On all our MSC cruises we’ve been allowed to check in and board at whatever time we have arrived at the port usually about 11.00am
Thank you!

You will be able to board anytime from around 11.30 no matter the time stated on your paperwork.
Perfect, thank you!
I just wanted to check as my documents say not to arrive early.

Hi everyone,
I have searched and searched and cannot find a similar question and answer so I hope one of you wise and experienced people in here can help...
I board Divina on May 5 and my check in time states 2:45pm. When I check out of my central Rome hotel at 11:00am I would like to make my way to Civitavecchia port and arrive around 1:00pm, instead of hanging around.
Are MSC strict with check in times, or should it be okay to board earlier? Sailaway is 7:00pm.
Many thanks
Andy

We’re on Divina the week before you, we’ll be disembarking on the 5th.
I started a roll call a while ago and only one person has posted on it besides me lol
This is our our first time on MSC but we’ve been cruising for over 25 years.
I was hoping for a more active roll call too!
I plan on posting some live updates on the boards here throughout our cruise so if you have any questions for us or if you’d like me to photograph anything specific on the ship I’ll try to post responses when I can!
Hi,
I started a Roll Call for our sailing too. The only activity was an auto post!
Thanks very much. I will keep my beady eyes open.
Have a great cruise!

Thanks for prompt reply - our age hasn't put you off! Wow SE Asia - last winter I was land-based in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam for 4 months. So we have similar experiences to compare/contrast.
I assume this is public so I must find out if there is a PRIVATE messaging facility.
Sorry, make that dot co dot uk, not com!

To 1sttimecruisee - welcome from me/us. In fact this will be our first cruise but not yours I believe. I/we join the cruise in Valencia on May 2nd and so will have had a couple of days of getting lost and perhaps starving too by the time you arrive. I put we/I because my other half may not want to join me on the tours and travels I'll get up to. So who knows, we may even meet up - no idea on nationalities on board but we are Brits (healthy and active but perhaps to you elderly at 65/70) and welcome you colonials back to the cradle of civilisation. By all means message me if you want to and we'll see how it goes. This is my first CC roll call visit so no idea if it works effectively. Whatever, I wish you an excellent cruise - how was your first one, presumably ok if you are doing a second?
Hi Heliopolis,
Great to hear from you.
Yes, my first cruise was great. It will be good to be slightly nearer to home without so much travelling as SE Asia requires!
Glad to see we will get 4 days together onboard. Hope we can arrange to meet up.
Thanks
Andy

Hi everyone,
I have my 2nd ever cruise coming up in just over 5 weeks onboard Divina and will be travelling solo. My only other cruise was with Celebrity in December. We had an extremely active Roll Call so I got chatting to many people pre cruise and met up with many of them throughout our cruise. The fact that Roll Calls are pretty much non-existent for MSC Mediterranean sailings due to embarkation & debarkation at each port, I am more than a little nervous that it will be a lonely affair.
Will anyone be onboard during the above dates at all? If not, are MSC ships generally a social affair? I pretty much travel solo all the time but have to admit I am a little daunted by the lack of interaction with other passengers before boarding.
Many thanks for any insight.

Have a great time on your cruise and at Halong Bay. Are you doing a junk overnight cruise?
Only just noticed this as wasn't following. No, I did an overnight in Hanoi 😊

Shot in the dark here, but if 1sttimecruisee is still around, how was 6048? Any regrets on the switch? How was your cruise?
6048 was great. A really good wide angled balcony. Apart a slight obstructed view of the ocean from the lifeboats below, it was a great position facing the stern of the ship.
I didn't get to see 6026 that I originally booked to make a comparison but I don't regret the swap one bit.
Apart from the limited choice of entertainment, I think everyone I spoke to really enjoyed the cruise; as did I. 😊
Thanks
Andy

Just found your blog this evening and enjoyed it immensely! What an amazing first cruise. You've set your bar pretty high!
Looking forward to "traveling" with you again in the future.
Thanks,

Thanks very much Angela.
It will be interesting to see what MSC has to offer in the Med in a few months..

Andy,
Just saw your post and thank you for posting detail account for your cruise with beautiful photos! We'll be taking 14 days japan and South Korea cruise with her in April. I saw the menu on post #99 and pretty much the very similar menu when we cruised in Caribbean. I was expecting to see local cuisine while we're in Asia.
I've a question for you if you don't mind. How many times they offer the laundry special during your 14 days cruise?
I assumed that they offered you twice during your cruise. They offered once when we had our 7 days cruise with Silhouette. We can stuff as many dirty clothes in a brown paper bag for flat fee. My daughters want to know so they can pack accordingly.
Thank you!
Yes, you are right. It was offered twice.
Enjoy your adventure! 😊

Andy,
Enjoyed your review very much. Interesting to see other perspectives, since we had only one trip in common.
But, are u sure the cyclo ride is from Bangkok😀?
Thanks, and have a smashing New Year,
No, it was clearly in Ho Chi Minh.
Jet lag has ruined me since I got home. I can't stop sleeping! 😁

25% back on FCC?
in Norwegian Cruise Line
Posted
I can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere, including when calling NCL...
I booked my July cruise using FCC only. As NCL canceled, do I get 125% FCC back or just the 100% I used?
Thanks in advance 😊
