  1. Wow.I want one but I would feel like I was wasting it for only two people.Maybe raffle off some spots?LOL

Most only hold 2. We are a family of 3, so we had to put our 7 year old in the adjoining cabin. It was like having a 2 bedroom suite, with 2 bathrooms.

  2. As a cruiser of 20+ voyages mainly in the Caribbean, my wife and I were discussing where we would prefer NOT to get off the ship. We pretty much settled on Tortola as somewhat blah with the assertive hawkers bothering us and not much to do.

Just curious what you did during your visit to draw this conclusion?

There's only one port in all my cruises where I did not get off. That was San Juan, as it was raining, had been there many times before, and we were only there from 3pm to 11 PM.

The cover was pulled over the pool, so we swam and relaxed.

  3. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the Steakhouse Guidelines:

    From Carnival's website:

There is a nominal charge of $30 per person for dinner.

The $30 fee includes an appetizer, entrée, desert and the wait staffs' gratuity.

Optional additional gratuities may be extended in cash or to the guest's Sail & Sign Account.

Reservation fee does not include bar service such as wine, liquor, soda and bottled water.

Guests can request a table anytime between 6 PM and 9:30 PM.

Requesting your table at least two weeks prior to your sail date is recommended.

Requested dates and times will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.

If requested time is full, the next available time slot will be assigned.

Please allow 2 ½ hours for your dining experience.

Dress code requires that men wear jackets on the 'Cruise Elegant' nights of the cruise.

    All dining rooms are smoke-free.

Steakhouses are only available on Conquest-class, Spirit-class and Dream-class ships.

  4. I know this review is from last year but I just wanted to thank you for it!

Also did your daughter like the cruise and did she participate in any if the youth activites?

You're welcome! When it pops up, I end up looking at the pictures again myself, just to reminisce. ;)

She loved the cruise. It was her 9th, so she's become quite the veteran. In fact, we've been in the city this past week and doesn't understand why we aren't getting on a ship! We went to the Top of the Rock yesterday, and both Bayonne and the NY piers are blocked from view. But we did see the NCL Dawn from a street view, and then a brilliant sunset.

And no, she didn't participate in the youth activities. 5 days goes by so fast, she never gets up to OA at all. :)

  5. LOL.

If I think hard enough, I MIGHT remember what I had for dinner last night. :D

But, no, I didn't save any menus, but I do know formal night was the second day (1st full day at sea), so you shouldn't plan for that night.

We've yet to eat at Potofino's. Looking at the menu while waiting for DW or DD to pee, nothing's ever struck my fancy. Add a <13 y/o DD, and decision is written for us.

  6. Great review Mr. Pete :). I loved your pictures, especially of the sunset - I don't know where I was but I totally missed that one! Now I am depressed ;). It's something about this cruise, I have no idea what I was doing most of the time but I know I was always busy! For example, I can not for the life of me remember what I did on the first at-sea day. No clue. My first full day of being married and I can't even remember it ;).

    Anyways, thanks for the blow-by-blow!

    Until next time!

Thanks Emily! Loved looking at all yours as well!

Pete...what was your view of Formal Night??

Do we pack the full length dress & Tux or should we skip it?

    Angel....

Love your new pic in your siggie! Is that from the EOS??

  7. Pete,

Despite express being a horrible and frustrating option, it will still be my best option if I have to get off the ship as soon as possible for an 11:30 flight right?

Quite possibly yes. But they do ask that anyone with a flight before 12:30 make themselves known as well. There are also a limited amount of express slots open.

I was in my car at 9, and home before 10.
