  1. LFK was beautiful. Our package included 2 drink tickets and a mixed plate of food. Drinks were plenty strong, the food was just OK. My son ordered a burger and it was good. some others ordered a pizza and it was thin crust and sufficient. Water was clear, We enjoyed jumping off tower and paddle boards.

Did not go to Piano Bar. We were by there several times going in and out of comedy show and i never really noticed much of a crowd?

  2. Wow what a great trip and so hard to remember everything.

Let me start with some background.

Myself, my wife, and 15 year old son were invited to tag along with a group of 21 other people. One of that group was a 13 year old boy that was going to room with us. We booked our cabins with myself and my son in one cabin and my wife and the 13 year old in the other. Booking went great but we were unable to purchase FTTF for one of our rooms. Every other cabin in the group had FTTF and some of you will remember a thread where i had questions about this. Turns out that Carnival was very accommodating. From the security guard to the supervisor at check in. We were given a hand written note allowing the other 2 to board with the group. There were no other FTTF privileges attached, only the ability to board early. So we were able to drop our carry ons in the fttf room and away we went.

Most of the other group were experiences cruisers so it was their tradition to head to the lido deck for lunch at the wok station. Food was tasty but nothing special. Teenagers couldn't get past Guys so they stopped there and we ate and enjoyed a few Drinks of the Day.

Speaking of Drinks, i purchased Cheers for myself and since my teenager was assigned to my cabin i only had to purchase it for me. We purchased the bubbles package for the teens. I will admit that i did "share" a few drinks with my wife but most of the time we would go to get drinks at the same time and she would use her sign and sail. Never had an issue.

Next we went to Guest Services and got my wife a key to my room and my son a key to the other room. Needless to say, the teens stayed together and we stayed together. No issues.

I don't have time or memory to write about everything we did. But generally our morning schedule involved the serenity deck with coffee, buffet breakfast or sea day brunch. Next would be casino, trivia, games, etc. Lunch was usually Guys. We had early dining and then would attend the main show and or the comedy club. After that more time in the casino and numerous trips to Alchemy and then off to bed.

The oldest teen spent most of his time in Club O2 and loved every minute of it. the younger teen who was not as outgoing did not care for his club so he did his own thing.

We did Steakhouse Wednesday night and it was worth every penny.

Our excursions were Little French Key, Butts Up cave tubing, and Mr. Sanchos.

Disembarkation was a snap. Off the ship by 7:15.

I will attempt to answer any questions that anyone might have.

  3. The carnival web site is giving me FITS!! so i decided to come to the place with the real answers.. THANKS CC

My check in time is 11:00. I thought i read somewhere that you can't even enter the port until your time? Is that correct? So do i pull into garage, drop off luggage with porter, then sit in car until 11:00? What does the logistics of this process look like?

    THANK!

  4. Ultra, i totally agree, there is no way i would check 8 bags to one room. I am truly not trying to scam, i am just trying to operate within the rules and limits allowed by the line. I did reread the suggestions that you refer to and it does say 2 bags per person for 7 day cruise. We are on a 7 day so i'm guessing cutting back from a suggested 8 to an actual of 3 shouldn't ruffle any feathers.

  5. tw67, we have two cabins, Myself and 15 year old assigned to one, and we got FTTF for this cabin. My wife and 13 year old assigned to separate cabin. We were unable to purchase FTTF for this cabin. We have tried for months. So, we basically have 3 luggage items to check. We do not pack one bag per person, we try to combine when possible. So i am trying to figure out if there is a limit to the number of bags per person that can be checked using FTTF. I see no need to "not check one" if there isn't a rule because all our stuff is mixed and mingled anyway.

  6. Because we have a 13 and 15 year old traveling with us, we booked two cabins and we were not able to get FTTF for one. I have already posted about this in another thread... ANYWAY. Is there any reason or rule that would prevent us from tagging all luggage to the same cabin that has FTTF so it will be available when we board ship. Since they don't have FTTF, we can just store everything in our cabin until their room is ready correct?

  7. So if you feel your group should have an exception...why wouldn't everyone who feels they have a good reason get one? Its not a big deal...the 13 year old will be amazed just driving up to the ship.

Also if their boarding time is 11am---just all go at 11am...that's still early and you can all be together.

No, i do not feel like by group should have an exception. And most likely a few of the group will forfeit the FTTF advantage and hang back with two that does not have it.

  8. I should have been more clear i suppose. The photo op was only one of the reasons and i just used it as an example. There is really more to it. My DW agreed to be paired with one of the children of the group that got FTTF but we were unable to get it for her cabin. This is our first cruise in 27 years and the 13 year old child's first ever. We just all wanted to be together boarding to see his face light up when he walks on board. There are numerous family members and it would just be a fun experience and stinks that Carnival will not accommodate such a situation. I get all of the staffing issues and such but i'm sure there are not that many groups in our situation and adding 1 cabin can't be that big of a deal. Oh well, thanks for the input and I guess we will work it out someway.

  9. while booking for a group of 24 people, the last 2 were not able to purchase fttf. We have diligently watched for months. We are now 12 days out with no hope of getting FTTF for the last two. We really want to board as a group for a picture. Any suggestion?

  10. Thanks to all that have replied and to any ones that choose to chime in moving forward. Being an accountant I can easily calculate the break even and all of that. I just wanted to here the stories and really just how many are on which side. Worth and cost are vastly different and that is really not the point of this thread. It's really more and being glad u did or sad u didn't.

  11. 1) bought the cheers program and then after that cruise regretted it because u didn't feel like u drank enough to pay for it..

    And/or

    2) chose not to buy cheers and after the cruise realized it would have saved you money and wished you had made the purchase

    Stories and explanations? Thanks!

  12. I put in a reservation a couple days ago for a reservation on my upcoming cruise. It stated that they would send me an email confirming my reservation. Usually those type emails come fast. I have not yet received the confirmation and as stated earlier, its been a couple days. Should I be concerned that it didn't go thru or was rejected. Should I check or give it a couple more days? anyone have any history or knowledge on this

  13. 1.) We have a group of 24 people. We were able to get FTTF for all but 2. We have an independent excursion. We are hoping that they will let all of us have priority boarding since we are all on same excursion. Are we going to have issue with the 2 people who were unable to purchase fttf.

    2) Do you happen to have any Fun Times schedules you could post.
