Hello. Apologies,  I'm sure this question has been answered before. We are departing on the Carnival Horizon on April 10th, so we plan on taking our pre-departure test on Friday April 8th here in Ottawa (Kanata), at our local SDM. The issue we have is that the last time we were on a cruise was with Celebrity in December 2021, we did our pre-departure test at SDM in Kanata. The results were hand written on the form. Fortunately, Celebrity accepted the hand written test results. Carnival however explicitly mentions in their FAQ  that hand written results are unacceptable. Does anyone know if Rexall or other places will provide digital (I.e. not hand written) results on their form?

    Thank you.

We are getting our tests done in 2 weeks time and were told that the results were going to be emailed. That should be the norm now.

  2. This sounds like a great option, however......  When we get off the ship Sunday morning we head to Buffalo from FL that night but don't arrive until midnight. When we cross the border with our car to Toronto it will technically be Monday morning. This means that we cannot do the test Saturday night on the ship. We need to stay up and do it in the wee hours of Sunday morning. AGH!

Still is an odd word?  Antigen was just added today.

As of today you can use an antigen test one day prior OR a PCR (molecular) test 72 hours prior to return to Canada via Air or Land.

Not odd in the sense that I have been "aware" of this change coming for the last few weeks and was still HOPING that they would get rid of the test needed to return home. We are sailing in 2 weeks. And they now say that the mayors of the border towns are asking to have this removed...

Getting a test in FL when we get off the ship if becoming increasingly complicated. Walgreens and CVS - very pricey for Canadians. I was hoping that Carnival would do the test for us if we ask, but they will not.

We are doing the same for march break.  Correct we can enter US by land with no test.

We need one to board our Carnival Cruise.  I'm looking in to using the ones the kids got from school and having them "proctored" by a lab online.

We return after March 1 by land so we will need a rapid test to come back. We are looking to use the same option as noted above for the cruise.

I think we are going to go with the Buffalo airport option when we land as a back up. It is right in baggage claim. Simple. We are also booking with a CVS/Walgreens locally in Tampa, we have many many hours before we fly out and are renting a car to tour around.

This exact thing happened to me, I got a little worried that I may have missed it, but when I double checked I had definitely completed the form.

Same thing happened to us. Filled it out immediately - although it is called VACCINATON SURVEY on my profile - and 4 days later I got the 48hrs notification that I was going to be cancelled if I did not fill it out.

Someone is making a killing on that one.  Only $60 with Switch at the Toronto airport (in Canadian funds as well), or if you do it a day early at a Shoppers, Rexall, Walmart, or Costco, you pay $40, $30, $20, $17 (in Canadian)

But I need this to come BACK to Canada. Checking prices at CVS  and Walgreens as well. I’m already doing shoppers for my trip down.

  7. Hello!

We are so excited to be cruising again. Just booked out first cruise "post-pandemic" for march break. We wanted to use all of or airline credits from our many cancelled cruises over the past couple of years, so we are driving over the border into Buffalo to catch our flight to Tampa. I've looked on many US sights to try and find out if the US land border still requires a negative covid test to cross and I am getting so many different answers. I am going to have one anyway in order to get on my cruise ship, but If I need one to cross the border by car I just want to make sure it is the proper test.  Has anyone crossed over the border by car recently?

    Thanks!!

  8. Hi!

Sailing for the first time since the pandemic.
Our plan is to drive over the border to NY state and catch a flight to Tampa. My question is this; since we are flying in same day as the cruise we are getting a rapid antigen test from our pharmacy done the day prior (I read that Carnival will accept that). I am hoping that that is the same kind of test the US land border will accept as well. I can only find requirements for air passengers . Anyone with experience with this?

    thx!
