  1. When I accessed my cruise manager I was logged into the new format.  It will be nice when they get to the point the Hub App will be available post cruise so you can embed photos etc into the Hub app schedule.  I've been asking for a while for this function and based on this new format I hope they are moving closer to the possibility.

I keep them in the box, but I cut open the box so they can see the tops so they don't touch them.

I have seen the security staff destroy boxes to inspect the soda so it is a good idea to have a bag or something to put them in if this happens.

Since I started doing this security has never pulled or touched a can out of the box in the bottom of my carry on bag.

  3. I would keep checking because they have to hold slots for the Platinum & Diamond card holders.  So depending on the number of those guests they may open slots up.  Also, one week before you cruise I would email the maitre d' with your request.  Keep in mind they do not have to respond, but often do.

  4. We always pay the CCL gratuities and when we first meet the steward I give a $20 tip up front and another $20 on the last night.  Along with keeping the ice bucket full it helps in other ways.  We have been on the Pride 9 times, it is often late returning to Baltimore.  2 of the 9 cruises returned late, guests were asked to leave their staterooms so the stewards can start cleaning.  Both time our steward told us to stay in the stateroom until we were docked.  The staff is wonderful to us and it is worth it to me.

I've read on a few threads here about there being a lot of vibration at the back of the Carnival Pride. 2 questions:

    1) can anyone confirm whether this was fixed when the ship was in dry dock?

    2) can anyone confirm whether the cabin I currently have booked for August is far enough forward that it should not be a problem? I'm in cabin 8216. Here's a screen capture of where that cabin is in relation to the aft of the ship. Many thanks!

Your stateroom is far enough forward, we have stayed in staterooms just forward of the stairs and didn't feel the vibration that we did in the MDR.  I hope the other posts are correct and it was addressed during dry dock!

  6. Cruising is all about making your vacation what you want.  They are not the cookie cutter cruises from yesteryear, with one pool, no slides, no specialty restaurants.  The way I see cruising today is you purchase the standard model, then if you want you can add options to make it enjoyable for you.  We always take twice a day stateroom servicing, always ask for an ice bucket, always ask for robes, never worry about anyone else on our cruise and always have fun!

I'm seeing conflicting reports now from passengers saying that the nude artwork is still there.  So maybe this dry dock port guy was trolling us...  Possible false information in my original post.

Maybe some was modified, but definitely not all...  I've seen the pictures to prove it.

I saw JH FB page comments from someone who states they are on the Pride now indicating some art has been covered but not all.  I hope we can get a full dry dock report on Sunday.

  8. I would continue to check now but I would start looking at least 12 months out from your cruise and would check at least twice daily.  Another key point of time is the day your last payment is due.  I have purchased FTTF for my daughter and husband two before they were schedule to cruise.  The purchasing window can be very large.  If you really want it I would keep checking.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

  9. Yes, you are able to see straight out to the water from all the obstructed view staterooms.  I try to avoid staterooms that are located by the first three lifeboats on each side since they are larger then than the others.  The staterooms between the lifeboats you have a channeled view of the water below.

  10. Don't forget the scheduled arrival time is always 10am. Arriving late is common during the winter, it happened for a few of our Pride cruises. It may have left dry dock a little late. This is a small thing for guests leaving on a cruise and we have learned not to sweet the small things.  Late arrivals have a larger effect on people that have to fly home, in this case it may only effect crew leaving at the end of their contract.

Enjoy your vacation and can't wait to hear about the ship's updates when you return.
