  1. Have you visited The Bus (the city and county bus service) website? You can use their trip planner to map out your bus trip. Buy the 1-day bus pass so you can ride the buses throughout your day. The cost is US$5.50 (US$2.00 if you’re 65 years of age or older). Let the bus driver know you would like the 1-day pass when you board.

  2. Yes, was prompted to change my password a couple of weeks ago. I also use LastPass as my password manager. I just need to remember my master password and I can access my data across various devices and OSes. Data is highly encrypted on LastPass servers. If their server is hacked, my password data would just look like gibberish, nothing discernible.

We want one of these that does LA to Sydney then back so we can book it as a b2b!  Agree it does have to go to Bora Bora - even though they have cannibals there...

That was a fun day. We were on this boat with you. That guy was crazy and funny. Remember when he mooned the other boat?

  4. I don’t know offhand if there are any day use hotels in San Francisco but I think the Embassy Suites near SFO does. It would at least put you near the airport. Alternatively, there is luggage storage available at the California Welcome Center at Pier 39. A short walk from the cruise terminal. Store your luggage there and spend the day sightseeing.

So if I have a ship internet plan and WiFi calling enabled on my phone, then I can text while on board without additional fees?

Yes, provided both your carrier and your phone supports WiFi calling. It uses your current mobile plan features, ie. call minutes, text limits, etc.

My apologies if this has been discussed before but would someone recommend a centrally located Singapore hotel to stay at pre-cruise?

What type of budget are you working with?

  7. You’re welcome. Here’s a link to check if your airline participates in Changi early checkin program: http://www.changiairport.com/en/airport-guide/departing/checking-in/early-check-in.html.

Here’s info on the Left Baggage service: http://www.changiairport.com/en/airport-guide/facilities-and-services/baggage-storage.html

Airport to central Singapore by taxi is about 30 minutes give or take. We’ve even thought of visiting Universal Studios Singapore on Sentosa for the day.

  8. We also have a late flight (10:40 pm on United) from Changi in February. Our current plans are to leave our luggage at the airport and go back into Singapore. Unfortunately, United doesn’t participate, currently, in the airport’s early checkin program so we’ll have to leave our luggage at one of the Left Baggage counters for the day. We’re arriving a day early for our cruise and touring around then so we’re hoping to hit some of the spots we didn’t get to see while waiting for our flight back home.

Ah, you're right.  The obstruction is because it's not glass on the bottom part.  This is what it says for those cabins:

" PART OBSTRUCTED VIEWNON-GLASS BALC RAIL BALCONY ACCESS WHEN IN PORT ONLY "

I think I'll call my TA and price those couple of rooms.  I've got a casino offer on my room now and have no idea how that made the fare lower or if it's only for certain categories.  Thanks for the help!

You're welcome. The part of the description where it says, "BALCONY ACCESS WHEN IN PORT ONLY" is puzzling because the balcony slider was never locked. The only thing that prevented us from using the balcony was if it was really windy. Also, you had to keep the balcony light off at night so it wouldn't affect the bridge. Our fondest memory of that cabin was during the sail into Venice, the view from that balcony was spectacular.
