  1. On our first Azamara cruise in 2012, we traveled with our adult children. We booked an interior cabin for them, and an oceanview for us. It seemed like their interior was so dark-I decided I would never book an interior again for any of us. The oceanview was better, and we’ve booked once since. We really prefer the verandah 2 cabins though. We occasionally order breakfast to enjoy on the balcony, and we’ll have a glass of wine out there after dinner (grab one from the bar on your way back to your cabin or bring your own onboard). Sounds like you’re considering the same cruise we’re booked on. Azamara’s ships are the largest we will cruise on.

Conversely, I've seen Azamara put excursions on sale prior to the cruise.  They did, however, allow you to rebook any excursions you had booked prior to the sale. Of course, this was before the big website changeover, so I don't know if they do this anymore.

They did it for our cruises in September and October 2023.

We want to catch a ferry to Capri for the day from our AZ cruise in June....does the AZ tender go into Marina Piccola which is the area the Capri ferries go from in Sorrento?  Just trying to work out how long we need to leave to get from ship to ferry port in the morning

    Many thanks

They did when we were on Pursuit in September.

Trying to decide between seabourn encore, Oceania Riviera and azmara journey. All 7 day cruises we are mid 30s. Thank you in advance!

Where/when? Are the itineraries the same?

Thanks for confirming.  Yes, it sounds too good to be true!  But absolutely fine by me.

@Grandma Cruising We don't have a boarding pass or guest pack.  I think it's unlikely we will receive this before we depart on Sunday.  Our TA is in the USA, and we are in the UK.  We will just need to wing it!

The boarding pass and guest “booklet” are electronic, so if your TA is working this week they should be able to get it to you by Sunday. It’s not a big deal if you don’t have it though!

Just received an email regarding an itinerary change for Quest, Aug 05, 2025.

I knew they were rejigging Quest’s itineraries during this summer period, but I didn’t expect that they would drop L’Anse aux Meadows, near the northern tip of Newfoundland, and replace it with Sisimiut, Greenland.

For me, one of the main attractions of the itinerary was potentially visiting one of the earliest Viking settlements in North America (since it was a tender port there was always a chance of missing it). We will have to research Sisimiut.

The subsequent Quest itineraries are not yet posted.

I hope that this change is not too disappointing to those, like Mackdogmolly, who are also on the August 05 cruise. It may have been a priority only to a few of us.

I posted about this on the roll call yesterday-I’m disappointed in the change also. Was interested in visiting L’Anse aux Meadows after reading about it, and am not interested in 3 sea days in a row.

New article on Cruise Industry News:

Azamara Observes Increase In Guests Aged 60 to 89

"Data from Azamara shows the share of guests aged 60 to 89 is trending upwards, with a 6 percent increase compared to 2019."

Good news for some of us, if it means Azamara will keep the entertainment pitched at our cohort!

Interesting because on our 3 Azamara cruises this year, we met a lot of first time Azamara cruisers in their 30’s and 40’s.

Yes, I did receive it eventually on the 19th October and my travel agent applied it before I had to make final payment this month. It took much more effort than it should have, but after I chased it we got there and I had a nice surprise with how much it was for. My certificate was on Azamara letterhead.

Thanks! Trying to track mine down!

  10. I was quarantined for 5 days on our B2B cruises on the Pursuit this fall.  My husband was moved to a separate cabin for the 3 days I was quarantined on the first cruise, but had to move back to our cabin on Saturday morning because the second cruise was full and was required to quarantine with me at that point.   I received letters from the HD indicating that I would be receiving 3 days FCC for each cruise, but my husband didn't receive anything.  I was unable to reach the HD, but the Concierge told me that they had all the records and would make sure he received the FCC.  As of now (more than the 30 days since it said we would receive it), Azamara's Customer Service Department hasn't received any information about it.  The letters I received said to contact Customer Service if we hadn't received it within 30 days, but the phone number given was Royal Caribbean's.  Does anyone who has received the FCC since the cutover know if RCCL is still processing them?  Has anyone received a refund instead of FCC?  I noticed when I looked at my credit card account earlier today that there is a pending refund from Azamara, but it's nowhere near the amount I paid for 5 days.  I won't call about that until the refund is actually posted.

I didn't ask for mine. The HD onboard did a letter for me. All very efficient. I am still waiting for this to be applied to my upcoming cruise. The letter from the ship is dated the 26th July 2023. I did another chaser a few days ago to the US email address I have. No response. It's often talked about here how good the onboard service is compared to onshore.  Here's a classic example.

    Phil

Did you ever receive your FCC? I noticed that the letters from the HD have Royal Caribbean’s phone number.

  12. I did organize several group tours on a Quest cruise last year-Southampton to Lisbon. There were about 25 people total among all the excursions. The HD referred me to the concierge who booked a time and venue for me so that we could put a face to the name of the people going on excursions with us. They also asked if it was ok for officers to attend, so I said sure. We ended up with about 1/2 dozen officers.

Perhaps someone "currently on board" could ask the hotel director, at one of his/her Q&A sessions, which occur on almost every cruise,  about the future of Azamazing Evenings given the recent  inconsistent history ...??   (and, please, post the answer here!)

I was just on the Pursuit for 19 nights. There were no Q & A’s held, and I saw the HD 3 times the entire cruise.

Thanks for the offer of help Tyler.

Those of us who are Azamara veterans remember the great parties the ship hosted; many senior officers were there.  There were invitations in your cabin when you boarded. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres were served by waiters.

On last December's cruise, we had a great group of people who came. Lots of dinner plans were made. Conversations were lively rather than awkward. And it was then nice to see people around the ship that we had met that first night.

We had drinks and hors d’oeuvres served at our Cruise Critic get together on our Best of the Med cruise on Pursuit sailing on 9/25. Unfortunately, even though I reminded everyone to check The Insider as soon as they boarded, there were only 4 of us at the event. Lots of food and drinks wasted!
