  1. Hi! So we leave in about 18 days! Wooooo! My friend and I (her first time cruising) are usually very prepared and love to check every detail. We have both been trying not to look at weather forecasts lol. I know it's more than 2 weeks out and things change. My question for weather savvy people - how far out is too far out to check weather? Also is there a site that checks at sea weather? My last cruise I checked ahead of time but we got slammed with a terrible storm with big gusts and serious swells resulting in my husband never cruising again lol. Not much I can do about it at this point but I'd love to know if I'm missing out on some good accurate forecast sites.

  2. If you come into Penn Station, NY you will see military with rifles all over the place. This is just the world we live in. I'm a total wimp and scared of 'seedy' places and I felt safe at my resort in Jamaica and when I walked around Mobay from a cruise. I would never venture off and the presence of armed police actually comforts me. However, if I saw a travel warning about a town I was going to I would not chance it. I'm very cautious though.

  3. So the flu is getting pretty widespread where I am. People are wearing masks in grocery stores, trains, etc. I've only gotten the flu shot once due to lack of insurance. I have insurance now and am thinking this would be a great idea. I almost ALWAYS get sick after taking a plane and even though I wash my hands and use the hand sanitizer I still would hate to get sick on or before my vacay. I took microbiology in college so I know that you don't get the flu from the flu shot (killed virus, not live, impossible to transmit from shot) so I'm not worried about that aspect lol. But I also realize when they create the vaccine they can only make an educated guess at which strains will be in the population so they aren't always effective. How many others will be getting their flu shot this year before cruising?

  4. I'm a small adult that shared a room with my older parents to cut costs on a family cruise they have always wanted to do. I have to say the Pullman bed was great! It took up no room as it was over the main bed and I loved being able to have an amazing view from above of the porthole at night. I found it comfy and a fun experience.

  5. Hi all! So I'm getting the deluxe bev package for our 5 day 4 night this February. I had read a review from someone on this ship that said Starbucks was included. The small print says it is not. Which is the case? Also does my bev package include coco cay? We are getting a bungalow and I wanted to make sure alcohol would be covered. Thanks!

Also I realized only recently this doesn't have a royal promenade which luckily I hadn't played up too much to my friend. Does it have Ben and Jerry's though? Johnny Rockets?

  6. I am currently on Enchantment for the 3 night out of Miami. I, too, read all the negative reviews but took them with a grain of salt so to speak. This is our fifth cruise (first out of Miami - others have all been out of Northeast). So far, everything has been amazing. We have enjoyed CHOPS for dinner last night, Windjammer for lunch yesterday and today and heading to dining room tonight for dinner. Selections in the WJ have been fresh, tasty and hasn’t been an issue getting a table. The crew is friendly, courteous and really seem to be happy. Passengers have been pleasant as well. We easily found a couple of chairs by the pool and saw very little chair hogging going on, granted no one was really in the pool because the water is super cold. Hot tubs are rocking though! The vibe on the ship is that everyone is having a good time, lots of activity options to choose from and a party vibe going on. I don’t really see much in the way of things needed repair or broken but am also not actively seeking that out. I will post a complete review when I return home but wanted to share so you can plan to enjoy yourself rather than worry about the negative reviews. I would not hesitate to book another cruise on Enchantment again!

Thank you so much for this review!! Awesome!

It rained the entire week of my Enchantment cruise in October. The crew worked hard to make sure everyone was being entertained and was happy. I really felt sympathy for them. Entertainment worked particularly hard the day we had to skip Coco Cay. I don't think I got to sit on the balcony one time. We decided to eat in WJ the last night and I was really surprised at how nice it was at night.

Sorry for the weather you had! I'm nervous about that in February too.. its good to know the staff is ready!

  7. You guys are the best! I knew I could count on my fellow ccers to get me out of that negative place!

I checked out the actual bars and stuff and am excited! We want to take boleros lessons for sure! We will hit karaoke every night its available. Please someone tell me they have a sing along piano night?? I had no idea of the huge pool deck and the solarium looks awesome! I booked chops for lunch on boarding day to get her in tbe spirit! Do they not have a johnny rockets on this ship?

    Thanks!!

  8. So Ive sailed Sovereign, Radiance, Freedom, Explorer and Independence and will be on Enchantment next month. So far Radiance was my favorite! All the glass and those beautiful elevators make for gorgeous sightseeing. I also loved that it was small enough that The Quest was in a small space that everyone played. The staff was more personable and it was just very memorable. If my best friend likes this upcoming cruise we are planning an Alaskan cruise next year or 2020. I so hope Radiance keeps sailing it!

  9.

    Thanks! That looks wild!

I first heard about it on another social media site and they showed pics. At one point it looked like it was leaning to the right! I don't think I would want to cruise that route in winter or early spring. Wasn't it Anthem that was tossed around last March during a horrible storm?

What route did it do? Last year in January we were on Independence and hit a tropical storm. Terrifying! I really thought we would list over night!

  10. So we leave on Feb 12 for 4 nights to Nassau, Coco Cay and Key West. My bestie is coming and its her first cruise ver. We chose this one due to schedule an port. We have been talking all day about it so I figured Id check some reviews to feed my excitement. Literally every review in December is terrible. This ship just came out of drydock so Im surprised that every review said soda machines, some elevators, ice cream machines were all out of order frequently. People also complained about cleanliness, especially windows. As well most reported disappointing food and service.

If you go on to the November reviews most people were really happy. Good food, good service, clean.... what the heck? I don't believe that so many people posting similar experiences (both months) can be a coincidence. Could there be an all new staff due to drydock? How does the food take such a turn? New kitchen staff? I would assume things would be serviced in drydock, am I wrong?

I realize these are all just opinions but have any recent cruisers enjoyed after drydock?
