  1. Yes, I booked under the Cruise Next program while onboard but I'm not sure how the number of UDP would translate to as I'm not planning on sailing the corresponding number of sail days that I've been booked.

Also I'm wondering, would it have been possible to select 2 UDP instead of 1 UDP and 1 Shore excursion package? Has anyone ever asked?

  2. Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone else noticed NCL decreased the number of Speciality dining days now offered on new bookings (March 2016)?

About a month ago (February 2016) I had been looking at various NCL cruises.

Previously for a 10 day cruise you, if you wanted the UDP you had 5 speciality dining nights & For 9 - 7 days you had 4 speciality dining nights.

Now as I look around on a 10 day cruise you have 4 speciality dining nights & For 9 - 7 days you had 3 speciality dining nights.

On a previous cruise I had signed up for 2 future cruises selecting 2 packages (UDP and $50 credit on shore excursions)

I'm wondering if my pre-selected amenties packages (which include 4 nights UDP will transfer if and when I select another 7 night cruise) or will it be reduced to 3?

    Safe travels.

  3. I think it's more important to focus on getting a refund from the Travel Agent or agency and not Princess. While Princess cancelled the cruise it's the travel agent that got the payment. You should also try to follow up with your credit card company if you paid by credit card if following up with your travel agency should not go well.

PS, Yes OP it is who you think it is...

  4. Went to the HC buffet for daily cookies and milk run, sitting by the window, and started seeing a drip at the far end down towards the entrance from the pool side. We watched it for about five minutes, and people started getting out of the way as it proceeded down to our end by the drink server stations. The florescent lights on the ceiling that were directly above the window walls started eerily flickering fast, and reminiscent of the titanic movies as she was going down and then went dark. No other lights were affected. I never felt any danger, it was more fascination. Really, panel, by panel, as the water proceeded towards our area, we moved, and the entire wall, about 50 feet was pouring down like an intermittent waterfall. A server used the phone on the wall, called someone, and instantly, an officer arrived, and was shortly joined by five engineers all wearing stripes. They started pulling panels from the ceiling with flashlights trying to isolate the problem. They then closed down that side of the buffet, and said the other side would open soon. We didn't return until the next day, when we saw all the tables and chairs had been returned and that side of the buffet was operating normally, but, the ceiling lights along that upper wall was now completely dark until we disembarked.

I never heard officially, whether it was water pipes, or a leak from the above spa or pools, but, otherwise, I have sailed on the Grand three times with 39 days, including when she was new, and still think she is a beautiful ship. We did not let this distraction interfere with a wonderful holiday, and would certainly sail on her again.

Unfortunately I'm unable to upload the video of the water coming from the ceiling that day, but it was January 28th, 2015 and we were in Loreto

  5. I know Mah Jong sets are standard for Holland America ships, and the asian version of Mah Jong doesn't require a card to complete a hand and Mah Jong is completely different then the iPad version, (it's more like the card game bridge then match the 2 tiles together).

I'll be on the Brilliance of the Seas in about a week. I'll let you know.
