Sailing on Adventure  of the seas, a couple  had their pinnacle  achievement  on the navigation  bridge  with large spread  of food and champagne  toast with most of the officers

Wonder what they did to get that? Must have known someone.

I like having the presentations in the smaller lounges on the older ships as opposed to the arena style of the AquaTheater.   They seem more intimate and as a bonus you can hear everything.

Thanks, I don’t think I would like the aqua theater.

I "officially" reached Pinnacle on the cruise after my celebration.  This is because my friends were getting off, while I was still on the next cruise.  One of them went to the LA and requested I be "promoted" on the current cruise they were on so they could celebrate with me. We drank my champagne and ate my pineapple-shaped cake at dinner that night!

Next cruise I reached Pinnacle, and my next one coming up in September another friend and I, also a "baby" Pinnacle, with get our full perks together.

What ship was this on? Do they do the pineapple cake on all the ships? Any dancing or any type of partying?

We made pinnacle on a three day Enchantment. They do not have a top tier event or any kind of celebration but offered to do a staged photo opportunity for us.

We were also booked on the following four night cruise so they acknowledged us during the captains welcome that was held in the centrum. Basically just an acknowledgment, no other type of celebration, like we’ve seen others receive. No problem -We have our photo and that is really all we wanted.

we never considered any specific ship for when we reached pinnacle nor do we consider it for our milestones.

That’s strange they don’t do any kind of top tier event or celebration. I thought all the ships did something, but wasn’t sure what they did.

Recognized (certificate/photo) in the Top Tier event on the cruise when you reach 700 points.

Pinnacle benefits are awarded the next cruise.

What about the ships? Do some do it differently or are they all the same? What about ships that don’t have the aqua theater where I have seen them? Where do they hold those and what are they like?

once on rcl was enough. I can do better at home and they taste like scallops not little bits of fish. ..even the small ones I can buy still taste like scallops.

I get it they ran out escargot and i love scallops cooked in butter ... those I didn't like. Just little bits of who could tell. I want to bite into them and they taste like a scallop.

Maybe next time they run out of escargot I'll try them again but other things i liked better. Wasnt a biggie. I dont order escargot but like scallops so tried them once. So small hard to get them onto the tiny fork. I'd rather have one whole scallop, even the small ones. Maybe I'm spoiled at home.

My gripe was so small, 1/4 inch pieces almost not recognizable. No biggie to me. Worth trying one night. I didnt ask for seconds though lol and he offered.

I had the scallops before. They were tasty, but were smaller than my thumb nail. So tiny.

If you like it, and you know you're paying for gold plated chain (not solid gold chain), then go for it!  I feel bad for people who mistakenly believe it's solid gold chain as the hype is a bit misleading.:classic_ohmy:

Thanks, yes I know it’s plated. I have never been interested in it, except couldn’t find a mask holder on board so I was wondering if they could make one. Guess I don’t want to risk it not being on Adventure next month so I’ll just have to find something at home.

That’s terrible people are fooled into believing it’s real gold.

We always referred to it as junk by the inch. But if it's your thing enjoy it :classic_wink:

I guess I should have stated that it was gold plated. I’m aware of that and was just wanting some to make a mask holder. I don’t think anywhere does anyone call real gold “gold by the inch”. At least not that I’m aware of.

This is for those that haven't been since, you know . . .

The muster drill has gone. The worst inconvenience of any cruise is finished.

Everything is all about the App. This is clearly going to grow in importance, so if you have technophobes in the family, well I'm afraid they will have to get with the programme as this progresses. It really is good though, so don't be scared (that's a message just for my father in law 🤣)

The Diamond Lounge was the same as usual, despite the five drinks vouchers. This was nice, as it enabled people to enjoy their nibbles and socialise with others.

Charging for ship amenities such as IFly, North Star etc., is unacceptable. These amazing ships are built and promoted on the basis of their innovative facilities. Charging is one thing, but sawing passengers off with outrageously expensive prices is disgraceful. Just getting that off my chest 😉

The food was the best I have experienced for many years. From the nibbles in the lounge to the Windjammer offerings. Everything was outstanding. Pies in Sorrentos. Pies! Brilliant.

The internet is now two speed. If you don't buy the most expensive version, you will experience old fashioned connection issues. It is sad to say, but knowingly selling an inferior product is not good practice.

This is the first all-British cruise I have experienced. For the RCI employees on this board - WE NEED MORE BARS - On three of the six nights there were no available seats in any of the drinking venues. We Brits like a drink, but 🤣

A tip for anybody and everybody - We did not print out our Covid vaccination proof and the NHS App went down while we were checking in. Fortunately, DW saved them in our wallet and remembered last minute - PRINT EVERYTHING FOLKS

If you object to the Covid safety etc., stuff don't let it get to you. The cruise line has had to jump through many hoops to get our holidays back and having just four in the elevator but hundreds everywhere else, and leaving two spaces in the theatre next to you but none in front. A few let it get to them, but just let it go. They are doing their best.

There was one common mantra among senior officers - Everything will be back to normal by next May.

Great info. Thanks for letting us know.

No limes?  Another limeageddon brewing?  Supply chain woes, no doubt.  I'll bet the ship could have acquired some limes at one of the Caribbean ports.  They've been known to acquire seafood ashore during a cruise.  Why not limes?  And ginger ale?  And your diet beverage.

There was a lime shortage on one of our cruises in 2018. You would think they could easily get them from one of the islands. Now sure why they didn’t.
