If you feel the need to go to Cabo Wabo... my advice?...go in, have a drink, then go out the back door, down the stairs to Taco Loco and Rip's bar. It's a great little courtyard with a dozen or so vendors selling all sorts of wonderous and neccessary nicnacs and such.
Taco Loco rates very high on our favorite place to eat (just barely lagging behind Gordo LeLe's, and Captain Tony's)
Have some great tacos at Taco Loco and take them three steps to Rip's Bar and watch the magic when you order Rainbow Shots.
Strollng back to the ship, cut through to the Marina, and stop at Captain Tony's for a cold Sol Beer, and the best "people watching" location (IMO) on the Marina!
Good Advise, although, have you been to the new La Casa Country? It just opened in June and has a pretty nice people viewing bar. Captain Tony's has great food and great prices. The only thing I don't like it the hike upstairs to the only bathroom.

Those reviews were all from the main cantina which is only open at night. We have been going there almost every year since they opened and have also never encountered anything like that but it is a totally different atmosphere there late at night and yes, there are bouncers and security guards.
It's a completely different experience during the day, very quiet and sedate, so if you really want to say you've been there, don't be afraid to go. The one and only time we went there at night, we were met by security who had the velvet rope pulled across, they stood there and stared at us for awhile (we're in our 50's so not too menacing). They finally parted the rope, we found a table, sat for 15 minutes, were never acknowledged by wait staff and left. We just wanted to see it at night and now that we have, been there, done that. There are so many great places to hang out in Cabo, it's not necessary to patronize the expensive ones.

Is it my imagination or was this thread missing for awhile? I was looking for it and couldn't find it.
Here's another vote for Sleepless Lobster. They have great prices and great food.

I know someone that has an awesome condo there:confused: CW where are you:confused:

Going to my awesome condo on September 9 for two weeks. Can't wait!
I like Gordo's Carne Asada tacos. BTW, one is plenty.

On the ship. They will be set up near the lido pool when you board and I think other times/places.
Also at Formalities, or order from your head waiter in the MDR. The list that Sweetone 30 posted is not the current list. I cannot find the current list, but I had coupons left over from my last cruise for the Premium Package and this is what is now being offered:
Domaine Chandon Brut
Selbach-Oster, Kabinett Riesling
Santa Margarita, Pinot Grigio
Kim Crawford, Sauvignon Blanc
Beringer, Chardonnay
LaBoure-Roi, Pouilly-Fuisse
Kendall Jackson, Vintner's Reserve, Pinot Noir
Hess Select, Cabernet Sauvignon
Castello D'albota, Chianti Classico Reserve
Wolf Blass, President Selection, Shiraz

Got Caught last week....I got a letter in my luggage Rum runners get detroyed and you lose the booze...I Had 8 small bottles of Baileys also in sealed bottles that were returned the final night....
If you look at Woodey's cruise list, you will see he got caught on the Spirit. So did I last Sunday. And my rum runner was not packed with anything that would raise suspicion. I had it wrapped up in my black bathing suit, in the dead center of the suitcase with clothes on top. In fact, the only thing in that suitcase were clothes, not even toiletries, so apparently, San Diego has the Super Scanners. I did talk with one other who did not get caught, so there still is the luck of the draw, but San Diego is usually the most laid back port.

We checked in by 10:30 a.m. - had VIP boarding and tags - everyone in our party received their luggage and mine showed up about 9:30 p.m.
It's been my observation that the earlier I get to port and check in my luggage, the later the luggage arrives, VIP tags and all. I think the earlier stuff gets put at the bottom of the pile. Just my theory.

There's a question. Does anyone know if we can tract these bands, like the piano bar players are being tracked? I've booked cruises based upon the piano bar player and I might do the same for the Music bands.
-
Sorry to hijack the thread, but has anybody seen Music Network or know if they are still playing. These guys blew my mind, and I have been lucky enough to be on 3 cruises they were on. They played a lot of hard classic rock and did a 30 minute medley of Queen songs which included Bohemian Rhapsody in it's entireity. If you're familar with the song, you can't even imagine 4 Filipinos, who can barely speak English, being able to play it without hacking it. I've never even seen a cover band attempt it, but these guys made it seem easy. My jaw was on the floor. Best cover band I have seen, on land or sea.
They were on the Spirit last November Thanksgiving cruise and they are awesome. They played Pour Some Sugar on Me and sounded like Def Leppard. We had all kinds of silly props, funny glasses and such, and they wore them while they played. I hope to run into them again.

Hey, I liked the Cat 12 on the Fantasy class ships better with the glass partition and the L-shaped couch.
Newer is not always better.:(

None of the above.
Now let me get this straight, they have given enormous raises to crew members and that's why they need to start charging extra? NOT!
Oh, the fuel cost more. They already hit us with that cost once and are poised to do it again at anytime.
Listen up cruise lines, I have been on 38 cruises and have 10 more booked and usually leave each ship with a pretty good size bar tab. Do you really want to loose my business?
People that use room service already give a tip, what in the devil are you charging for?
Two of those 10 booked cruises are on Royal Caribbean, looks like I'll be cancelling those.

One Gold bracelet....free
charms from ports of call....free
memories of the cruises.........PRICELESS
See, now that's the right attitude!
One man's crap is another woman's treasure.
-
But ordering them is no fun, heck, I book cruises just so I can collect the charm. I only have 4 left to go! It's all about the hunt!
-
It's really about the hunt and conquer. DH and I look for cruises with the remaining ports in the itineary. I only have 4 to go. My mother cheated and bought the charms, what fun is that?

La Casa Country just opened in June. It is near the Mall on the Marina. If you know where the boat launch ramp is, it's on the mall side of the ramp.
And here's another vote for Solomon's Landing. Little pricey, but really good.
