In looking at videos of the Sun Princess dining room(s), it looks like they have moved to mostly 2 and 4 person tables, perhaps some 6 tops.  Have they effectively done away with the larger tables?  Despite being a introvert I've historically enjoyed dining at the larger tables and talking with people I don't know.

If that is the case that will be a bit of a bummer on our upcoming 16 night TA.  Don't get me wrong, love my wife and the friends who are traveling with us, but I know their life story and experiences.  Let me learn about someone new!

    I agree with you Robert

Me and the wife are on the Sun in nine weeks time and booked on second sitting in the Deck 6 MDR. We would miss not being on a table of eight each night when not eating in the specialty restaurants.

  2. Rest assured there will be more people "dressed up" sailing from Southampton as there will more UK cruisers aboard who tend to smarten up in the evenings. But there is no requirement to wear a suit & tie.

There will be two "dressing up" nights per week. I'll avoid the word "formal" as it seems to upset some cruisers from across the pond!😂

My wife loves to dress up regardless of the suggested dress code for each evening. I like to complement her attire and dress smartly too. It also gets me serious "brownie points"😉. What others choose to wear I really don't give a monkey's!

It was definitely windy when we were there!  They were handing out sickness bags on the ferry to Delos.

It's always windy in Mykonos. But on one occasion it was so calm even our Greek Captain expressed surprise at how still the Sea was!

  4. I've booked EzAir for our Sun Princess cruise this August.

I specifically asked my TA to confirm we each get one hold luggage included in the airfare. It is.

All our previous Med' fly cruises included hold luggage up to 23 kgs, regardless of the airline. Some do differ with the size and weight of the cabin bag however.

Is it possible to book it as two one-week sailings as a b2b? Then you’d get double the dinners and sometimes the fare is cheaper.

It's not cheaper for us in the UK. I'd get less Shareholders OBC too.

For the sake of two additional specialty dinners it's a balls ache to achieve!

Yes, there are a couple of those I’ve seen, however they look more like the Starbucks toaster ovens than a microwave, so may blend into the other appliances sometimes.

I actually just got some meatballs that were heated in that microwave and they were warm but the center wasn’t quite warm enough. Easy to ask for a reheat though once you know where to go.

    Excellent news. Thanks.

I have kept well clear of ships' buffets as the food is ALWAYS too cold for me.

I also always tell my table waiter in the MDR at the start of a cruise that I like my food hot. They therefore leave mine until the last to be served on a table of 8, and it is indeed hot enough to my liking.

BTW, we are on Sun second week. There is a repeat of menu from first week

Also, there are complaints that food is not very hot, especially in Eatery.

I'm not surprised food isn't hot in the Eatery. it's the same on all Princess and Celebrity ships. Why can't they have microwave ovens for passengers to use, who like their food piping hot like i do!

  8. I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago with the Sky Princess booking for 2025. Never gave it another thought until I read this thread.

Gave it another go, and this time it worked. The App shows it with our Sun Princess 2024 booking.

I really wouldn't waste time calling Princess over it.

....................for example, the shower is what I imagine showers on airplanes in economy would be like. Very efficient, but very small. Any of you having some vaycay plans for fun sexy time in the shower need to rethink that,  because unless you trained extensively with Cirque du Soleil, it is just not happening.

I guess the balcony isn't an option either for the mini suite cabana dwellers?

So glad we have a normal balcony that can't be overlooked 🤪
