Wow, this is the board I've been looking for!  I have several questions and have found some answers by looking back but included them here.  Hoping everyone can help answer.  For reference, I earned Prime on a cruise in 5/18.  I called today to have a the casino discount added to an existing reservation and was told I had a free cruise for 2.  So I applied it to a March 2020 cruise and did an upgrade to a suite.

    Questions:

    1.  I assume I am prime for 4/1/19 - 3/31/20.  I didn't receive any emails about this and I don't see the "Annual Cruise Credit" on the website.  I believe I already redeemed it, so I'm wondering if the offer disappears once I use it or not?

    2.  Since I didn't get an email about my tier and annual cruise...how do I know what cruises/ships I can use my Annual Cruise on?

    3. I only receive Casino Offers via email, but nothing about my tier or account.  Is this normal or should I contact them about this issue?  If so, can anyone provide me an email address for club royale?  Waiting on hold 20 minutes every call is getting old 🙂

    4. I used my interior comp from the annual cruise and upgraded to a suite.  Will I receive C&A points?

    5.  If I don't earn 2500 on my March 2020 cruise, will my status still be Prime and will I keep earning a free cruise each year?  Or do I need to earn 2500 on my March 2020 to keep my tier and benefits?

1.Unless you booked in the last 24 hours there is no way you used your tier certificate.

you will need to call to verify your tier status.

    5. you need 2500 points between 4/1/19 and 3/31/20  that can all be from 1 cruise or spread over many.

if you do not earn 2500 during the year you will not be prime for the following year.

now to get the most "bang" for the buck it appears you are best off getting all 2500 on a single cruise as then you will also earn a free cruise from that ships casino as well as the yearly Prime tier cruise.

this is what I did on my march Symphony cruise.

I know that the free cruise prime offer is for 8 days or less but what happens if you want to take a longer cruise ( 11 days) ?

is it just the difference or a certain amount off. TIA

It’s actually 8 nights or less.   Which would be 9 days.

As far as I am aware, there are no black-out periods except for "holidays" but that has never been defined so I'm not sure which holidays are included.  The cruise must be no more than 8 days to qualify.

Actually I believe its 8 NIGHTS or less which technically would be 9 days

    They told me today

"we are hoping to have them done in the next week or so"

I read that as "We have no clue"

Great. I got it for sure. Just booked a second cruise this morning with the Coco Cay stop (different ship, different ports, different dates). Got another cabana for <$400.  I got my own proof twice now. 👍

Feel free to be a skeptic. I'm done feeding trolls and naysayers.

you really dont know what the word "proof" means do you,

i have a chill beach cabana booked for oct for $339. So I must be much higher C&A member right?

Funny how you have made no effort to prove your claims other then linking to your own post.

For what it's worth, I was able to book a chill island cabana for $329 and I'm a gold member staying in an inside cabin on that cruise. I'm personally in the camp of ship size and sailing timing making up the vast majority of the pricing algorithm. For those looking for comparisons, that pricing is for a Thanksgiving (so...November) Grandeur sailing.

how is this possible?  better call your insider and find out what went wrong

OK...people want to hear what they want to hear, read what they choose to read, and know what they think they know. We have all the "proof we need" and the results having proven spot on - to us and a few others as well. Those needing proof are welcome to seek it on their own.

Others get the facts from the direct source. Feel free to believe what you want, but rest assured...some of us will get cabanas at the lower prices whenever we choose knowing the correct formula. We also had cabanas on Labadee, and while both the types, quality, and costs are somewhat different, there is also a formula for how that pricing works. They are more expensive (in general), but discounts can be gotten knowing how thing work.

Enjoy your cabana for those who choose one. We certainly will. Hopefully others gain the pricing they can afford.

    In other words

“I can’t provide proof because i have none”

Have fun paying what EVERBODY else that books the same day from the same sailing pays.

Name ONE other suite or C And A perk that’s not

advertised, listed or discussed anywhere on official RCCL documentation.

Now suddenly they are going to discount a limited availability item for the very people who are least likely to need the discount to purchase that item and they are going to do so with telling anybody about it.

    Got it.

I personally do not like the fact that you can go straight from your room charges to the machine.  Last week on the Symphony we saw a couple having a lively discussion, it appears the husband had one or two, too many drinks and used that “feature”.  He must have taken a lot and not won the way she was acting.

Also think they should have another way to protect the card feature, if they are going to to it, let the customer set a special pin up.  Was also told that you cannot stop the feature from being used unless you turn off all charge ability for the person.

it does give customers an easy way to get money for other things without paying the other fees.  Just add money to the machine from your card, cash out without playing and then go cash the ticket.  You now have avoided the 5% fee and any fee your credit card company would have charged you.

They do not let you transfer back to the account if you win, just take money out on the Symphony.

how does that avoid the 5% fee?

the fee is added to transaction amount, not subtracted during play,

take out $300, cash out $300 room transaction will show as $315.00

unless you are prime tier in casino royal where the 5% is waived.

Yeah...uh huh...who'd want to consider information coming from a senior person at RCI that confirms what we already know. 🤔

Nobody has seen or heard that information but you, you have provided 0 proof.

I can say I have top level information that the MDR is going to exclusively serviced by McDonalds next year.

    doesn't make it true.

and in all of this you still can not explain what would that pricing structure gain Royal?

    how does it help them?

it doesn't. so why would they do it.

your theory just doesn't hold water.

But hey, since you have the connections why not get something in writing to prove your point,

    Bet you cant.

image.gif.295c81adf309267e93afc119887f5445.gifYup...so far we have not seen anything that contradicts this post from a couple weeks ago regarding cabana pricing...ALL 4 of those factors play a role in pricing.

You have also seen nothing that confirms it, at least not on that thread.

    unless you have proof of-

two of the exact same cabanas, booked on the exact same day, booked by the exact same method, for people sailing on the same sailing two different cabin categories, with different prices.

you have nothing but a theory.

And that theory doesn't even make sense as it would amount to RCCL giving a discount for absolutely no reason or gain to themselves.

Have you ever heard of RCCL giving somebody a discount and not even telling them they were doing it.

  9. posting a link to you saying the same thing again is not proof of anything-

Still do not believe pricing is changed based on room category.

Unless cabanas were booked on the same day, by the same method(web or phone), for the same sailing, same cabana location, with two different prices where the only difference is room category and/or C&A status would constitute what you are saying is true.

ALL of the "examples" in that thread were people who purchased cabanas at different times, which as we all know RCCL pricing is constantly in flux.

Trying to pin the price difference on cabin category or C&A status is absurd.

RCCL Can hardly make a change to a reservation without screwing it up, you expect me to believe that they instituted some complex algorithm into the website to give a different prices on one product category based on 5 separate data points? B.S.

And for what gain, they can already price the cabanas at whatever they can sell them for, and the suite passengers would likely be the first to pay the higher prices, why give them a discount and then not even tell anybody that you are doing it, If thats what RCCL wanted to do why wouldn't they use that as a sales incentive to sell more suites or at least make it a listed suite perk.

likely yes since all you need to do is hit the URL from the device you are trying to activate.

    Edit

after a second look it says

"Parrity is a Web Browser for Apple Watch.

It utilizes your paired iPhone to render rich web content and stream it to your watch where you can either interact with it live, or keep it cached for later."

so it may still need the phone to work.

Man, I hate to be a complainer about free cruises, but since I had to gamble quite a bit to even qualify, I'd say my complaint is somewhat warranted.  On my first and only cruise with RCCL, I qualified for a Balcony Stateroom Instant Offer which had a rather large selection and variety of cruises and ships.  With the way my job works, it's difficult to plan out this far ahead for the cruise selection they had plus most of the dates were just too soon.  I was kibd of expecting and hoping that the abnual Comp Cruise would have a comparable selection but it does not-a far cry from what I would have been able to get.  After experiencing Oasis-class and thoroughly enjoying it, I feel like I wpuld prefer Oasis/Quantum only.  And what's worse is that the offers have no value toward another cruise of my choosing.

Oh well, I guess I'll just be waiting for cruise offers from my land based casinos for now.

So as a heads up to anyone who qualifies for the Instant Offer during a cruise, BOOK SOMETHING on there ASAP and don't wait it out like me!

    Screenshot_20190329-103623.png

I hope you know that you will also be getting a certificate for at least an interior stateroom on any sailing 8 nights or less and not over a holiday.

That certificate will be available starting roughly 4/8 or 4/9

  12. So I fortunately(or unfortunately depending on how you look at it) made prime tier in the Casino Royal program last cruise.

This will allow me free drinks in the casino, however I do not believe my wife will also receive that benefit so I would be looking at getting her the deluxe drink package.

Will they make me either buy the deluxe or the refreshment package for myself. Obviously the break even point changes considerably when I do the bulk of my cruise drinking in the casino anyways.

  13. all of our group thought the overall food service on Symphony was just a bit lacking when compared to our other cruises.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it poor but just not that great

    another example-

We had dinner at Jaimie's with a large Group, 12 of us. they brought out like one small serving of each app to share, I am talking like a total 4 of the little bread things. then we order and the salads and everybody's ordered apps start coming and then they bring the large table apps.so between the planks, the ordered apps and salads plus the table apps there was no room for anything on the table. we were a little surprised when they took orders for the apps since every other time we have gone to a specialty with a group that size they just serve them family style,  there was just no communication between anybody. and drink service took 20 minutes to get the first round and we were never offered a second.
