  1. We are in the stateroom that time forgot I think
  2. Ours haven’t got usb ports at all!!! Everything is as old as the bloody hills
  3. I agree No major modifications. Entertainment is pretty pants. A violinist in theatre?? No usbs in cabins, but we came prepared. American diver still here as is the Illusionarium. Miostcof carina is now non-smoking thankfully. But the smell still permeates the rotunda area at 678. Bar offerings are different - no IPAs at all. All lagers and a couple of ciders. Cocktail list has changed too. But they will make off menu ones for you. my biggest gripe is our cabin it is the tiniest cabin ever. Our steward said that they are usually only for one person but they stuck an extra bed in. We arrived to twin beds, no drawers at all and a tiny wardrobe. So a lot of our stuff is in the case under the bed. Our steward changed the bed configuration and we haven’t shuffle sideways to get in it! we requested an accessible cabin as I am disabled….. .customer services said they arrange a move. But we’ve heard nothing. So it looks like we will just have to make it work. Oh and another itinerary change. To be honest I’m past caring. Pass me a cocktail. 🤣🤣🤣
  4. Aboard. Sun is shining. Bushwacker in hand. Have a great day peeps
  5. Oooh I’ve not had that email either - kinda hoping it is La Coruna as the weather will be better. But no biggie. I have been told that the OBC is applied at embarkation. So I’ll be keeping an eye on that!

  7. Thanks for clearing that up. His experience is within a naval shipyard - so potentially different operating systems. It’s looking more hopeful for Thursday 😊
  8. Well, I suppose in the big scheme of things, it’s a first world problem. I have a plan B if necessary 😊
  9. Yes it’s Thursday 6th. We get the 6 hour train journey to Southampton tomorrow. If they start knocking days off at the start of the cruise, after completely changing the blooming itinerary, I will be telling NCL to shove it and going for our plan B 🤣🤣
  10. My husband actually works in a shipyard - lifeboats are loaded before the dry dock is flooded. Also he seems to think that it is all tide dependent, as they need a high tide to open the dock gates to flood it. But obviously you may be better informed, given your experience.
  11. Tuesday 11.50am: Still in dry dock All the lifeboats are still ashore High tide at 4pm Will be watching the situation closely….🤣🙄
  12. Breakaway was lovely. We enjoyed it. Didn’t particularly notice any smoke from casino. But there was a smoking shelter on deck and it was billowing out of it 🤢🤢
  13. We did NYC round trip on Breakaway, in September 2022, after staying 3 nights in Boston. Loved sailing out of NYC! But the weather was very disappointing as in we never got to sit on deck once as it was too cold and sometimes absolutely chucking it down with rain. I am from the English Lake District, so well used to questionable weather, but I don’t like it when I go on holiday! Also some of the ports were disappointing. St John’s sticks out as ‘why are we here’….🤣
  14. Yes. It’s a complete rip off. We priced our cruise with NCL with a one way flight home from Barcelona and it was almost a grand more expensive than without the flight! I ended up sorting our own flights out and paid £239 for two people including 2 checked bags!!
  15. Should we be concerned that Getaway is still in dry dock? If there is a delay, at what point will NCL advise us? We depart for a 6 hour train journey down to Southampton on Wednesday….
  16. This is our cruise….. 🙄 The fact that NCL were still selling original itinerary and you could book it 5 days after we all got our email give us robust evidence of misselling?
  17. Just going to jump on here - this loophole for iPhones and iMessages, is it free then?
  18. NCL have updated their site now…. Just need to see if ship leaves dry dock in time now!!!
  19. Not any more it doesn’t. Quite a big change to itinerary - no Lisbon or Gibraltar - which is disappointing. Also getting a bit twitchy about the dry dock and if it’s going to be able to ‘Getaway’ for 6th June 😩🤣
  20. It’s our 8th NCL cruise. It happened the first time we cruised with them and they removed Santorini. But we’ve not had any itinerary changes on any of our other cruises. We most definitely choose our cruises on the basis of the ports and also we prefer to have no at sea days, or one at a push, as we don’t particularly enjoy them. We’ve now got two at sea days….🙄 The email states that changes have been made ‘due to recent customer feedback and sustainability issues’…. The cynic in me smells copious volumes of BS. It’s money saving badged as customer service and saving the planet. Like I said, it’s not a huge issue in the big scheme of things, but it’s definitely quite annoying. Cruising isn’t a cheap holiday and it feels like we’re not getting what we’ve paid for, while NCL are scaling back their offer, now that we’ve all paid!
  21. Just had an email to inform us that two ports have been removed from our itinerary (Porto and Gibraltar) and replaced with a different port (Vigo) another at sea day. The two ports that have been removed are the main reason we booked this cruise…. NCL have given us $100 OBC as compensation. We are kinda disappointed. Just wondered what we can do/are entitled to? It’s a first world problem, I know, but it’s annoying nonetheless.
  22. Thank you. Might swerve the shuttle then! We are in Boston then NYC for few days before the cruise, and it will be our 4th trip to NYC. So I think we may have a mooch around for a couple of hours. Public transport looks like a good option. Uber to Penn station, train to Newark, Airtrain to terminal.$34 for both of us. It’s just a shame it’s not JFK as it’s a piece of cake getting there on LIRR x
  23. Hello lovely people. We are on Breakaway out of NYC next weekend. We are looking at transfers from cruise terminal out to Newark to pick up our flight home at end of cruise. NCL offer them at a fairly reasonable price door to door. I want to book but I am interested to find out the time of the transfer. NCL can’t give me an answer. We don’t fly until 5.40, but don’t want to be taken to airport at 9am or a similarly early time. Anyone have experience of it or have any clues as to the likely time? Thank you!
