If you sailed on the April 30th 8 day cruise on the Horizon and know who that elderly couple were that dressed up every night and danced in the Atrium, please let me know.

My husband and I talked to them.  Their names are Jeff and Jackie.  He's a 67 year old retired lawyer, she's a 70 year old retired dancer.  Both have been on hundreds of cruises.  We were curious about them so we went up to them just to talk.  They were really nice and gracious enough to chat with us for a bit.  Jackie told me that on their last cruise, they had people lined up waiting to talk to them.

  2. I was on this cruise as well.  Had a few small disappointments but overall another great cruise.  I thought the food was good, aside from my one breakfast in the MDR that was just plain awful.  Service was outstanding.  I never had a long wait in the MDR or any of the other restaurants.  The whole crew is so hardworking and they do such a great job.  I enjoyed the entertainment and the singers on this ship much better than on the Mardi Gras.  Donkey was a fantastic CD and I loved Trevor in the comedy club.  He was so much fun.  We had a great time and I'm sad to be back home lol.

Yes, too! I like sail away on my own balcony. I also like arrivals on my own balcony. I love sitting outside at night before bed and relaxing. Open decks are too peopley for me. LOL

This is how I feel too.  I've done 4 cruises:  inside, balcony, inside, and balcony.  Insides are okay but I  strongly prefer balconies for the reasons you listed.  I'm not in my room all the time, but it's SO nice to have the option to relax outside in a private space whenever I want.  It's worth the money to me.

I ordered $2000 worth of cards from Allstate in the last 2 months.  I don’t understand the advantage of e cards.  Can you explain please?

The advantage is that you get them in your email in a matter of minutes instead of having to wait for them to be delivered.

The $500 and $1,000 regular giftcards are back on Allstate's website, no e-cards  unfortunately. Anyone remember how long it takes to get them?

I ordered a $1000 one on the 5th.  It was originally supposed to arrive via UPS on the 9th, but delivery was delayed so it came yesterday.

  6. I applied Saturday afternoon and had my approval notice early Monday morning.  My husband's took about 2 weeks.  His past is a little more complicated than mine. 😂

You got it right. For anyone interested, every membership includes an additional membership for one other person in your household. That person can then create their own AARP.com account and they can buy up to 5 cards/month that doesn't count towards the primary's limit. At the risk of sounding like an AARP commercial (I'm not affiliated), memberships are $12 for the first year right now. IMO, that's worth trying out to see if you get some use out of it. You don't have to be 50 yrs. old either.

Also, if you have a Chase card, check your offers to see if you have one for AARP.  I had one a while back that gave me $8 back, so I only paid $4 for my membership.  I have an offer right now but it only gives 5% back.

  8. I'm seeing 13.60 for my Horizon cruise at the end of this month, but 14.45 for my other cruises.

Edit:  But the social and value plan costs for my Horizon cruise are higher than all of my other cruises.  Weird.

On the rewards website, there is a new daily spin the wheel contest - under 'Play, Instant Win'.  Not sure if a glitch, but it let me keep spinning until I won something (500pts).  Rules mention it ends April 11th.
Check it out and see if you win anything!

Cool, I won 1000 points. Thanks for sharing!

  10. Those are some great deals!  I'm over here excited because I this morning I put a hold on a Havana aft balcony on an 8 day southern Caribbean on the Vista for $1900.  Yesterday the price was over $3000 but today they started a new sale so I'm glad I checked it again.  Not nearly as amazing as your deals, but I'm still excited for the savings. 🙂  Just waiting for my PVP to call me back to complete it.

Oh man, I'm missing you by 1 week!!   I have May 14th (6 day) and May 20th(8 day) booked on Celebration.  Awesome you have 2 cruises in the interim to look forward to before your anniversary trip. Very much look forward to hearing your thoughts and enjoyment on the suite, ship and all the amenities!

Aww, that would've been cool, to be on the same sailing.  I'm sure you'll have a fabulous time on your B2B!

So glad you hadn't canceled - this shows that it was meant to be!

While incredibly pricey, we had the excel aft suite this past January on the Mardi Gras and for us realized to go back on the Mardi Gras or any excel class ship we'd now have to fork over a pretty penny and then some because the room/balcony absolutely spoiled us!

You're going to absolutely love that suite and even more so that you got it at such a deal!

I was thinking the same - that this was meant to be. 🙂 I normally wouldn't think to spend that much but I booked it as a surprise for our anniversary next year.  Now I can book even more cruises with the savings!
