I see that this was actually already answered with a yes. But I'd be curious to know in this near future not that the ship capacity is starting to be close to 100% if they're actually ever going to implement the whole reservation system that they're pushing on The Medallion app. Because when I was on last cruise with the reduced capacity it was more first come first serve nobody was checking any reservations or doing headcounts of how many people were coming in so interesting to see if they'll actually implement soon. Then yet again when I was on there really was no social distancing so...

Thanks for your  insightful observations. I really appreciate your input and the time you have taken in your posts. We all need to remember that many protocols and procedures will surely evolve and change as the capacity increases.  What the first cruisers experienced may not even come close to what we will see in cruises coming up. It is definitely interesting! I enjoyed riding along with you 😄 and the others who shared their time with us. It was as close to being there, as I could get, for now.

Good morning. Last nights dinner in the club class section was wonderful. We both had the special dish of the night- mahi mahi with pesto pasta. Went back to the room and got pictures of the sunset. Took the first one from the balcony and darned near got blown off it was so windy. So the rest are from the bedroom window including the last one taken this morning. The clouds are coming in.

We enjoyed Carlos Oscar and spent a little time in the casino. It was crowded and smoky so we were back in the room early. Had the best night sleep in a while. I forgot how wonderful it is being rocked to sleep.

I will be interested in hearing from you at the end of cruise, especially after GB, about your balcony limitations and/or accolades. The views so far have been spectacular and having that much space is definitely a luxury; however...I think you have already alluded to the wind and its force up there. In any case - enjoy the ride, the views, the morsels and the gulps. Hopefully you will also find great company and conversations along the way. Thanks for sharing!

A few years ago our niece and her family lived on an island about an hour boat ride out of Ketchikan. They shopped at the Tongass Trading post whenever they came into town to get supplies. She still talks about how she loved looking around on the 2nd floor. The first floor is for the tourists, lol.

Secret is out now! There are coupons in the coupon book - used to be - for merino wool work socks. I used to stock up! And smart wool socks, and sport shoes. I could go on and on. Life is good brand too. Love to shop at the local stores. We need to spend our tourist dollars in these lovely little towns when we travel. Fun!

Juneau was deck 6. I don't remember if they had 2 going or not. We went into town later than everyone else.

Thanks for sharing your favourite places in Ketchikan. You found one of my haunts. Tongass Trading 2nd floor - with everything one could imagine for outdoor living. Can't wait to get back to Alaska. Looking forward to hearing /seeing your WM pics later. ENjoy every moment, every mouthful.

  5. Thank you for your extensive report. I enjoy your style of writing.

I completely understand how frustrating ALL of those mis-steps would be. I've experienced a few unfortunate events myself over the years.

That said, kudos to you for taking the time to give the ship the feedback they need. It's time consuming but oh, so important that the staff knows where improvements need to be made - right away.

Enough said from here. Thank you for taking the time to share with the landlubbers.

Especially appreciate how you detailed the limitations a generation of loyal cruisers are having with the latest and greatest Medallion Apps. Period.

Omg!!!! Soooo good. Honestly I have the sweetest couple sitting next to me as we're on those boths for tables for two. They get a kick out of me every evening as I order multiple dishes I told him someone's got a taste test and give the dining stuff feedback. The part that makes everyone giggle is is I'm this tiny super petite little girl.

Works for me! Keep it coming, please. I can almost taste what you're having. Such delicious memories.💖

Good Morning from Skagway!  I know I'm coming in a little late, however this is the first time I have gotten my laptop out.  We have had an amazing trip so far.  The crew have been absolutely incredible.  You can tell that everyone is very excited to be back!!

We started our trip on Sunday, arriving in Group A.  Many people tried to get on the ship at 11:30, however most of them got asked to wait in another area. Boarding was very unorganized, which is not normal for Seattle.  I think they are just working out all the kinks still.  Once on board we waited for rooms to be ready in the Crown Grill bar.  Around 1pm they announced staterooms were ready and we went up to unpack and settle in.  Our luggage got split up and my husbands luggage took 2 hours longer than mine to arrive.  We were starting to get nervous, but were very relieved when it finally showed up.  Sunday night we had dinner at the Crown Grill.  The steaks were amazing, and the creamed spinach was incredible as always!  We really enjoyed it!  We met up with Neville and discussed the possibility of the Chef's Table.  He was going to see what he could do.

Monday was our first sea day.  We went down to suite breakfast, which is held in Harmony.  The food is absolutely incredible!  We are getting up early everyday just for that breakfast!  Our dedicated server, Ruiz is so funny and so kind!  After breakfast we had a couple's massage with Luchie and Sherill. We were very happy to see that they have limited the upselling.  They were incredible!  We loved it so much that we booked another one for Tuesday!  After the massage we went back to the room for a shower and nap time.  We got up in time for Afternoon Tea, which is one of my favorite times of the day!  The little sandwiches are soooo good!!! The evening we went to Sur Le Mer for dinner.  For appetizers my husband had the Eggs Florentine, and I had the Lobster Bisque.  My husband said the Eggs Florentine was one of the best things he has ever had in the ship!  The Lobster Bisque is served in authentic French style, in a large bowl with this amazing puff pastry cooked over the bowl!  It was an incredible presentation!!! After dinner we spent some time at Ocean's Terrace Bar.  Fabian, Roshan, and Alisha are the bartenders there and they are incredible!  We have had Fabian as a bartender on our Canada New England cruise and his drinks are amazing!!!

Tuesday, yesterday, was almost a carbon copy of Monday.  We had our suite breakfast and massage in the morning again.  We arrived in Juneau a little late, but chose to get Alfredo's pizza while everyone was shuffling off the ship.  The pizza was so good!  After lunch we spent a couple hours walking around the town.  We found a store called Shoefly, and fell in love with it.  The people are so nice!!! My husband picked up a pair of boots that are nice enough to wear to dinner.  The night we ate in the dining room.  The crab and artichoke dip, along with the chicken bites were sooooo good!!! We met up with Neville again and found out that he got us on the Chef's Table for Thursday night!!!  I'M SO EXCITED!!!!  I can't wait!!!!

We are off to the Alaska Christmas Store in Skagway.  I will update more later.

Congratulations! You found my favourite shoe store. I buy a pair of funky shoes there every time I'm in Juneau. And I come from a large city in Canada. Sadly, no cruise for me until 2022. Love the selection in that store. I'm happy to know that the store is still there, in Juneau. Woo hoo!

Thanks. I've talked to a lot of the head officers and stuff and pretty much a lot of them I have all set the same thing where a maiden voyage when you're starting from a brand new ship it's so much easier to get started. Whereas here they're picking up all the pieces from being on a pause it's a whole different ballpark really. I think they're just trying to figure themselves oh and how to run more efficiently and whatever it is. I just kept telling them that it was okay because I know everyone is trying to get shall we say the veins of the ship back up and running.

Thank you for taking the time to report. Hope you are enjoying yourself. Are you going to dine in Crown Grill or Harmony?

  9. Thank you for all the great information, Week 2 Cruisers. It is such a treat to follow along with you all. Congrats to OP for winning the YES/NO game. Well done! Pictures of scenery are appreciated as you take us along for the ride.

Food pics are devoured with the fondest of memories. I've sailed a few times to Alaska myself, but not on Majestic yet, until next year.

Enjoy every mouthful, every moment. Anyone tried Harmony yet?

Looking at the app now it looks like you can only order the Princess Favorites from the Main Dining Room menu (on the app) - shrimp cocktail, salmon, fettuccini Alfredo, etc

Speaking of which, I read on CC that people love the fettuccine Alfredo so I had that with shrimp added last night. OMG so good!

I thought Alfredos would be more grab a pizza slice to go so a little disappointed  that it’s a sit down restaurant. But hope to try it!

Glad we didn’t go to tea today. That line would have prevented us from trying it. We weren’t sure if you could stop in anytime. Hope so!

Alfredos is well worth a try. My guess- once you go there, you'll want to go again. It is open throughout the day - go for a snack. Loads of good food there! Be served, relax- you are on holiday! Hope the tea service gets worked out. It is also well worth trying. Afternoon delight. More service. Enjoy!

I always adore my afternoon tea. I will be trying it again without a question. I know everything is trial and error as they're restarting so as anything that starts back up you just need to be patient and give them time..

Hahahaha. I was always taught you'll never know what something tastes like unless you try it.

Go for it! All of it! I'm with you - and your lovely waitress

The weather could not be more beautiful it is absolutely the perfect temperature for me at least. It's been a lovely sea day absolutely relaxing and peaceful. Express how much I love a reduced passenger capacity.

I went to afternoon tea like I have in past cruises but fair warning on a typical afternoon tea event normally the opening is always been 3:00 to 4:15 and people can trickle in during that time period. However with the whole reservation system everybody lined up at 3:00 at the door and according to the interview there was at least 393 passengers signed up so you can imagine how long that line was to Timbuktu. I felt so bad for the wait stuff as it had to be such a overwhelming tea service because everyone poured in at the same exact time like a bus had just dropped everyone off. Personally I think they should have done like a group a in a group b sign up or just tell passengers you could come at any time during this window not all at 3:00 because I think it was just too much to handle for the crew members.

Dinner was absolutely fantastic my waitress is adorable I'm her guinea pig to try any of the new items that they have at it recently to the menus to give her my feedback on it. So please don't judge on the amount of food you might see from my dinner just so you are all aware I do not clear my plate I'm really good at taste testing and enjoying all the wonderful different flavors.

In order the pictures you will see the delicious snapper followed by the herb garlic  broccoli pesto tagaletti with chicken. For dessert highly recommend the pecan caramel turtle cheesecake it was by far my favorite for the evening. The famous chocolate journeys hazelnut chocolate bar and pistachio creme brulee.

I would love to be at the table to sample these along with you. I love to eat that way on the ship. Thanks for the comments about the tea as well. I hope they are able to make some adjustments to improve the process. I hope you try that again - and report back. I highly recommend going for tea upon your return from one of your ports. Always a welcome treat after time ashore.

    Hi everyone,

It’s time, and, true to form we changed our plans just yesterday. I hope you’ll follow along. It will be a bit disjointed, as my posts for the next week or so will have to be published via cellular internet in the ports, but once we get on the Majestic Princess, there will hopefully be daily posts.

Frankly, it’s all kind of a dream right now.  I’m so ready for this!

Now that I’m less hangry lol, I’ll catch up on the travel day. My flight arrived just before 6 pm and I took the hotel shuttle to the Red Lion hotel which is just outside the airport. There is a liquor store, several restaurants and a gas station within walking distance. I ordered food for pick up from Sharp’s Roasthouse. I had the Alaska Cod tacos and salted caramel apple strudel. Both we’re very good and they had a nice crowd inside and out. The hotel clerk recommended 13 Coins or Sharps for dinner. 13 coins looked good too but the tacos sounded good, and they were. Of course not as pretty in a takeout container as plated, but tasted great. The Red Lion airport hotel is that, an airport hotel and somewhere quick and easy for a night. Check in was quick and friendly, the room is clean and the shower is strong and hot. The light rail station is close by if you want to go to Pikes or downtown. The Seattle Express service is picking me up here at 9 tomorrow morning and taking to the port to finally board the beautiful Majestic Princess 😍🚢

When you have the PBP, aren't the bottles of wines available for a 20% discount?

Thanks for looking into this - didn't see anyone else post this question YET!

The package includes all beer, spirits, wine by the glass and cocktails $12.00 USD and under as listed on our menu(s), or $16.00 AUD and under for voyages departing from and returning to Australia and New Zealand.

The package includes bottled water (500ml only), fountain sodas, fresh juices (if available), specialty coffees and teas, Frappés at Coffee & Cones, milk shakes (if available) and Red Bull energy drinks.

The package provides a 25% discount on the following excluded items: all bottles of wine, one liter bottles of water, canned soda and bottled juices.

FOUND my own answer - pasted here from the website.

For Have Dog and others - have you purchased any bottles?

    Thanks for ALL the research.
