  1. I booked as part of a 10 cabin group. We all booked guaranteed inside. Every other cabin got upgraded to a balcony before the cruise, not us.  I asked the ta who booked it & she assured me once onboard, I’d get the balcony. Never happened. I did ask when we embarked but they looked at me like I’d offered to sail her!
No idea why 9 out of 10 got the upgrade.

  2. My sister & I are looking to book for January or February. She wants an inside but I’m trying to convince her to move up to ov.
I see cabins on deck 9 that face forward.
Has anyone been in one? Thoughts? Feedback? How much movement did you feel?
We’d be sailing to either St Thomas etc or Mexico.
    thanks

  3. I booked through X last September (Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina) & had a very good rate. This year, the price quoted is almost double. My ta says it’s because X now uses a 3rd party for its bookings. I think I’ll wait a few months for my credit card points to add up & book that way. Going directly through the hotel was the exact same amount as quoted by X so no advantage for me. Even without using points, my credit card got me a better deal.

Was the fact that you had a drinks package already showing in your cruise planner?  My package is not.  And whom did you call?  The general Celebrity number or did you call Captain's Club?

I did add the basic package to my initial booking.
I did not call anyone; I logged into the Celebrity site & purchased the upgrade. Used my OBC to cover most of it.
I’ve heard there are sometimes (not very often) 50% off sales so I log in every few days hoping to catch one.

Thank you!  I will give this a try. But I reached out to my TA as well and she said it didn’t show bc I have a group rate and I’d have to upgrade once on board. I hope this isn’t the case bc then I can’t take advantage of the sale.

I have a group rate with my ta and I was able to upgrade at 35% off by logging in with my celebrity login. I did not call my ta or celebrity.

  6. I had difficulties too, and had to change my password.
But, the tricky part was they asked my travel agents last name & I use 3 different agents. Got lucky 2nd try.
pain in the neck but it’s done.
And I did have to change my password-could not use the same one as others have mentioned. I just interchanged  2 of the characters.

The process is very easy and as @PTC DAWG suggests OBC is reinstated quickly.  Buy now, watch for a better price and if so, cancel and rebook - no penalty.  You can do this up to 3 says prior to sailing.

But does the OBC come back quickly enough to use at the better price?

  8. There is currently a 35% off sale for my cruise to update the 3 of us to the premium package. It’s the best price I’ve seen so far, but I love a deal and have read about a 50% off sale. I’m debating whether to jump on now.
For those that have cancelled & rebought if the price went lower, how easy a process is it? And, how long does it take for the refund to appear? My obc will cover the cost for 2 of us. If I cancel, does my obc come back?

  9. We chose Murano for our anniversary celebration, and had a different experience.
Wait staff couldn’t be bothered with us, food was sub par, ate better at MDR.

    No cheese course offered

no acknowledgement of our special occasion, (and yes, they knew-we told them at reservation & again when seated) which we saw celebrated at other tables.
We certainly felt like second class citizens
Guess most others had a better experience-food& service.

  10. 3 of us are sailing in November & like snorkelling. We have 2 masks & snorkels. Dd is contemplating buying a full face mask, but I’ve read there are islands that don’t allow/recommend them.
We’ll be on the Reflection in November visiting Ocean Cay which is likely the only place we’d use it.
    Thoughts? Opinions?

  11. Thanks. I thought I’d seen a deal on our last cruise, which we didn’t take advantage of, and regretted.
I will purchase now & pray for a 50% off. I do check regularly so will hopefully catch a great sale.
My travelling companions (daughter & daughter-in-law) love their fancy drinks.

  12. I manage to come home most vacations with a chest cold/cough. It happens in Cuba, high end resorts in Cancun & on cruise ships.  Ironically, my last 2 post-Covid cruises I was fine although DH did manage to come home with Covid - Celebrity 8 day on a balcony; symptoms started on the plane home & he did don an N95 mask for the flight.
Fortunately, it’s usually the last day or the day after we get home.
    This happened long before Covid.
I get a dry cough as a side effect of one of my meds; I’d love to wear a badge that says “it’s not Covid!”.
