  1. Agree. And I think a lot has changed for all their seafood restaurants Ocean Blue, The Raw Bar and Wasabi. One year ago September, I led a food crawl through Wasabi and Ocean Blue's waterfront restaurant which at the time only had a smattering of lunch time patrons. This year, they were both packed! I was caught off guard and it was only through the graciousness of Chef Robertson's unexpected intervention that the event was such a success. He directed his own wait staff to serve us and allow us to be seated inside Ocean Blue dining room (pictures forthcoming after I'm done with the Ocean Blue review).

The food crawl was excellent!!! Everything was delish, and it was so wonderful to have Chef Robertson treat us to such an amazing experience.

    Love the Ocean Blue review.

  2. You had to eat steak on your Birthday, it was compulsory!! :D

I think it was part of my cruise contract, LOL. Want to hear something funny? After they brought the BD cake & sang Happy Birthday, we never saw it again. They were going to send it to our room because we were sooo full, we couldn't eat anymore, but the cake disappeared.

I think Karen stole it, LOL!!!

  3. Hello, I would like to purchase myself and my husband the drink package on NCL. We don't cruise for over 200 days. What if something happens where we have to cancel :( (before final payment) would we get refunded for whatever was purchased? Even excursions? Or does that just apply to the deposit? I also wanted to put money towards the cruise each week but I booked through a TA so can that be done?

any help or suggestions would be appreciated. :)

You could wait to buy the UBP till just a few days before the cruise. That way you are sure you are going & you wouldn't have to wait for a refund. Also as far as paying down your trip, if you are good about budgeting, you could simply put that $ aside & than have it available @ final payment. I like having my Benjamen's with me for as long as possible, LOL

  4. Great review!!!! It was a fantastic cruise!!! I didn't get to the Frog & Onion, so we will hit it on the next cruise if you are up for a drink ;)

The sail away party was so cool, we had to treat ourselves to an aft balcony.

It's not a penthouse like Fedretired & I'm nowhere near as organized as Nalagh, but we can gran a few cocktails & "pretend" it's cool, LOL!!!

    Can't wait to go again

  5. Just a brief update to let you know I haven't forgotten about this review by any means. October is just proving to be a bad month already. It's the end of day 6 and I've already had an ER visit. I'm also still waiting to hear back on my laptop and when I'll have it back. Meanwhile, I'm going to work on getting pictures ready for the next segment of my review. I might put off doing work tomorrow in favor of this... It's tempting.

Sorry about the ER visit. Hope your feeling better. Can't wait to read the rest

  6. Robin,

It's been fun following this thread with you all season. Thanks so much for your advice about keeping the angled balcony. We had so much more space last week. Bermuda is absolutely stunning and the crew on the Breakaway were totally awesome! I'd book this again in a heartbeat! Just need to find the time to fit it in.

  7. I'd rather safeguard mine than have to go through the hassle of applying for a replacement if I don't have to.

Seeing as how it would be a giant hassle to get another copy, maybe it would be a good idea for you to obtain a second copy now while you can go through this process at you leisure, rather than having to be stressed out if something unfortunate did happen to the one & only copy you have. That way you have a backup copy just in case.

  8. LOL, I think he booked it so that his FIL, who is in a separate cabin, would not book that crappy cabin. I think he's being kind in taking the cheap, lousy location cabin so it is no longer available for the FIL to book, likely there was only one cheap cabin available there.

I think he's being the good guy in this case, though it did take me several times reading the post to come up with my theory :)

As well, I think he doesn't want his MIL complaining about the FIL choosing a "bad" cabin. It will be interesting to find out who's right!

You are right. It took me forever to understand this, but after reading you "theory" and scrolling back a few post, it all fits

Lol... DW and I booked it so the in laws WOULDNT go in it.

See, it make sense now. I can move on, LOL

  9. A Bay Breeze is very nice: The standard cocktail is: Vodka, cranberry juice & pineapple juice. (Some folks also call it a Sea Breeze, but I think a true Sea breeze has grapefruit juice instead of pineapple)

But if the bar tender will let you, order a Malibu Bay Breeze. The Malibu coconut rum gives it an extra nice flavor.

Another good thing about this drink is you will know when it's time to stop drinking...

If you slur your words & order a Malibu bay beeze (babies) it's time to stop, LOL ;)

  10. Hamilton's main depot and Dockyard there is also a Barnes Corner #7 make sure you get the right one back to Dockyard . Blue poles at the roadside stop is for inbound to Hamilton . Pink poles for outbound . ( Me Thinks)

I copied this from the Bermuda bus schedule web site

"A pole may be pink or blue in color. If the pole is pink, the bus you will get is returning to Hamilton City at the central bus terminal near City Hall. If the pole is blue, the bus is going out of Hamilton to other destinations. The buses have the final destination displayed in front of them so that you know where the bus is going. ."

  11. This is fine if I am doing my own booking and research. If I am using a TA, I hope they are getting valid answers, in writing when questionable, from the cruise line.

That said there is a wealth of knowledge and experience to be gained on these boards. There's also a lot of BS. I'd hate for a TA to mistake BS for fact. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk

This is a very good point, and I hope the OP gets it too

  12. I

just am dreading this connecting cabin. ...

I'm really anxious over this and it's ruining my vacation before I even go. I just knew this would happen. :(

Don't let this ruin your vacation. I don't know what it is you have heard about connecting cabins that has put you into this frame of mind, but as has been stated here, the noise level from any cabin is completely dependent upon how noisy your neighbors are. I have been in connecting cabins with no noise at all. I actually had to have one room reconfigured because there were no HC cabins available, so they switched things around to make more room, & my bed was placed right up against the connecting door. No problem, no noise.

I have been in non connecting cabins where the noise from the neighbors was as if they were in my room & I'm not talking rowdy party noise, just normal activity.

So you see, you have been stressing for the wrong reason. Noisy people book all kinds of cabins. I think that enough people have verified that there's no extra noise just because it's a connecting cabin. Enjoy your cruise

  13. Sharon and I recently decided to book the Norwegian Breakaway to Bermuda sailing on 9/21/14. Our last NCL cruise was March 2012 on the Norwegian Epic. We do like to enjoy a good/great cup of coffee (lattes/cappucinos) and we can't recall if there was a specific cafe on the Epic that had excellent coffee (not Starbucks fans---we prefer Dunkins) and and if we had to purchase a "coffee card". Any input on the DR/buffet coffee and any info about specific coffee cafes/venues on the Breakaway including card pricing or the cost for coffees etc... would be greatly appreciated.Larry

Hi Larry, I'll be on this cruise with you. Come on over to the roll call & join the M&G.

I don't know anything about coffee cards, but I do know that they use Lavazza in the atrium cafe for the cappucino & other specialty coffee's

I think Lavazza is pretty tasty. I too am a Dunkin fan & dislike Starbucks, so perhaps, since we have similar coffee likes, you will enjoy the Lavazza also
