It may also be that they didn't go to the right deck. At lunch time it's often only part of the dining room that is used

I have called HAL in Rotterdam twice to ask about an upsell (once in January and once last week). I was told on both occasions I would be sent a mail. I didn't get one. Yesterday I e-mailed them, but sill nothing other than the automated reply.
I have purchased upsells several times in the past without difficulty, so this seems rather odd to me. I wish I could do this via Seattle, but they just refer me back to Rotterdam. Any suggestions (cruise is next week)?

We use clear packing tape, then punch a hole in them and fix them on with a cable tie. Strong and doesn't suffer if there is a downpour

We’re keeping our plans as they are. Cruising in 10 days (not in Asia though) and planning future travel. I expect it will all blow over soon enough (like SARS and H1N1). Earlier this week, researchers in Belgium announced they believe an already-existing treatment against malaria is effective against Covid-19.

Thank you, Lauderadle Divers will be perfect. It's walking distance from our hotel!

I see Koningsdam!

Veendam just sailed past the camera

My husband needs to buy a new mask and I need to buy a new snorkel. Can anyone recommend a dive shop in FLL?

Watching both ships approach on Marine Traffic!

Exctited because next time Koningsdam does that cruise (4 March) I'll be on board!

Thank you very much for your advice. I'll keep my options open, either Pigeon Island or Vigie Beach, depending on how we feel on the day
-
Just looking at an aerial photo. Does Vigie beach also include the whole strip along the airport parking lot?
-
We were planning on doing Pigeon Island next month, but I've been on Trip Advisor and there are lots of comments about (very) pushy vendors. Is this the case even inside the national park bit? If so, we'll probably be heading somewhere else, like Vigie maybe.

I love to read books based wherever I am travelling, so am looking for advice on books based in the Caribbean and Miami. Do you have any suggestions for me?

I have never stayed in Rotterdam as we drive up from Brussels, which is just 2 hours away. We do park at the SS Rotterdam though and I think it would be great to stay there before a cruise. The alternative, as others have said, is the Hotel New York (former HAL Headquarters), which is right where the ship docks. Friends of mine did this and loved it.

Hello from Belgium. We cruised the fjords on Rottedam in June 2019. We had 3 aft cabins, with one being the corner. The balcony on the corner cabin is huge!
I get seasick and was fine. Just too a tablet for the very rough seas that delayed our departure from Rotterdam and after that I was fine.
-
There isn't, so it goes round the corner and it's really big. This was definitely the case in June 2019 for 7076, 6040 was several years ago now, but I don't know why it would change
-
We liked the cabin. Plenty of storage. The balcony is the big attraction though. We did the Norwegian Fjords. Scenic cruising is much enhanced with this type of balcony

Hello. I have stayed in one on deck 6 and one on deck 7. I prefer deck 6 because it's cabins above you and also because you don't get soot (which we did on deck 7)

Yes, you should bring Euros. People have had difficulties paying in $
-
Sounds like they are very well organised! Thank you for the information.
-
Can I ask how many formal nights you had and which nights they were?

Thank you for your review. I'm doing this cruise in March. Can't wait!
Tell us what you miss most when not on a (HAL) cruise...

Just off the Koningsdam. I struggled to get to sleep the first two nights because I missed the humming of the ship and the light motion. Also, on the first morning, I had a short moment when I couldn’t remember where I kept the bowls for my breakfast.
Then, of course, there’s the crew. I am particularly missing Magdalena, Herlina and Aubrey, who can bring sunshine to the dullest of days
