Bingo. I lost all respect for the Carnival dining room when I saw this video.
I wouldnt wear anything like a tank top or a speedo to the MDR, but clearly just about anything else goes. ;)
That's Richard Simmons. He did the same thing when he came to pitch his new salad dressings to us. He ended up prancing on our conference room table.

If you do, you do so at your own risk. Any wet spills, plus faux marble surfaces, plus flip flops, and you may find yourself in the infirmary.
They are warning you for a reason. And it's not for fashion reasons.
BTW, I also advise you not to wear them on the lido deck either. At any time.

when I tell others who cruise that have never cruised on carnival that I sail with Carnival most immediately say they would never cruise with Carnival, due to the excessive partying that goes on.
I dont drink and have never noticed this...and I would notice it if it was around me...I just dont get it.
I've cruised since 1988, and still have never seen a "party ship" on any line, including something like 16 Carnival cruises.
But like any place where there are bars open all day, you may find one idiot that had too much to drink. Just hope it's not someone you are related to, or worse, staring you in the mirror.
I still think people misunderstand FUNSHIP wih party ship, and it takes off from there. And when challenged, the statement is usually always from someone who never set foot on a Carnival ship.

We tried it once. It was OK, but we missed the atmosphere of the MDR and our table mates.
Glad we did it, but will not repeat it.

The benefit is having as much skin exposed to the steam and heat. If modesty prevents that, that's your choice.
On the guys side, most are nude. But you do see some in bathing suits. And yes, you can wear what you like.

Nice to see this thread still going.
Any word if the EXoS will be moving any time soon? I've lost track. -
This just makes me so sad.
We had the pleasure to have him as a CD 3 times; twice on the Imagination, and then once on the Victory when she was new and came to town.
Not only was he a great host, but had a great personality, and he really loved those birds. He came around quite often with them in the public areas, including outdoors!
My favorite memory of him, before we even knew who he was, was pulling away in Miami, sailing past my favorite classic liner, the Norway, and have us cheer and shout her down when we sailed passed her.
On a different plane, he was always so spiritual at the end of the farewell show, where he brings everyone out on the stage, from the captain, down to the brass polisher, stating how amazed how all these people from so many nations can come together each week and put out a product, all while getting along so well, that that unity can't be emulated on land as well, among all the different countries.
I've enjoyed keeping up with him on his Facebook page, through his different projects, and his numerous pictures, conversing with him a couple of times. And how sad he was when he announced his mom had passed not too long ago.
Hearing his page is back up, I will have to visit one last time, knowing it will be extremely sad.
Rest in Peace, Corey. Hope the pain you were trying to avoid has been set free.

Just read there will be a tribute in John's blog tonight.

I keep hearing rumors that CD Corey Schmidt took his own life. I find that so hard to believe and hope that it's not true.
This would be sad if true.

I just read this horrible news. He's on my FB friend list. Will try to get more info.
How sad. One of my favorite CD's and was sad when he left CCL.

OK. Up to date and ready for more!
Good thing your Italian captain was no where near Giglio with his salutes. I think I had him on my first Legend cruise. Have to look. If yes, I've heard some, er, interesting stories about him.

I'm a slow reader, but I take it this is still a cruise frought with octenogarians and ninetenogarians? And what a disappointment about the horn. Our sail away not only has a horn blowing, but a horn blowing contest, with the Holiday, which was also in port with us, and sailed away first, with us following it out.
And no ukelaili (sp) band on the lido? That's the part that made the beginning of the cruise so special
I envy you guys though, that you got to sail back. We would have loved that down sea day relaxing time after that extensive 7 days of touring, but not at those prices!
Reading on...... (and can't wait to see the pix!)

Been looking forward to this one! I begin.....

Seems I've sailed 6 ships multiple times. No different than going back to a hotel.
Our favorite was returning to the ship that started it all for us twice; the Jubilee. We were hoping to. At h up with her one more time while she was a P&O ship down under, but it looks like that will never be.

Unfortunately, they don't allow you on the bow of the ship, like they do on the RCCL ships. There's even benches to lay on to sky watch.
On CCL, the only really dark spot is above the bridge, except for one sole light.
However, if you're on a Fantasy class ship, sneak out through the secret doors.

What's nice is you can use as little
or as much of your subject, as you like:

I've always had more vacation time than DW. I would turn a one week vacation into two, and she would join me on the second week. Got harder when I had 5 weeks, and she still had two. :D
And ever since DD was born, she and I have always had one week away without DW, and look forward to it every year.

Last month on the Pride I was in the mexican buffet line. I grabbed my tray, silverware and bowl (for my wonton soup). I moved along the line and filled my plate...when I got to the end (the mexican section is only about 10 ft long)I realize I forgot to put the soup in my bowl..I turn around and walk back to the soup..about 5 people back in line and ask the gentleman if I can squeeze in front of him and grab some soup as I forgot to fill the bowl..he was kind enough to actually fill it for me. Afterward, heading back to my table, I thought..damn, I just cut in line like the people I talk about..lol.
You're in line? You can always go back. I'd help you as well! :)

You want something? BACK OF THE LINE!

Thank you X 3.
Another chance to reminisce when this resurfaces every now and then. Got my 2010 visit in!

I would assume the cruiselines are looking out for the stupid.
DW was 5 months pregnant. We checked with OBGYN, who stated that the mid trimester was the safest time to travel.
Why a woman would want to jeopardize the life of themselves or their child if something goes wrong, and there are no facilities on board, or in the third world country they may be visiting.
Hearing they would want to hide it? WOW!

Oh, good God. I thought they let Steve back in.
Cruising with small children....why?
