I wouldn't focus on these...much has changed since these menus were used. We sailed on KDAM in Feb/March...I don't recall those phrases being on the menu then, and the menus we saw were different in a good number of ways.

Yes, it certainly looks like much has changed!!
Looking at their cc thread and also the  blog done by theinsidecabin.com, the recent Zuiderdam menus show very few references to the “mystery seafood of the day”. The itinerary included Hawaii and SouthPacific ports, and many of the fish dishes reflect these locales. They’ve included very clear pictures of 35 mdr menus on their website and it was an interesting read.

I guess I spoke too soon.  For some reason, I had to log in to the Navigator app on my iPad (I've always just been able to tap on it and *poof*, I'm in), and now the place where the menus appear is gone.   Grrr.   We enjoyed sitting at our kitchen table having dinner, reading the menu and deciding what we'd have as an alternate to what was on our plates.

That’s the same as my iPad, just a sample menu comes up, for a single evening in the mdr. ( and it never changes) There are menus for Pinnacle, Canaletto, but not the daily ones that used to come up for mdr and Lido.

  3. I had many types of cold fruit soup growing up, Scandinavian heritage. They were primarily berry based,  redcurrant or rhubarb added for variety. Cornstarch or various sizes of tapioca to thicken. Delicious in the summer, maybe with a dollop of whipped cream or croutons. There is another kind that my parents still make, and I refuse to partake, it’s made by soaking dried prunes, apricots, and raisins, cinnamon sticks. To each, their own.
