  1. Sitting at the stern and eating breakfast is one of my favorite times of day. Quieter and not as busy as later in the day. I am surprised not more people have figured that out yet. Shhh - let's not broadcast it too loudly. And.... sushi is definitely one of our "things". We are scheduled for Select Dining at 7:30pm. So, sushi at 5:30 will fit in just perfectly! Thanks for the tips!

  2. Hi! Haven't cruised Celebrity for many years now and we are so excited about our upcoming Reflection cruise. I see so many unhappy posts due to recent cutbacks, but I am sure there are still lots of awesome moments and things to enjoy on the cruise. We just love to cruise. So, please tell us what we should be sure not to miss. (We are booked in a regular veranda cabin, so we can't partake any special suite-only dining/bar venues, but that's OK.) Thanks to all!!

  3. Looking forward to our upcoming cruise on the Reflection, but I am a bit concerned about keeping straight what is and what is not an extra fee for the food venues. We normally cruise Carnival and there are only a couple extra-fee dinner restaurants and a extra-fee cafe for coffees/teas/pastries. (However, who knows - may be different now, too. Have not cruised for over two yrs due to needing to stay to close to DM who had Alzheimer's.) Is it clearly stated what would be an extra fee? Would like to avoid any surprises after placing order. Thanks to all of you experienced Celebrity cruisers! :)

  4. I also am essentially a Newbie to Celebrity (we once sailed Celebrity 19 years ago). We bring on the allowable wine bottles, which we buy in the embarkation port along with a small corkscrew. We travel only with carry-on bags and as such a corkscrew is not allowed. I am thrilled to hear that your cabin steward will give you a corkscrew!! :) Is this pretty much the norm? Why spend the extra $'s, but I do not want to be on board and not able to drink our wine!! Thanks so much to all of you!!

  5. We will be on the Reflection and are there any hooks mounted elsewhere in the cabin for hanging clothes, etc? Carnival ships have two heavy-duty hooks mounted permanently on the wall outside the bathroom. It is something I hadn't even thought about. I have some heavy duty clothespins with a round hanger-type hook on them. I can bring those if I need to to hang stuff in bathroom. Thanks!

  6. Hi! We will be cruising on the Reflection and are wondering if there are perfumes/colognes available for sale in the shops on the ship? DH and I like to sample different perfumes/colognes each evening and then usually buy the ones we like best. Sorry, if this seems like an odd question, but it has become a little tradition we enjoy (albeit a bit unusual I guess) and it has been a while since we cruised on Celebrity. Thanks for your help! :)

  7. Ah, yes. That makes sense about the copyright. Thanks for clearing that up. I wondered as well if it might relate to Cruise Drink Plan, since some of those insignias are shown near bars. We haven't cruised in about two years and don't recall seeing it back then. Thanks! :)

  8. Hello! Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does "CDP" on the Reflection deck plan indicate (as I see on a popular deck plan website)? As you can tell by my signature it has been many years since we sailed Celebrity. I searched and only found posts related to drink plans. Looking forward to the change!!! Thanks!

  9. We too have become pier runner watchers, but not yellers. Last cruise leaving Cozumel, we were 30 or so minutes past departure time and had not yet left. We had a perfect view of the officers in the wings of the bridge and they too were pier runner watchers. However, they were pacing nervously back and forth with arms crossed across their chests. The passengers, about 12 - 15, finally arrived 45 minutes late to board the ship. I have a feeling it was a late Carnival excursion. The reason for the nervous pacing was that Hurricane Rina was approaching! As soon as we were underway the Captain announced we would not be going to Panama or Cost Rica. It was remarkable how quickly the gorgeous azure skies turned to gray ugly clouds with water spouts visible off the ship! We basically got out of there just in time!!
