  1. "I have a friend who is a restaurant owner in Puerto Vallarta, Several times while either visiting him for drinks or eating dinner at his place i have seen him send staff to the store to get an item that a customer requested thet he did not have on hand. I got the feeling that the same would happen at Jaimies"

    Hi p,

Boy this sure sounds like Joe Jack's Fish Shack? My wife and I love that place and will return there in December.

    Enjoy!

    Kel:D

    it was called

Mi Rueda, It was a couple blocks up the hill near the Hotel Rosita

  2. The scale is for the Tidal Wave, the slide that two riders go down together in a tube. There is a minimum weight for each rider of 75 lbs, so they will weigh kids individually if they look borderline heavy enough. There is also a min/max combined weight, so you and your companion would get on the scale together to make sure you fall within the parameters. I honestly don’t even remember if we got weighed—my husband and I rode together and we are both pretty average sized people. No worries about individual weigh-ins!

I just double checked my cruise compass:

Max weight for the regular slides is 300 lbs

Max for tidal wave is 280 lbs

Minimum combined for tidal wave is 200 lbs

Maximum combined for tidal wave is 450 lbs

the minimum is 200 pounds total but both riders need to be at least 75Lbs each for tidal wave-

  3. I'm not not be correct in saying this but I believe your are still paying Port Taxes and Fees for the kids. I also booked with this promotion and that's how I took it as but I may be wrong . But it was still a lot cheaper than when I usually cruise with my kids 😹

yes- but that doesn't explain why the two adult fares go up per person when booking with a kid on kids sail free-

the taxes stay the same per person but the actual cruise fares goes up for the adults.

  4. did you have any trouble contacting Jaimie? I sent 2 requests and havent heard anything for our cruise in January

I had no problems getting a reply any of the times I have contacted them, most recently about 3 weeks ago when I reserved for next march

  5. The cruise line accepted the booking. In doing so they made a promise. This is a promise we all want and expect when picking cabins. If the cruise line wanted to hold a 4-person cabin in anticipation of a full booking, it should have refused the booking and insisted on another cabin choice. The OP could have then either not bothered with the booking or picked another cabin.

I have no problems with a cruise line offering inducements to encourage a move, understanding that the booker can refuse. I do have a problem with forcefully moving someone for any reason other than the cabin being uninhabitable.

    Read the terms and conditions,

I can guarantee the cruise line made no such promise, in fact I bet it explicitly states that they reserve the right to modify rooms at will for any reason they decide.

you might think they have some obligation to you but they do not-

other then what YOU AGREED too in the terms and conditions when you booked

  6. The cruise line are just reacting to the purchasers habits-

Cruisers used to wait until the last minute to book when cruise lines would slowly lower the prices as the cruise date got closer and closer.

this is horrible for the cruise line since they are sitting with a half empty ship and no promise of it filling up, so they stopped dropping the prices as time went on and instead offered the lowest fares earlier rather than later-

from the cruise line standpoint it makes sense- they fill the ship earlier reducing the risk of a undersold cruise and get to hold onto(and put to work) the deposit money for a much longer time.

The prices will slowly increase and the service will slowly drop until they can no longer fill the ships, but so long as the ships are operating at or near capacity they really don't care if you stop cruising or not- so long as someone takes your place-

they can only build so many ships a year and can only accommodate so many cruisers In the existing ships

they are better off sailing with 90% of the berths sold at $100 avg. per night/per berth

then 100% sold at $70 avg. per night per/berth.

  7. Yes, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet"... Ok, weird analogy. :D Not so sure I would call RCCL's prices sweet :) , but yeah they seem to change the name and end up with roughly the same price each time.

We had an exception today with the kids sail free and WOW promotion. We repriced our fares (which remained the same) and got $150 more OBC between the two cabins. It also knocked over $300 off our kids room since my son fit the requirements for the kids sail free, so we saved over $450 by repricing today. I have found this situation to be far from the norm though.

    Dan

    Funny.

For our upcoming cruise they raised the standard fare for the adults by almost $800.00 ea then took 50% off the second adult.

So the end result is the kids sailfree promo costs $200 dollars more then paying for 1 kid

  8. Has anyone been to Pitaya Beach, Yaya Beach, or Jaime's at Blue Reef? These are ones we are considering for all inclusives. We are also considering Tropicante. Any thoughts about any of them would be much appreciated!

We loved Jaimies, to the point that the deciding factor for our itinerary for next year was going back to Costa Maya to return.

we are already booked for next march.

  9. Guess what?

That billion dollar ship you are boarding has to eventually be paid for.

The lines have fiduciary responsibility to thier share holders to try and make a profit.

The other option would be for them to just raise the prices across the board but then i am willing to bet you would be right back here complaining about how high the fares have become and you miss how you You used to be able to select what you wanted to pay for.

  10. Maybe next time I'll have to try out one of those rust buckets just so I can have a Guy Fieri burger.

I will never forget walking to get back on Harmony in Cozumel and my 7 Yo Daughter grabs my hand and points to a Carnival ship on one of the other piers and calmly says-

    "look at that dump"

she may have been spoiled by harmony for her first cruise

  11. I’ve not heard of the roads being closed for fog before and I’ve lived here for 5 years.

Other than there being an accident on I-45, I can’t really think of another reason for a person to be delayed for so long, and 6 hours delay for an accident just doesn’t add up.

I never said the roads were closed due to fog-

    the port was-

nor did i say they were delayed for an accident-

so not only did you have everybody trying to get off the ship at basically the exact same time but you also had the majority of the oncoming passengers coming in to get on at the same time.

they walked off the ship 1:45.

at 8:30 Pm they finally got north of Houston

some of that was waiting for customs, some was trying to get back into the port to pick up the rest of the family and get luggage. and some was traffic.

by the time they actually got on the road it was 4:30 PM on sunday night of mardi gras weekend. figure it out

  12. We had a great time on Liberty out of Galveston. I didnt view the process of getting to/from the port to be a hassle at all..just part of the trip. Each trip has it's hurdles and if the hardest thing I've got navigate is a hours drive thats not enough for me to view it as an issue.

How about 6 hours from the time you disembarked to the time you got back to Houston-

And that was with a car parked across the street at the pier parking.

That’s what our friends faced in February.

  13. Perhaps the people occupying the cabin on the following voyage found the camera and, not trusting the cruise line took it home with the "intention" of finding the owner on cc.;)

    This-

have you tried searching the boards for your room number and ship name?

I would also start searching random photography forums to see if they posted your camera there
