  1. I have clients aboard. They are getting ready to go to the Crown Grill for dinner and are still in port. I relayed what you are all reporting as they knew they were doing something but wasn't quite sure. Hopefully they sail soon.

  2. Fresh off the ruby today we are already looking at what to watch price drops for. So far it's the 5 or 6 western Caribbean. From FLL (grand cayman , Roatann Honduras , Cozumel and princess cay or the southern Caribbean 10 nighter on royal or Caribbean princess, we'd love a Panama Canal but it's too long away from kids/dogs/work and too pricey. Probably not royal for 10 day unless price drops, we'd like something in the $500-$800 pp range for an inside cabin

We are really looking for a 7 night cruise with lots of ports that's a reasonable priced, but not over summer months, it just me and hubby on this one so school time is fine, we'd love the one that has San Juan as a port but it only seems to be offered in summer months and hubby can't do as it's busy season at work

We are willing to wait up to a year or a year and a half as we have other land locked vacations we will be taking but do have the on oars deposit down for the next princess cruise.

any ideas of any cruises any of you are booked on our looking at would be most welcome !

Since you live in Florida have you thought about booking another short cruise on the Ruby for January? They are having a great sale right now where you can have the cruise fare applied to another cruise in 2014. I have clients doing this in January and then planning on taking another cruise in December to use the credit.

One of my favorite 7 day cruises goes to St Thomas, St Martin, Princess Cays and Grand Turk. The Ruby picks these ports up again starting in November. If you stay away from the holiday weeks prices in November and December are pretty attractive.

  3. I have a big problem with this. Being an infection preventionist, these types of dispensers are not allowed in hospitals. Why? Because these types of containers are continually refilled or "topped up" and they become contaminated. Yes bacteria can grow in soap! If the dispensers are allowed to empty and cleaned and dried before being refilled, that prevents the chance of contamination. But that procedure is not going to happen on a ship.

I won't be using them and I almost want to be a rebel here and say we should all dump them out at the end of a cruise in protest - no money saving there.

I wonder when they inspect the ships if they will inspect the dispensers? Just a thought if they breed so many germs...

I liked the Lotus Spa products and hate to see them go.

  4. Is this a partial or full transit cruise? I was on the Coral full transit from Fort Lauderdale to Los Angeles last year. I scanned the Patters. Except for some of the entertainment, it should be similar to this years sailings. The link to the Patters is below in my signature.

Ours is the partial transit. I did look yours over but am anxious to the see the current activities, movies, entertainment, etc. Not that I like to pre plan too much but if there are classes offered, etc. I like to sort of have an idea if something catches my eye so I don't miss it.

  5. Which sailing in March are you on as I see three? We are on the 2/21 which arrives back on 3/4, so could not get them scanned in for you too see if you are leaving on the 4th as we could be crossing paths at the pier.

I always bring back the patters & scan them to go with our photos, so that won't be a problem.

    David & Ellen

We are on the March 15th sailing so that would work. Would love to see some sooner but getting them anytime would be awesome and yours would be the latest we could possibly see before leaving which is wonderful.

Please note my email address. Do you think you will be able to note the different theme nights in the dining room too?

  6. I am booked on the Coral Princess in March. I am hoping that someone that cruises the Coral in the next month or so would be so kind as to do a few things.

    1. Save and scan the patters to share.

    2. Take notes of the which dinner themes are which night. We would like to plan dinners in the specialty restaurants and like to do them on our least favorite nights.

I hope someone can help me out. If you are able can you please post back in this thread when you return and I will mark this one to notify me of new posts.

    Thank you!

  7. Can someone please tell me if there is a specific side of the ship to book to see the islands? Also, are some balcony cabins better than others? I am not familiar with NCL ships. With Princess some balcony cabins are covered, half covered, larger, etc. Just wondering how Pride of America is laid out.

Has anyone done the cruise tour? How was your experience?

    Thank you!

  8. I really enjoyed your review and a look at the Coral Princess. I'm a little nervous about sailing on heh, all mu Princess cruises have been on the larger ships, which I have loved. I'm sure though I'll survive my 11 nights on a ship!

May I ask a few questions? What kind of camera do you use and would you mind if I shared some of your Coral photos with others? They really give a good look at the ship and will keep everyone happy while we tick off the weeks till we sail.

  9. I really enjoyed your report. It was nice being back on the Crown for the week.

You might of seen me and my daughter in Club Fusion, the last formal night. If you were lucky you didn't as we really can't sing. She and I did a song together that we did while she was growing up, just for the 2 of us. We had fun and made a memory.

Next cruise up for us is the Coral. Do you have a link to a review on her?

  10. I keep crossing my fingers for an upgrade from my mini to a full suite. I have been in a mini numerous times, 3 times in E 731 and once in E730. Never an offer to go to a full suite. (sigh) You would think someone would want my cabin at some point.

  11. Lewie, thank you for taking time to share your cruise with us. I am doing my first cruise on to the Panama Canal in the spring and your live thread has been very helpful. I'm glad you had a good time and were able to stick with your budget. You must be a very special person as you made a lot of friends.

Sue, you are the kind of aunt I try to be with my nieces and nephews. How wonderful that Lewie has such a special aunt such as you. Both of your live threads have been very enjoyable!

  12. Oh, those seas were rough that night! It was my actual 50th birthday that night, I joked that the whole shipped dressed and celebrated. Many in our group, including my daughter were ill. They tried their best to be at dinner but slowly they dropped like flies. I told my daughter she didn't need to come to dinner but she felt bad (besides the seasickness) that is was my birthday so she came to dinner, only to leave for a while then return for the cake. A few others left during dinner, then we lost a few more after dinner on our way to the show. By the time we left the show to go to the casino there was just myself and one of my dear friends left to finish the night in the casino. Over a year later we are still laughing about that night, even those that were under the weather.

  13. Whimsy- that is cool. Were you on the roll call? We may have passed each other many times. Were you up on the top deck for sail away? I still have that video link I believe.

There's a great many photos and videos ahead and if they help bring back happy memories then my work is done. I loved the itinerary. Sea days and just a few fine ports.

I hope you keep following along. We all have different ways of enjoying our cruise. You certainly had a lot of good company on board with you and a reason to celebrate-where did you dine on your Birthday?

Best wishes and hope you pop in again as this long ramble unfolds...

    Norris

Yes, I was on the roll call but didn't do a lot with the roll call, excursions, sail away, etc. I had my own group so they kept me pretty busy. I probably started the roll call as we booked the cruise as soon as it came out.

We were on the back of the ship, by Outriggers for sail away if you have any video of that area at sail away I would love to see it.

I was at the meet and greet for a little while, the one where the Captain came to speak. My daughter came and drug me away though. Those 25 year olds demand so much of your time! :p

Your photos are so nice and I enjoyed your video last night walking the length of the ship. Looking forward to more of your review!
