  1. "Cheap" is a relative term. There's people who think paying $3,000 for 2 people in a balcony cabin is "cheap". You already paid the $16 per day in gratuities which is $224 for 2 people on a 7 day sailing. You paid another $138.60 per person for the "free" drink package plus another $49 per person per day for the "free at sea plus" which comes out to another $686 for 3 people on a 7 night sailing. So right there you have about $1,200 in fees and upgrade costs. And you still don't get free room service! So either you get nickel and dimed for everything on the ship or you still get nickel and dimed (on less things) and you pay $1,200 to NCL up front. Compare that to what MSC and Celebrity charge and you'll see just why NCL is a ripoff!
  2. Many of you have read that the Escape cancelled the September 12th thru the October 2nd sailings due to dry dock repairs. The letter sent out by NCL gives September 8th as a date but the September 2nd sailing is scheduled to last until the 12th. Many have contacted NCL and there's been a million different answers given by NCL reps. Some say the September 2nd sailing is going to be cancelled, some say it's all good, some say it will be shortened etc. I'd say that i'm shocked by the total lack of communication by NCL but we've all seen this movie before. Does anyone actually know what's going on? What shipyard is the Escape going to? Is there a way to verify the day the Escape is expected at the shipyard? Also, some people have said they used September 8th as the date because the Escape picks up passengers in Malta on that itinerary. Can anyone confirm or deny that the Escape actually picks up passengers in the middle of the regular itinerary which has Civitavecchia as the embarkation port?
