  1. We've traveled for up to two months in all kinds of climates with a carry on and a personal item each. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.

  2. We always take anti vomiting drugs, anti diarrhea drugs, and an antibiotic with us as well as a variety of OTC drugs plus extra of our prescription drugs in case of delays. We do this on ALL trips, not just cruises. It gives us a feeling of being prepared just in case.

  3. I think many folks are missing the point. If the cabin was as noisy and terrible as the op described, ncl knows it, probably has had numerous complaints, yet still places unsuspecting cruisers in that room.

  5. I put my jewelry in various size baggies. I get tiny ones on eBay. Then I take all the baggies and put them into a gallon Baggie. I like this way of packing since I can see exactly what I want with a single glance.

I do the same thing with meds and toiletries. So easy to see and pull out what I want.

  6. We have cruised about 150 days and never taken a ship's excursion. Being on a bus with 50 other people is not our idea of a good time. We have been on maybe 10 private excursions with one or two other couples, but mostly we grab a cab at the port.

We do a lot of reading before we leave on the ports of call board and on trip advisor so we pretty much know what we want to see. We have rented cars on some of the less populated Caribbean islands but in Europe we prefer public transportation.

I suggest you do whatever you feel comfortable doing.

  7. I have to chuckle whe I read threads like these. I have seen tons of folks in Europe wearing white tennis shoes and most of them were NOT speaking English. And many men from around the world wear socks with sandals. We lived in Hawaii for 11 years and saw it all the time.

I would say that Europeans tend to dress a bit more formally - except for the young people.

So unless you dress in an extremely eccentric way, no one will know or care where you are from.
