Ask floridalover - he uses rum runners according to him and has never been caught

Can the coffee punch card be used in the dining room or specialty restaurants?
Old thread but
I have used it in MDR and it is iffy in the specialty dining rooms. I have always been able to get two cups of coffee with one card - but then - I do put some $ in their tip jar each day
-
He will pay if he brings wine to the dining room.
Not if you bring it in a wine glass
-
Just trolling?
No are you - I was offering a suggestion based on floridalovers extensive experience
-
No, it was just a gentle bump, having a bit of fun about "rules" is all.
But, you can do as you like of course.
No problem - I have all the known trolls on my list now

When going into the DR if I am not directed to put on a tux or a dark suit I do not return to my cabin. ;p (I couldn't resist)
(If they don't collect it up front, they will collect in the DR).
I don't carry the bottle I carry a wine glass from my cabin
Is this a subtle request for my IGNORE list?

After 48 Princess cruises we decided to try Celebrity because everyone said the food was much better - WRONG - food on Celebrity in the MDR is below cheap land based buffet quality - had salmon that tasted like sawdust - sent 4 meals back on a 7 day cruise - and should have sent the replacement back - NEVER AGAIN. Maybe they save the good food for the specialty dining which are more expensive than Princess.

And there are lots of people who drive 75 in a 65 zone, and say they do it all the time without a ticket. Just because "that's how everyone else does it", doesn't make it right. Policy and bag tags clearly instruct that it's wrong.
The end result is that the rules say carry on. If you choose to check it in your bags, there are three possibilities: no one will notice, someone will notice and call you down to the naughty room, or you'll be kicked off the ship for violating the policies.
When going thru security if I am not directed to the pay table I do not go to the pay table

I hope everyone is aware that Princess reads this forum.
Yes

Exactly! I mean really how are they going to know where your glass of wine came from!:')
Stewart or room service will usually bring water glasses (they look similar to wine glasses). I usually borrow wine glasses from one of the bars when they are closed or have our waiter bring us empty wine glasses after dinner to use the next night

Coffee quality is very subjective and there is no good answer to the OP. We don't like Starbucks, we buy dollar store coffee at home.
-
Cheaper to smuggle on - ask floridalover how he does it

If you need to drink, you must be prepared to pay

I am here to tell all fellow CC members that I am Travel Rewards Program Addict, but I have been addiction free for three years.(I stayed out of the gutter and never couchsurfed)
I had to give up Travel rewards programs because I was addicted to free flights, hotels, meals and the like. My wife made me stop the insanity after I had banked over 20 flights each. We have slowly used up these flights and I have promised never to go back to the ways of the the addict again. (I still have a cash back credit card)
I would encourage anyone who has a TRPA to seek help.
In my world nothing is FREE. Somewhere , someplace you had to buy something to get a free flight, hotel or whatever -

where on their website? You cannot prebook using OBC or a promotion or gift. You can only prebook a reservation if you are paying by credit card. This is not a website problem - it is Princess policy as stated on their website:Any reservations using onboard credits or promotional specialty dining credits must be made onboard the ship. Additional dates and times may be available onboard. Once onboard, please call the DINE line to inquire about additional times, or to use an onboard or specialty dining credit to make reservations -
Can't prebook - however - if you are on a b2b you can book for the second cruise on the last day of the first cruise
-
Tried many times and have never been offered obc of any kind for booking onboard.

Hmmmm. Now, I may have completely misunderstood your post but I get the feeling you don't really like cruising?
Unless of course you do like going to the same places over and over, eating the same food over and over and listening to the same boring cruise stories over and over
Looks like you are a candidate for giving up cruiseing and doing land based vacations
-
Does an inside stateroom equate to a b+/a- condo? Do people drink, visit specialty dining, shop, take excursions or do just about anything while on a cruise?
People in inside cabins are created equal to people in inside cabins and are allowed to do everything available on the ship. I don't know what your equation means
-
Why are you keeping them then?
I am looking because I normally do not cruise Princess and was looking to schedule a few activities from my roll call and wanted an idea of which sea day had activities that should not be missed so I wouldn't have too many conflicts.
I collect them
The activities vary from cruise to cruise so an old patter of a similar cruise you are taking may be totally different - just sayin
-
I have patters from 48 cruises dating back to 1996 but am not going to take the time to scan and file them - don't know what good they are as they are all cruise specific
-
Yes, it can still be done like we did just recently.
How will this work with the new medallion system/
-
Bargain?
We can fly to any resort location in the North American "area" for around $ 1,500 total economy class, rent a b+/a- condo for around $ 3,500 a month, spend $ 4,000 total for things during the month. Around, $ 9,000 for a month.
Can we get the same on a Princess ship, NO. We definitely spend more.
But, it is a different experience.
Beg to differ -you can get an inside cabin for a little more than $100 pp per day which amounts to about $6000 per month

fishy, has princess sent out price increase emails on any onboard services besides the dsc? Specialty restaurants, soda packages, spa treatments, etc? I am thinking the dsc was the exception rather than the rule, and may have happened only because, while technically removable, the dsc is automatically applied to everyone, where the other choices are individually selected.
dsc????
Changing from suit and tie to casual wear after dining in MDR on Formal Night? Do you
in Princess Cruises
Posted
There are some posters that say you do not even need to pack a jacket/suit or tie - I do pack and wear a suit and do not change until I retire for the night
