  1. Wow, thanks everyone for the responses!  Looks like I'm going to go with either #2 or #3.  And yes, all of these cruises are in 2023.  This is the earliest I've ever planned a cruise lol.

Feel free to keep chiming in with your opinions b/c I'm still weighing my options between 2 and 3. 🙂

  2. My husband and I typically like beaches and walking around exploring the port.  The only one on this list that I’ve been to is Cozumel.  I don’t know anything about any of the other ports except that Grand Turk is basically a free beach day.  I picked the last two because they’re during my wedding anniversary (they’re also more expensive), but I’m willing to go with the first one if the ports are nicer.  Any input is appreciated!

Mardi Gras - Nov 11-Nov 18 - Cozumel, Costa Maya, Mahogany Bay

Mardi Gras - May 6-May 13 - San Juan, Amber Cove, Grand Turk

Celebration - May 7-May 14 - Amber Cove, San Juan, St. Thomas

I would check but I believe whatever you have left in your ship account after the cruise is forfeited. Use your cards at the end of the trip to pay your ship account. That way any balance not used will remain on the card for your next trip.

I always apply gift cards to my Sail & Sign account for onboard spending.  They always send me my remaining balance in the form of another gift card after the cruise is over.

I'd be really surprised if the E-Cards are limited to allstate customers only.  Are you guys sure that you're looking in the right place?  It's not just an option to select when viewing a carnival gift card, they are actually listed separately.

When you log in to Allstate Rewards, hover over (don't click on) "Gift Cards" in the top nav bar, then select E-Gift Cards from the sub menu that comes up.

Not only are carnival E-gift cards listed there, but they are a featured item...

I don't have the option for e-gift cards in that menu.

I hope they're on the Dream. The cakes with the gelatin layers and the cream cheese frosting on chocolate cakes are not to my taste.

They are.  I had them on the Dream last week.  There was a peanut butter one that was so yummy!  Hubby and I tried to go back and get another slice to take to our room for later,  but it was all gone by the time we went back.

Very unhappy to hear this.  I loved the Tandoor on the Dream and it was one of the reasons I booked the Magic instead of the Glory (same itinerary). Now where will I get my Indian fix?!?

Me too.  I just got off the Dream and ate at Tandoor almost everyday for lunch.  I was thinking of trying the Magic next year and was looking forward to eating there again. Very disappointing. 😞

  7. I was on the Vista last year and they did it in the atrium.  I remember that they brought around samples to everyone seated there.  My husband and I were sitting at the bar and they gave us samples from JiJi's, the steakhouse, and Cucina, and possibly the sushi place (it was a year ago, I can't exactly remember).

We never travel without these. The Carnival towels are huge and 2 towels take up an entire beach bag. These microfiber towels are the best, light weight, take up the space of a washcloth, and dry very quickly.

Thanks for the link.  I'm going to order some b/c as you said, the Carnival towels take up so much space.  I barely have room in my beach bag for other items when I pack Carnival towels.
