The MSC site says they are subject to English law. They are in breach of contract. Tell your TA to start legal proceedings against them.
+1
You might also consider involving ABTA. The membership number for MSC into ABTA is Y1379.

they will 100% be back - perhaps revamping the rates / packages - time will tell...
Thanks and I hope you're right, but I can only guess any revamp on rates will be upwards. :(

Under MSC's T & Cs, the change to your cruise is defined as 'significant' as more than 50% of the itinerary has changed. In the event of a significant change, MSC are contractually obliged to inform you as soon as reasonably possible. There are four alternatives that they have to offer and these and other conditions can be found here :
https://www.msccruises.co.uk/en-gb/Terms-Conditions.aspx
Then scroll down to 'Booking Changes Effected by the Company'.
Are you happy that your agent is doing enough? They should be all over this and chasing it up.
It would be interesting to know which particular cruise and date you originally booked and what the new arrangements are.

I put a couple of drinks packages and the 4 restaurant dining package in a shopping basket for our Divina cruise next February but did not pay yet. Reading that the dining packages have been removed from Seaside, I went back to check on ours and all the dining packages have been removed on Divina too. Now I am kicking myself for not paying at the time.
Has anyone heard why MSC have done this or if they are likely to reappear, maybe in a different format or price?

I wonder why MSC make these upgrades and why upgrade from balcony to YC, rather than balcony to suite and suite to YC?
Whatever their reason it can certainly benefit them in the long term. I once had a problem with a booking on Virgin Atlantic and took it up with the Customer Service Desk in London. Without asking I was given an immediate upgrade from economy to Upper Class and was hooked. Since then I have always booked Premium Economy when crossing the Atlantic. Sadly, Upper or First Class are well outside the budget!
Now then MSC, are you listening? I'm booked on Divina in a Bella balcony on 25 February. Any chance of an upgrade to YC please, pretty please with a cherry on top?
