My husband wants to know if the cabin attendant can teach me how to make the bed during our next cruise.  I said I’ll be too busy at the Macallan tasting.  He says “there are many sea days honey”.  😂

What if the cabin attendant teaches your husband how to make the bed during the next cruise?😁

  2. Our cruise was the 9 night Italy/Montenegro/Croatia that ended on Halloween.  It was great!  The crew was super friendly and attentive, the food was very good and there is always something for everyone, drinks were plentiful and entertainment was all around the ship.

The ship itself is not shiny and new and at times there was a musty odor in the corridors but I felt that added to the "ambience".

If you are of a mindset that all must be perfect and shiny and new than this is not the ship for you.  If you can go-with-the-flow then you'll have a great time.

    Have fun!

    1) the general condition of the ship is fine.  It’s not perfect, and they could do more to touch up the rust spots that can be found all over the outside areas.  But the interior spaces are immaculate.  Our jetted tub on the balcony has seen better days, and the balcony in general needs a good scrubbing.  But the inside of our cabin is spotless and in very good condition (except for the soap dish in the master bath which keeps falling off the metal arm that holds it up). The shower is terrific and the towels are probably the best I’ve ever had on a ship. The a/c could be stronger but it’s doing its job.  We’ve been told (and you can see in the schedule) that the Equinox will be dry docked for three or four weeks in April 2024 and hopefully they’ll get her back to shiny and sparkly inside and out.  There are people cleaning and painting all the time but the painters can’t keep up with the spots of rust.

    2) haven’t made it to the martini bar but I’ll try to give it a look tonight before dinner. We’ve spent most of our pre dinner time in the Retreat lounge or the Ensemble lounge.

    3) the walking track is a disappointment.  It wraps around the outdoor pool and is surrounded by deck chairs so you get a lot of interfering traffic if you’re trying to walk during the day. Worse, the track goes right through the Mast Bar where everyone smokes.  So it’s best to go early or late, in which case it’s just fine.  I usually try to walk around a ship’s promenade deck a few times to get my 10k steps (1,237 consecutive days and counting!) but this ship doesn’t have a proper promenade deck.  So it’s been a little bit of a struggle.

You can also try walking the decks...window shop and look at the art work...as well as the stairs.

Wow!   And I'm known as the "proof reader friend" in my circle, lol.   Yet, reading first thing in the morning and with no glasses on has demoted me!😂😂

Now - on the subject of donated clothes, is there a bin somewhere or should we leave them in our cabins when we disembark like in the past?

There is no "bin".  Leave them in your cabin (neatly folded) with a note that it is for donation.  Otherwise, they may assume you left the clothing/shoes/toiletries by mistake and not donate it.

  5. Enjoyed your review. Overall, the voyage seemed to be what you wanted so that’s wonderful.

We, too, were not as happy with our Murano experience (on Silhouette) feeling it felt rushed and the hostess to be on the curt side. We did mention it afterwards to the Food & Beverage Director whom we happened to meet later on. He asked us to return another night and although the experience was better we prefer the other specialty restaurants.

I just had to call today. Called the Captains Club number because mine had not showed up after two weeks. She told me that "You have to call us to have the credit applied". She just needed my Credit card number and reservation number. It showed up in my cruise planner after about 15 minutes.

Are you aware if it is a refundable OBC?

Can you switch to a service that is allowed in to the port and will drop you at the ship? That was worth its weight in gold when we sailed on Connie last October. The free shuttles can be sporadic and/or crowded. We got off a boat from Sicily a few days prior to our TA (spent time in Rome before the transatlantic) and the port shuttles were something else (long story). We quickly changed our plans to a driving service that was allowed inside the port and that dropped us right at the ship.

Inside the terminal it was fast and easy. We arrived a few minutes before our boarding time (first slot), had a seat for a few minutes and they started boarding shortly thereafter.

Unfortunately, we cannot switch our limo service.  We are coming from Florence (Firenze) and the driver/car does not have the permit in place to give us direct access to the ship.

Thank you all for your answers--they are helpful. 🙃

  8. Hello All!  We leave next month sailing on the Constellation out of Civitavecchia.  We are staying in the Retreat.

    1. Is anyone familiar with the terminal and if there is a dedicated Retreat access line and/or lounge?

    2. Our car service will be dropping us off at the entrance to the port and we will have to take the free shuttle to the pier--does Celebrity have a dedicated pier or will we have to search for the location when we arrive?

    3. Are there dedicated shuttles to the specific cruise ship (there will be 4 in port that day) or do we travel from 1 to another until we reach our's?

Any other helpful advice is greatly appreciated.
