were restful to the eye. We were surprised that with 930 guests the ship never seemed in any way overcrowded and there were many places other than our spacious stateroom to find a quiet place to sit and have a rest, a read or a drink. Celebrity Equinox Amazing First Cruise with Celebrity on Equinox by Bev Mulcare We never used the speciality restaurants as we found the food to be very good in the main dining room. We had freedom dining which we prefer so we would go to the show at 7pm then go for dinner, we usually put our names down first they give a pager and get a drink in the bar usually a 20/30 minute wait which suits us. Oceana Much Better than Expected by wazza99 The main thing we we're very impressed with was the evening shows, all we're topclass and highly recommended, the daytime speakers we're also very good. The ports on our cruise we're all good and apart from Rome could all be done via just walking, we even got to dock in Kotor so no tenders. Continue reading... Much Better than Expected

Harmony of the Seas ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, FABULOUS, AWESOME: JUST WOW by ValT This was a first time cruise that I was persuaded to go on by my nephew. Once on board went straight to our Stateroom and our luggage was already there. Continue reading... ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, FABULOUS, AWESOME: JUST WOW

Swiss Sapphire Cruising down the Seine by ljbc The dining room is open seating with tables for four or six, so you can eat with different people each evening if you want, the food was fine and the service was excellent. There was no drinks package available but we found the drinks prices pretty reasonable, high street prices. There is a coffee machine in the bistro at the stern on the 3 rd deck, with good coffee plus tea and cookies. Continue reading... Cruising down the Seine

Magellan Glad I Ignored the Naysayers by lee8553 Like many posters I was originally put off by negative reviews, but luckily a friend had just travelled on Marco Polo & enjoyed, so I thought in for a penny! The fact it would cost me more (as a solo passenger) to do a 7 night cruise with another line to Norway in an inside cabin, (I had an oceanview) probably swung it for me. Continue reading... Caribbean Princess Caribbean Princess, British Isles by Broadhurstbob Although we have been to some of the ports of call before, the idea of sailing right round the British Isles appealed to us. It was a chance to get to places that would be difficult or costly to get to. It was also a chance to visit several distilleries. This was to be a cruise of two parts, the good bit and the bit when my wife caught a nasty dose of flu, I’ll be including a review of the Medical Centre (that’s a first). Continue reading... Balmoral Fantastic Norway Cruise! by Bollinger_Babe The cruise itself was fantastic. William Shakespeare Lovely cruise but the Danube is definitely not blue! by Jayneeeg The ship was very similar to the many others we saw cruising up and down the Danube (which although I love my husband dearly is definitely not blue but a murky brown). Navigator of the Seas Excellent Cruise for this First Timer! by tallpaul86 We thought the decor of the ship was really nice - I wouldn't use the word modern at all but at the same time it's not "Thy Quaintest Ye Olde Ship Hath Sailed These Waters" style either - just somewhere in the middle, wee nod here and a wee nod there in terms of styling so a good mix up of design over the ship I felt anyways. Britannia Great Ship, Great Cruise by Oldwaldo The ship has all the atmosphere and ambience of a modern and high class London hotel. It is chic and understated. Our cabin was immaculate and whilst not huge it had plenty of space for our needs. Unless you're going to spend the whole cruise in your cabin, the balcony was fine. Plenty of room for two to sit or lounge. Continue reading... Great Ship, Great Cruise

Celebrity Eclipse Baltic Again, 3 Years On by reisende Eclipse of course in unusual when sailing out of Southampton. Firstly, it provides kettles for all its passengers in the stateroom (I’m told they miraculously appear/disappear half way across the Atlantic) and secondly the international mix of passengers is heavily skewed to the UK (in this case 75%) so it is a very different sailing. TUI Discovery Good Cruise, but a Few Niggles by Dobermenn At night we ate in 47 - the main dining room twice. Food was very good, but portion size was rather small. MSC Splendida Splendida Short Hop by 1fifthavenue On both days we took breakfast in the main dining room. I had eggs Benedict with a side order of smoked salmon which was lovely. My partner had salmon and MSC Express, their version of a Full English. The coffee in the dining room isn't the best, so it would be my tip here to get yourself a latte or cappuccino from one of the bars to take in with you :) Continue reading... Harmony of the Seas Fanatastic, Once Completed! by Cruisingcouple22 Children’s play area looks awesome, makes me wish I was a child again! Numerous hot tubs, I love the cantilevered ones, views that can’t be beaten. Karaoke is always fun and was packed on our first night. Wow bands will cost you $5, but if you already have some can be reprogrammed, so don’t forget to bring them. Suite guest get them free. Royal IQ is much better on this ship. Continue reading... Regal Princess A good cruise overall, with a few areas that can be improved on. by GX pilot We liked the evening entertainment - the four production shows were excellent, the magician outstanding and the folklore troupe from St Petersburg absolutely brilliant. They had a really good male singer one evening, and Jo Little, a Yorkshire comedienne on the last night who was brilliant too. Plus a Beatles tribute act who were pretty good and very enthusiastic. Music in the Piazza came from a Latin band, and a very good band from St Lucia called Steele. Continue reading... A good cruise overall, with a few areas that can be improved on.

Celebrity Eclipse Very Good, but a Few Buts by SuffolkCarol We did not have a set dining time and this worked well, either sharing a table and meeting others or alone. The food in the main dining room was very good - wide range of choices and apart from one awful fish and chips meal, all others were tasty, well presented and of good quality. We sometimes ate in the buffet for breakfast or lunch - a wide variety of dishes are offered of international cuisine. Whilst this is essentially a large self service cafeteria, the quality was generally good. Continue reading... Very Good, but a Few Buts

Harmony of the Seas Harmony has the WOW factor. by Mad RCI fan This time I never experienced any specialality resturants apart from the wonderful tapas in Vintages. I had dining in the American Icon restaurant and was lucky to have Denisse and Georgi to take care of us. The food was for me amazing with quite a few new dishes again WOW I felt so guilty one night with a choice of two main dishes to choose from. Thanks to Denisse I had both and felt very very full, the food was amazing I have to say. Continue reading... Harmony has the WOW factor.

Oceania Regatta First Time (and Not the Last) on Oceania by Listonian It was a memorable sail through the labyrinth of Alaskan sea ways and the captain plotted a very interesting course which took us very close ( a few hundred yards) to the Hubbard Glacier which obligingly "calved" spectacularly whilst we were there. Celebrity Eclipse Beautiful Iceland, Beautiful Eclipse by MrsNorman The weather in Iceland was superb, and to approach the country in sunshine with beautiful blue skies contrasting with the black mountains with snow on top and in their crevices was one of my best memories of the trip. Our first port, Akureyri is in the North and that terrain, unhospitable and uninhabited was our first view. We had booked the Jewels of the North excursion, and saw the Godfoss waterfall, and an active volcanic area with boiling springs and molten lava. Continue reading... Safari Endeavour Excellent! by Wing_Watcher We woke up at about 6am to find ourselves slowly making our way into Endicott Arm towards Dawes glacier. We waived between growlers (small icebergs) until we could see the end of the glacier about a mile away. Breakfast then out to listen to the glacier creak and explode as the force of nature pushed it towards us. In turn we climbed onto the zodiacs and made our way through the floating ice towards the wall of blue. We kept to about 1/4 mile away but calving ice still made the zodiac rise and fall with the waves. Continue reading... Excellent!

Queen Mary 2 Queen Mary 2 East Bound May 17th 2016. Oh what a Joy!! by DadTheBigKid Overall a magnificent voyage and we felt so at home. Forget tales of dress codes and stuffiness. We fully intended to enjoy what we did and not what others may or may not be doing. The Queen Mary 2 made it so easy to feel at home while also feeling decadent and spoilt. Yes drinks are expensive and dress codes are expected but you know that before you get on board, embrace what you want to do and focus on that alone and the QM2 will not disappoint, it really will not. Norwegian Jade Another Good Jade Cruise by James O In my opinion the Jade is a perfect size for a cruise ship. Large enough to have plenty of variety with regards to dining, bars and entertainment but small enough to feel friendly and welcoming. This cruise was full yet there was never any problem getting away from the crowds. Unless you want to stay around the pool which of course is really busy, there are numerous decks which you can virtually have all to yourself, even on sea days. Continue reading... Celebrity Solstice Tahitan Treasures Cruise - 09 April 2016 by Suzz1964 We did the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb and other tours while in Sydney awaiting our cruise on April 9th. We have sailed on many Celebrity Cruises over the past, almost 7 years, and this was third time on the Solstice. As this ship is 8 years old, I was expecting it to be a little tired, however, not so, it was still lovely, granted some minor repairs were being carried out, but nothing drastic. Continue reading... Braemar A good four star cruise to some unusual ports by gbs1112 The menus are attractively put together and you can eat well but not entirely consistently. The variability reduces the best grade to four star. The chef's strong point is soups and meats and we enjoyed good Beef Wellington, duck, lamb shank and liver cooked Berlin style, as well as steak sandwiches. These were up to five star cruise standard. Continue reading... A good four star cruise to some unusual ports.

Thomson Celebration A Caribbean Adventure by oilslicknick I have to say that the whole experience was absolutely brilliant, the ship although getting a little long in the tooth at 30 years old is really lovely and being a smaller ship than some of the monsters we parked up next to she has a very friendly atmosphere and with fewer people on board you can make friends a lot easier, the on board entertainment was superb and the staff on board where so hard working and happy to please and nothing was too much trouble. Azura Excellent Short Cruise On a Lovely Ship by tonyrguk The entertainment was very good with so much packed into a short cruise, we thought the Headliners put on some good shows and were very professional, we especially enjoyed the 80's 'Electric Avenue' show, the guest artists that we saw were a Bruno Mars tribute act, the Beatles Experience and a fantastic jazz/soul singer who were all far better than the sugary naff entertainment we had on RCI so well done P&O, the entertainment team worked hard and were fun to watch. Sapphire Princess Loved the Sapphire by bwindi

We loved the Atrium Deck 5 which differs from the Diamond. Here you can have a glass of wine at Vines and then next to this our very favourite place – Alfredos. We often had a pizza here with a chilled glass of Bud after a long day tour in the heat of the tropics. We would then saunter over to the other side of the Piazza to the International Café to choose dessert and a cappuccino. We had purchased a coffee card and our first cappuccinos came with little dogs fashioned into the foam. Such care and service was ever present here and we absolutely loved it. Continue reading... Marco Polo Fun and Well Organised by Jenthesailor

This was our first cruise and we really enjoyed the whole experience. Embarkation was a very smooth process ;taking less than an hour from arrival at the car park to eating our lunch aboard. It was well organised and we were instructed where to go clearly throughout. We had a superior cabin on the 9th Deck and it had two windows which was a nice surprise. The furniture and fittings had seen better days but everything was clean and functional - precisely what I expected from CMV's photos and the price I paid. The room was cleaned twice a day and we opted to have a continental breakfast in bed the majority of the mornings. Continue reading... Fun and Well Organised

Norwegian Breakaway Well Done NCL by lesmac24

The dining facilities on the ship are probably NCL's best feature. we bought a 3 meal speciality package and it was well worth the money. The main dining rooms had varied menu's and the meals were nice and hot. There are approx 6 free restaurants on board, this included the 3 main dining rooms, The irish bar, noodle bar and the garden cafe. My only criticism was the Speigal tent. We had previously gone to the venue on the NCL epic and felt this was the highlight of the cruise. On the breakaway the entertainment was not a patch on the epic.. Continue reading... MSC Preziosa Excellent Preziosa Cruise by Bodster

I have just returned from an excellent 7 night cruise on the MSC Preziosa.

I travelled with my partner and our 2 boys aged 9 and 6. We flew from Gatwick (more about that later) to Genoa. Transfer to the ship was no problem and easy as it’s only a short journey. Check in at Genoa to board the ship was very efficient, we had the Aurea experience which helped as we had an express check in (or something similar). There was no hard sell as other reviews have mentioned, there is a lot of sales reps from the ship trying to sell add-ons but maybe they knew the package we had but we were onboard in no time. Norwegian Spirit The Sweetest Cruise by ManchesterG

Where do i start? What a great cruise. Some of the criticisms I have read are totally unjustified. Yes it is an older ship, but tired definitely not. We arrived on a warm spring day and parked at the car park by the terminal. Very convenient and easy. Checked in around 1130 with no queues. We had suite 9212 so we were directed to the VIP area for snacks. No time for these as Patrick our concierge arrived to escort us onto the ship. It was great to see him again as we had sailed with him on the Norwegian Pearl 3 years ago. He is the best! Straight to Cagneys for cocktails and lunch. Continue reading... Balmoral Another Enjoyable Cruise with Fred by Spitfire24

‘Easter Ireland’ on board Balmoral was our second cruise with Fred Olsen (last year’s ‘Round Britain’ cruise on Braemar was the first) and our ninth cruise to date. We came back a second time because the ‘value for money proposition’ is unbeatable. It’s interesting to read two very recent reviews of this same Cruise which are so divergent. The top-end suite-guests could not be more complimentary; the outside-cabin guests were to my mind unreasonable. We always travel pretty near the bottom-end – but we enjoy the same food, entertainment and facilities as those who pay top-dollar. Continue reading... Another Enjoyable Cruise with Fred
