  1. Sooo, being brand new to Carnival, and having no experience with PVP, I called the PVP line. Sadly, that service is not available until AFTER I sail....😭 But once I've sailed, I'll have one assigned. Looking forward to that. Still trying to sort out if I'll be "loyal to Royal" or "Crazy over Carnival"...

  2. If you're in port from 800-500 and back on board by 400, that still gives you 8 hours of possible drinking if you crash by midnight. Easily enough time to get your monies worth on Cheers. It can be done with only 5 drinks at Alchemy Bar, 3 before dinner from 530-700, 2 after dinner from 900-1000. That's 1/2 hour per drink.

Considering that the plan for the ports is gonna be somewhat boozy, idk....that's probably a tall order....:p

  3. Hi all, going on my first Carnival cruise in April and was curious about drink specials they run. On my first cruise on RCI, they sold 10 drink cards for $80. Because this cruise is a port intensive 8day, the Cheers package doesn't make sense to me. Does Carnival offer drink cards or other promotions like RCI?

    Thanks

  4. Love brilliance of the seas , we love suites, but also had a great time when we started cruising in small inside cabins.

George, I started in ocean view on my first cruise with Empress. It was a little small, but certainly comfortable enough considering the limited time we spent in it. I found the whole experience wonderful. Good food, perhaps not gourmet, but tasty and appealing to look at pretty much whenever I wanted. Attentive, smiling staff working hard to ensure everything was clean, safe, and enjoyable. Entertainment that was varied and we'll produced. All this for less than a comparable land based vacation. Plus we went and enjoyed port visits to warm, friendly islands while everyone at home froze their keisters off. I pray I never get too old, tired, or jaded to enjoy being on these remarkable ships, travelling to exotic places with fun loving, happy people!

  5. Officially down to 6months on the count down until my second cruise. Yeah, yeah, I'm not in a suite, I'm barely C&A gold, it's only a 5 day....who friggin cares? I'm going on cruise to places I've never been, gonna enjoy my paltry lil' ocean view and relax with my wife. Super excited!

  6. You can freely go. When you reserve you actually put your ship and arrival date.

It could be they are sold out on the day you wanted to go, or the day someone else tried to go. I recommend getting reservations as soon as you know that is where you want to go.

I checked one of the ship traffic websites, found out Cozumel will have seven in port on the day of my visit. Booked right away!;p;p

  7. Guess the enthusiasm based on specific ship/itinerary has a lot to do with it. I know as a first timer, there wasn't anything about the ship/itinerary I wasn't keenly interested in. My wife and myself make friends easily enough, so meeting new folks on the ship won't be an issue. We are both in our 50's so going with friends and other family just hasn't been an option yet. I do get a lot of the "I go on cruises to veg and not deal with people" vibe. Fair enough.
