you received an email, but did they actually charge your card you used org purchase with for it ? thanks , i think this is what a few ppl wanted to know
The email lists it as a "Penalty Assessed" so I am assuming it will be deducted from my FCC as I had Carnival Insurance. To answer your question, no, it was not charged additionally to my credit card.

I haven't had a really good Guy's burger since the restart either, sadly. I'm not ready to write them off but I don't look forward to them like I used to.
My thoughts exactly! Guys used to be an every day lunch choice for me and on our last cruise of 8 days I only ate there twice and both times it was just alright. I found myself repeatedly using the phrase "It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't too good either!" The food, as a whole, seems to be "just okay." Never before, in all my 18 cruises, have I opted for Lucky Charms for breakfast 3 out of 8 mornings until being on the Spirit to Alaska two weeks ago.

If your husband requested time off and it was not approved then send the bill to his job with an itimized statement of damages including this No Show and ask his work for a 100 percent Future Cruise with Air for both of you.
That would be nice! I've had more than a few choice words for his employer unfortunately, he really likes his job!

Having looked up the date I received the email I think I might know what happened.
We were cruising three people, myself as passenger #1, my husband as passenger #2 and our child as #3. Passengers 1 and 2 were to receive OBC of $100 per person and when I realized they were not giving my husbands OBC I went to guest services to inquire. I figured Carnival would automatically treat our daughter as passenger #2 and since passenger #3 is sailing at a deeply discounted rate I wasn't going to put in a claim with my Carnival insurance (Cancel any reason for 25%). Guest Services rep said no, husband stays as #2 passenger (No OBC) and daughter stays as #3. I asked if I were to use my Carnival insurance would it go towards my husband as #2 passenger and therefore refund his cruise fare (significantly higher than #3) at 75%? She said yes and now I'm thinking she went ahead and cancelled my husband and got the "refund" started but all I received was the notification of the penalty amount. Whew, sorry, that was long!! Now I just need to call Carnival and see if my thought process is correct. Thank you for the questions, it made me think a little harder! 😆

We were booked in a suite with 3 occupants and my husband was listed as second passenger. On the 18th I received an email stating the penalty was assessed as a cancellation. I do intend to call Carnival, I just didn't want to waste anyones time if this was a normal situation that I was simply unaware of. We've had a no show in the past with no penalty added and I thought it would be the same this time.

We cruised the Carnival Spirit on July 13th to Alaska and my husband was unable to cruise (work didn't approve his time off), instead of cancel he just didn't show up and Carnival has assessed a $239.00 penalty. I haven't called yet but was wondering if anyone is familiar with such a fee? Also, we did have Carnival insurance but the fee was assessed before ever submitting a claim.

I turn Platinum on our upcoming cruise however, due to a couple of "Girls Cruises" my husband isn't quite there yet. My question is, are our spouses allowed to join or do we attend alone?

We are going to the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Grand Turk. Would she be allowed on those ports without a passport or will she be made to stay on the ship?
Yes, she will be allowed to disembark without a passport. we sailed on the Mardi Gras in February and our whole party used Birth Certificates. Just a side note, if you can get her to get on it, we just had an 8 week turnaround time on our passports. Mailed on 4/19/22 and received them 6/17/22. When renewing you have to send the expired passport, not your birth certificate, so it won't be an issue if it's not back before the cruise.

Yes, you can use birth certificate and state issued identification.

Thank you for the update! Enjoy your cruise!

We have sailed September 2021 and February and March 2022. 7 people total on a combination of the 3 cruises. 2 only had J&J vaccine, 2 had 2 doses, 3 with two doses and 1 booster, all 7 of us have returned from our cruises healthy and COVID free.

Sailing in 6 weeks, excited for a Spirit review! If able to answer, I have a couple questions. Does Spirit have self service laundry? I don't need laundry but was curious about iron and ironing board. Also, I saw the Splendor has a "game" in the arcade that is full of ducks, I love the ducks, does the Spirit arcade have this as well? I feel so silly even asking about ducks but sometimes it's the little things that excite us the most! 😂

If you haven't been yet, I suggest you go over to the Alaska boards. You'll get more specific information there on questions concerning tours. We'll be on the Spirit mid July, doing the same cruise! Can't wait!
We're on this cruise as well! We first cruised for our honeymoon and it was then that my husband said he wanted to cruise to Alaska, that was 29 years ago and he's finally getting his Alaska cruise for our anniversary! Super excited and nervous (we're from Arizona and I'm afraid I'll be too cold for 8 days straight 🤣) for this experience!

Each person is allowed to bring a 12 pack of soda. No longer allowed in your checked in luggage, you must carry it on with you.

I wonder if I should have specified Carnival Gift cards? Hopefully it works for Princess as well!

We are booked on a 10:15 am flight...is it even doable? I don't know what I was thinking when I booked it!

Off topic, sorry, but I have searched and searched and can't find an answer. We are booked on Spirit in July (happy to see the positive votes) and I am wondering if a 10:30 am return flight is doable? Thank you for any info.

- Buffettfan 225 - Thank you for all the info. We will be cruising on March 18th with two teens and this ship is new to us. I love the picture of you against the funnel, I hope I remember to take one similar!

What time are the comedy shows for teens and families? Will 6:00 pm dinner allow to see the shows? Thank you!

They are still complimentary. If you have Your Time Dining then they are officially part of your evening dining experience -- and your Sign and Sail card will even say so. 🙂
We have assigned dining, does this impact the availability to us? I don't know if I'm understanding this correctly. 😐

My first thought was playing Pig Mania as a child, I seem to recall something about a pig sty.

On the positive side, I really enjoyed the evening chocolate on the pillow, I do wish Carnival would do that again!

Panorama vs Mardi Gras
in Carnival Cruise Lines

We did not care for the Mardi Gras and have really enjoyed the Panorama.
