I am guessing there is nothing to get excited about the men’s steam/sauna on Celebrity Summit any longer?  I really enjoyed the large portholes before Summit was “improved.”

The sauna on the Summit is small, but adequate. It can fit about 3-4 guys comfortably and there are some nice showers to cool off in. No water fountain or anything, so bring a bottle of water. I did two 5 day back to back cruises in January and the first sailing was very active and the second sailing it was rarely used.

The Norwegian Dawn underwent a refurbishment in 2021. I believe these pictures and information are outdated regarding the Dawn.

Those pictures are still accurate. If you look at the deck plan for the Dawn, you can see the thermal suite at the aft on Deck 10. Not free with only a coed area in the center. Sauna and steam room are in the locker rooms, as shown above.

  3. I'm FINALLY all caught up. Took a work trip to Australia and was legitimately annoyed I didn't have time to read your review at night. Such a great read--thanks for bringing us along and letting us live vicariously through you!

Funny about people sitting outside of bars when there is plenty of seating inside. Saw the same thing down there, but it's freaking winter! Why sit under a heater when you can sit indoors, mate? Also, troughs are alive and well down there too. I have my eye on some Luminosa sailings in 2025. I think I should have enough Chase points to cover the flights...let's hope...

No one should ever judge drinking at the airport, at any time.  We all know it's a lawless land, and people are fighting battles out there!

1000% agree! It took Delta 4 hours to find my bag, I went to a shady hotel by the Detroit airport (hooker walked out when I walked in and the front desk was behind bulletproof glass...) that Delta arranged for me. All I wanted was a shower, but it was freaking disassembled with exposed pipe in the wall. I touched as little as possible, charge my phone, and left for the airport at 3am. I earned that 6am drink!

this just reminds me of the time my best friend's mom hit a bird (or really, the bird hit US) on our way to a chorus thing at an amusement park in middle school. it was loud and scary, but she just kept going. I still think about it frequently ~30 years later.  I'm sure a plane can handle hitting a bird 😂

1 bird could take out an engine. A flock of birds caused that US Airways plane to land in the hudson river years ago.

  6. I saw you liked the Broadway Cabaret. Is the really amazing male singer still there? I think during Velvet he did a toned down, "coffee shop" version of Stayin' Alive that was incredible!

Also, Benedict was another amazing bartender I had last month! He was at Maltings every night with Evangeline.

Is your dad a big Elvis fan? I'm seeing family in Memphis right now actually.

  7. Hope you both had an amazing day! Look for a bartender named Evangeline. Last month she was in Maltings and is AMAZING! She is hilarious. Danny was at the pool bar during the day and would make really fun puzzles using stir sticks. He kept me occupied for like an hour one afternoon with a couple.

Check out the guitarist named Drake Allen. He is extremely talented, especially if you like country music.

I can't wait to be back on the Jewel for my Alaska cruise in September. How have the seas been so far?

Other than bus tours, what have been you least favorite Alaskan excursions? Having trouble deciding on what to do.
