  1. if your kid is not into Kid's club onboard, then he might be bored on Princess as there is nothing to do for kids, especially if it rains on a sea day. We loved Bonaire (Lac Bay!!!) and Aruba for the beach and the butterfly farm (but we have 6 year old), and were somewhat disappointed by Curacao (I picked an underwhelming Pirate bay beach).

We've never been on Celebrity, but I understand it's also geared towards adults.

Belize is great if you go on the underground river tubing (loved it! don't go through the cruise), Cozumel is usually boring for us, but we'll try snorkeling this time, Grand Cayman's Stingray city and snorkeling are fantastic; Costa Maya is boring - but you can make it a beach day.

So, depending on what you like doing (active or passive) and how much money you want to spend - it's your choice.

  2. Asking again PLEASE if anyone knows.

We don't go to MUTS but would love to go for some HOT Popcorn if it's an All Day thing.

well, it's Movies under the Stars, so I've only seen the popcorn when the stars come out.

P.S. we were so full after dinner every night, that we had no space for any popcorn in our stomachs. DS did enjoy some because his dinners were not as gargantuan as ours.

  3. there is a market area inside the port, but we didn't feel unsafe when we ventured outside the port area. We "hired" a local guide wearing a uniform for $20, and he showed us around the fishing village for a couple of hours and took us to some local food joint. Hubs liked the chicken. I am too scared to eat off the ship.

  4. goat cheese souffle is awesome and I do not even like goat cheese. go figure
true, it is awesome, and I don't care for goat cheese either.

I personally go for anything with shrimp in it (not fried, though) and love it. I also try most soups (unless they have beans or onions). I can no longer enjoy sweet cold fruit soups, though (too much sugar), but when I could enjoy them, I found them to be spectacular.

    My friends love Beef Wellington.

The dessert that shocked us all on Regal was Semi-Freddie. It's a hazelnut mousse dessert and it was shockingly good. That was a year and a half ago, and we still talk about it.

We sail in 3 weeks on Regal, and I am salivating already. Can't wait! Yes, cruises are the time of pure, unadulterated gluttony for me personally.

  5. Contact Princess Immediately - Explain nicely, but firmly how extremely disappointed your are about this situation. Ask for no cost grats, specialty dinner(s) cabin upgrade and to be put on waitlist for a medallion room. Don't take the first answer as a done deal - ask to be transferred to Customer Relations who are the real decision makers. Nice, but firm

like I said on the roll call for our cruise - I called twice so far and got nada. Was, however, placed on a waiting list, even though I don't want to change my cabin at all.

  6. I’m only 4’ 11’ so I hate to think about anyone taller in that hugely cramped space.
my hubby is 6'1 and has never had a problem with bumping his head on a folded Pullman bed.

We only have one kid, so only one Pullman bed is in use at all times. Since my husband is much taller than me, the Pullman bed is used above my twin bed. He's never had a problem with the bed above his head when it's not in use.

It is, however, impossible to sit on the lower bed if the Pullman bed is in use. You can only lie down, unless you are extremely short or a child. But if it's not in use - it may be slight inconvenience to most, but not "omg, it was hell, pure hell!".

    IMHO.

So, if you have a choice, and the price and location are the same, go for 2 person cabin. If the location and price are much better for the 4 person cabin - heck, I'd go for that.

What I thought of as hell were regular Regal Princess beds (the lower twins). I didn't sleep for a week, they were so hard and unwelcoming. I was in pain for the duration of the cruise. Hubs thought they were very uncomfortable as well.

  7. I think it's more important what the difference in price was when you booked, not what the current price is.

we booked a month ago. Prices haven't changed much at all - fluctuating within $40.

So, I think offering an upsell on a balcony for $99 MORE pp when the balcony actually costs less than what we paid for the inside is an insult.

I am not asking for a refund.... Just thinking - wow, trying to sell something for more $$ when it costs less than you already paid for it.

  8. my parents just got an upsell offer from inside to a standard balcony as well. We didn't call them. Princess wanted $99 pp, which is a joke, because we paid $619 pp for inside, and at the moment a balcony room is $649 pp. The obstructed balcony is $594 pp.

    This upsell offer is offensive.

  9. oh ok bummer.. guess I will try the cookie sandwich one...have to go back and see what its name is. I forgot to ask on this past cruise on the crown but it might have been a good thing as our waiter was not the best. Every time he filled the water glasses he spilled water on the table, my bread, me, my chair and my DH. When we asked for ketchup for the fries that came with the burger my DH ordered he brought the bottle out but wouldn't let us have it...he insisted on pouring it out on the plate or shall I say shaking it out...and then took the bottle with him......***. My DH had to hold up his napkin as he thought he would end up with ketchup in his lap. I had to ask for the fresh parmesan on the fettuccini. When something was forgotten that we ordered he huffed and walked away. I have never had this kind of service on a princess ship before and was appalled and amazed. Princess heard about it on our review and he felt it in the extra tip we gave. DH insisted we give something since he did get us out on the couple of nights we said we had a show etc.....but then again he seemed to rush us out no matter what as he didn't want to deal with us...but I let my DH handle it since he is in the food service industry.
wow, he was that bad and you still gave him an extra tip????????? That'll show him.
  10. 2 to 3 entrees !

What about the appetizers, soup, salad?

I'm thinking a lot of it is only to try a taste.

Maybe you should stick to the buffet & you can sample everything.

thanks for the judgment. The buffet doesn't have all the seafood entrees that I usually go for. Maybe, you should take your opinion and keep it to yourself.

And no, I don't eat salad on the cruise.

  11. I have to ask and am not judging. Do you order 2-3 smaller portions of each entree or 2-3 full portions of each entree?

Full. I usually get no more than 2 entrees, and if I really want a 3rd one, my hubs orders it and shares it with me. I usually finish both entrees, unless I hate the food. There were only a handful of times I had to send the food away. Most notably, inedible pasta alfredo on our Caribbean princess last year.

I can eat a lot. The entrees are in addition to the appetizers.

But I only order what I really-really want. Sometimes there are no entrees that I think I'd like, but there is a ton of appetizers that I know I'd love, so I don't get any entrees. I don't like to waste food (I have a special relationship with it).
