    Hi Everyone!

I am just off the gorgeous Disney Wish! I wanted to share my review of my experience. It includes the transfer between a WDW hotel and the port, since I know a lot of people usually ask about that, including myself prior. Let me know if you have any questions! I loved the experience and I hope you do too!

Great review!  We're in the midst of booking the Treasure and with no reviews of that ship yet, looking at reviews of the Wish is helping me get excited

The Treasure will not sail until the end of the year, so you wont see any reviews until then.

Does Eye Scream Treats still let guest put ice cream in bowl or cones by themselves or do guests give bowl cone to cast member to serve the ice cream

They don't generally have bowls at Eye Scream, but what lots of guests will do is grab a cup from the drink station to use.

At age 71, my DH and I have aged out of Disneyworld. Not attitude but mobility issues have madethe decision for us.
We enjoyed going there for many years beginning in 1987.

Our last visit was ten years ago. We have stayed in all the resorts on the monorail. On our last visit, we stayed at the Grand Floridian where we were given a lovely upgrade to a room with the view of the Castle on a floor which was restricted to only adults.

Over the years, we found Disney world to be increasingly expensive and more crowded lessening the “magical” experience -in our opinion.

We have never been on a Disney ship.

We have experienced many cruises on Princess,Celebrity, NCL and Cunard.

We fondly recall the cruise we took on the Big Red Boat after a stay at Disneyworld in 1987.

It is MHO that pirates have been glamorized, possibly as a Disney product.

If you think  otherwise, that is your opinion.

Consider Captain Phillips and the Somali pirates.

Then, perhaps Disney is not for you.

Thanks, would be a shame to miss Skagway. According to the port schedule, Radiance is supposed to dock at Railroad Dock aft on our sailing.

Strangely, Radiance was supposed to dock at the Broadway dock on the current cruise, not sure why they still switched the itinerary for Haines.

Which sailing are you on? We're on the Radiance of the Seas July 12th and wondering if we will be impacted.

If, by any chance you reserve a cabana, these items are included. The snorkel gear still needs to be picked up at Gil’s Fins and Boats or Flippers and Floats.

I'm not exactly sure what/if you're asking, but I know that Concierge Services will contact you 130 days prior to your cruise to set up anything you need.

I suspect the OP was asking if they were connected.

Filming from within the theater will be difficult due to the number of people moving around and talking. Also, as mentioned above, your mother won't know when you are about to show up, if you do. It would be better for your mother to wait in line with you so she can grab her phone quickly if you are interviewed.

The recording part (does anyone use film anymore? 😉 ) is easy, since the screens are high up on either side of the stage. But you are correct. She's have to be quick with the trigger to capture her mum if she gets interviewed. There is no guarantee that will happen out of upwards of 4,000 guests.

All of the FE groups I've participated in were organized on a Disney specific forum, and one here on Cruise Critic.

I think those are fading out. The majority of the cruises I have been on, all activity was on FB groups specific to the cruise.

I agree that repositioning cruises tend to be the best priced, per night. They usually have a repositioning cruise in May that goes from FL to Barcelona. Summer 2025 cruises should be coming out real soon, sometime in March, usually. But if you're looking at 2026 you'll need to wait another year to book. The one that comes back from Europe I believe is in October. They have longer cruises too, on the Wonder around the same times, that go from Vancouver to Hawaii, then Hawaii to Australia (and back). There's been a lot of speculation on what routes will change, with the addition of the Wish and Treasure.

The Westbound transatlantic this year leaves Southampton on October 20th

Something to keep in mind is that the newer the ship the more adult areas you'll find. The Wonder/Magic only have one specialty restaurant. The Dream/Fantasy have two.

I don't know how true that is. The adult areas on the Wish didn't compare to those on the previous ships. That was one of the chief complaints from experienced cruisers.

Yes you'll find more kids, but they're there to experience the magic just like you are. I travel with mine, and I find that their magic and wonder adds to my experience. You'll walk past and hear a girl cry out, "mom, I see Cinderella!!" and there's just a certain joy there. But like I said they do have adults only areas too.

Drinks in the bars/lounges have a cost.  I'm not sure about asking for a glass of regular water, but bottled water will have a cost.

There's no issue getting soft drink (or coffee, or tea, hot chocolate) from the drink station and bringing it into the lounge area to drink.  Those drinks are "free" from the drink stations, and in the dining rooms, and buffet.

Never had an issue asking for a glass of water in the adult clubs.

We sailed the Magic on the panama canal in December.

    1. None, it's back to what it was before covid. They hand out wet towels before you enter a dinning room, but that's it. They removed all the extra hand sanitizer gels. So if you want to sanitize your hands just before eating, you need to bring your own.

Those were not just wet towels they were handing out. They were sanitizing wipes.

same here, I cannot duplicate these results, but very happy to see Radiance will get some attention before the Alaskan season. Would still love any information from those February/March cruisers on details of the dry dock. Many thanks!

It wasn't straight forward. I had to go to my profile, then find another cruise.

Thanks all.  The drinks thing is bizarre but maybe it's to keep the bar service focused on alcohol?

Can you get water for free from the bars?

Yes, you can get water from the bars. I actually did this myself, while waiting to be escorted off the ship for the second part of our cruise. I need to take some pills and went to the Bon Voyage bar and asked for a glass of water.

@gometros  Thanks for your help & checking back in!

I heard it was a rocky ride but DS & DIL said the kids did great.  They were able to get tickets for the Princess Tea Party (just DIL & granddaughter).  Wow!  Pricey!   😂

This was their first foray into cruising with the kids - to be truthful, we have only gotten "bits & pieces" of their trip.  We were away when they got back home.  GD (she's 3.5yo) had several meltdowns  🥰 (that happens at home too!).

What I noted (and was confirmed) when we dropped them off at Pier 88, there was a huge outside line - it was moving but not well.  It took them quite a while to get inside, then check-in, then wait.  We dropped them off at 11-11:30am and I don't think they got on until close to 2pm.  By that time the kids were "hangry".  To me, that was surprising for Disney.

All in all, they said it was a positive experience.  They plan on going to Disney World next year in the fall.  😊

Yeah, the lines were long, but they were organized. Separate lines for each boarding time. We got to the pier at 10:30 for an 11:15 boarding time and were on board by noon.

  16. The Wish is currently doing 3 and 4-day cruises. The Fantasy is doing the longer cruises. I would go with the Fantasy. If you're an adult going without children, I would definitely choose the Fantasy, since IMHO, the adult areas are better.

Because they booked late a lot of the activities are booked.

***Do they have openings once onboard?  If so, where are additional reservations made? (ie. Customer Services or ???)

Not familiar with Disney and looking to help them out.  Thank You!

How'd they handle that first night out of NY?
