  1. We are looking at booking a Caribbean cruise soon and one of our ports of call is St. Thomas

We have never been to St. Thomas before and I was wondering what is their to do there?, any tips/ideas??

    Can you snorkel there?

Any tips/advise/ideas are very welcome :)

we ALWAYS go to St John when in ST tHomas for beautiful snorkeling by ourselves. Take Taxi to Red hook Ferry in St Thomas for ride to St John (you can look up red hook ferry schedule). Then get on a small bus to Trunk Bay when at St John. They will be all over the place. You can rent snorkle gear there. It is amazing! Google Trunk bay! The ships have tours there but its $$ and they herd you in and out. Enjoy! We will be there in Sept!!

  2. If you want to go to St. John, it's the one time I'd recommend the ship's excursion. The ferry picks you up at the cruise pier and returns you to the same spot. The extra few dollars beats taking a taxi to Red Hook and then the public ferry.

We have done it on our own 3 times with no problems. Saw the tour come in from the ship herding everyone on and they dont let you stay very long. It was so enjoyable to go at our own pace leaving plenty of time to return. ready to do it again in Sept. I think its my favorite beach ever, plus there is a nice restaurant right off the ferry to sit on the deck and have a cocktail on th water...ohh I cannot wait!! :D

  3. Hey everyone!

My wife and I are traveling on the Freedom of the Seas this Sunday and I have a few questions...

    1) We are both planning to purchase the "Premium Drink Package". I understand the $12 limit idea, but with the recent change in drink prices/menus, how do I know which drinks are included in the package if the majority of the new menu's don't list the prices? I don't want to be the guy that asks "Hey is this included?" every time I want a drink :)

    2) We are both first time "Platnum" cruisers and have heard we can get priority booking. How do we go about doing that?

    3) Speaking of firsts...this will be our first cruise that we aren't doing any shore excursions, but still want to do things in port. We are going to CoCo Cay, St Thomas, and St Maartin. Any nice beaches that are close by to the docks? Also are there fun places to shop/go see that wont cost my life savings :) ?

Thanks for your time and happy cruising!!

We always when in St Thomas take the ferry to St John to visit Trunk Bay. Its one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (travel magazine). Take taxi to Red Hook ferry and about a 30 min ferry ride over to St John. You wont be disappointed. I think you will see a lot of fellow passengers doing it.

    Google it..have a blast!!

  4. All in all, even with the all of what you have posted, you cannot go anywhere for these prices. Essentially $200 a night and up with all entertainment, food and a nice room? Also, if there is bad weather you are not stuck in it like you would be on a land vacation. Anyway, we have a done land vacations in Mexico and Florida and spent a lot more overall daily then we do cruisng. I think its a good bang for your buck...but thats just me :D

  5. Went to RCCL website to maybe book a cruise on Oasis next Nov. We usually always book balcony so that I want for sure. I had read on here *somewhere* that there are balconies where you can see the ocean and also the things going on in the interior. Any idea where and/or what deck that would be?? Seeing the ocean is a must for us. I am a bit concerned about the size of the ship..kind of scary  What are the best rooms to grab to watch the aqua show from your balcony? Thanks in advance

  6. So wait... I am cruising Liberty in august 15. I have been just making 3-400 dollar payments every few weeks. Will i actually be notified,or be able to see,on my RC acct. any price drop that may occur? I was curious how to ck that. Thanks Dan

I was never notified of any price drops?? I had to keep doing mock bookings to see the current price. By doing that I found 2 price drops then I called RCCL and they mad the adjustment :)

  7. Anyone know if these are the same prices when you get on the ship...cause now when I look online for my upcoming cruise this Oct...it puts it is $20 plus the 15% gratuity for a 13 day it is $299 for the Royal Replenish Package ...I have alot of shipboard credit coming so didn't know if I should just wait.

I talked to Royal yesterday about the ship credit and the drink package. She suggested I get the package when I get on the ship so the credit can be applied. It would not be applied to the package if I do it beforehand. She also suggested I buy it starting on the second day of the cruise, as the first day its kind of hard, (the liquor package), to use it and have it be worth it. Great advice I think. :p

  8. Maybe someone on this thread can help me. After reading this, I thought it would be a nice Christmas present to get my parents a few shares of RCI stock as they've recently become addicted to cruising (yes, my fault....guilty!) I don't expect them to become rich off it or even make any real money, but it's something different. My Mom has always loved watching stocks rise and fall, but has never really owned any. Are there places that I can go and just buy a few shares of stock without a broker? Is there a fee for doing that? I know you probably can't name companies here, but I'm just wondering how I go about doing it.

    Thanks in advance...

Just Google how to buy single share of stock as a gift. I read it and they send it in a frame with the persons name on it ect. I think it would be a cute gift

  9. Hare is a link to a picture of the pool, you can see the "bar" in the water under the bridge. Just out of the picture to the right, beyond the steps is the cocktail bar.
