We sailed the Sun several years ago. It is a nice ship however there are some places that are a little awkward to get to as a result of a previous retro-fit.. There are times when you have to take a crazy route to get form one place to another. I recall that if we were forward on one deck and wanted to be aft on that deck we had to walk to midship, go down a deck, walk part of the way after, then come back up to the previous deck. It took some time to figure out how to get some places.
Are you referring to the cabins on Deck 6A that can only be accessed by stairs from Deck 7? Other than that I don’t recall having to go up and down a deck except for the sun decks on 13.

I ONLY travel on the older non-breakaway classes.
I’m still mad that they sold the Majesty.

We are planning to sail on the Sun to the Bahamas in a month. Is she completely renovated? Is everything open and working properly?
Not sure what you mean by “ working properly” but ......
YES!!!!!
Just off the 18 day repositioning cruise from Seattle to Port Canaveral.

We travel with the Sun to South America. We would also like to know what the ship looks like now. Are there really no pictures after the time in dry dock?
For whoever asked, all new mattresses.
I’ll post pictures after I get home. I only have 250 minutes of internet and don’t want to waste them.
Maybe all the CC cruisers are too busy and having too much fun to post. A large group of us are meeting daily to play LCR and other games.
Overall I’m pleased and happy with just about everything.

It was 830 so about 2.5 hours out. But we were docked in Victoria by 0630.
It was a medical emergency in the MDR and the medical team was there quickly and got her out of there.
We were all very sorry to see it. She’d only been on the ship for a few hours and were still within sight of land. How disappointing for her and her family, but I hope she is stable and recovers.

I guess NCL hasn't learned their lesson.. We are waiting to board the Sun after the dry dock.. Got here about noon. Got checked in fast.. Whoo Hoo, but wait got to the number lady and she was out of numbers already.. We walked into the room at 12:15 and they were just boarding the first three numbers.. The boarding process has been a mess. No one to tell people where to go except one guy calling out numbers then getting mad because the line is backed up with people without numbers.. All they need is one or two people when you enter the room to tell you to sit if you don't have a number.. It's almost 2 and still haven't boarded.. Been out of Seattle 3 times before this and never had a problem like this.. Oh well not going to let it ruin my cruise.. Hope it gets better though, a lot of upset people is not a good way to start a cruise

DO SHUT UP.
We all waited like you did and we’re all on the ship now enjoying everything new and shiny. What a horribly negative person you are. First cruise out of Seattle with all new temporary employees that need some practice and experience.
DO TRY to enjoy this cruise. I know I am.
If you continue with this attitude you can disembark in SF.

Same as the US. Stay out of the ghettos. Mind your business. You will be fine.

I have brought my dogs an incredible 8 times. They never seemed upset with any rough weather!

You have some very lucky doggies. They’ve cruised more than me!

I can't believe that this person doesn't know what shoes to take on a cruise.
How on earth do they survive making everyday decisions.
That was so snarky I had to double check that I hadn’t logged into the Rick Steves travel forum.

Sorry, but OP sounds like another person trying to justify shafting the staff.

Really enjoyed your review. Sorry about your drive back but that’s typical for traveling back north that weekend. But it sounds like it was worth it!!!

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully I’ll get the stuff that doesn’t pack well pressed that first evening and won’t need it again. I’m not taking this 18 day cruise to do household chores!!!

The self serve laundry is disappearing fast.
Hope they leave it on the Amsterdam since that’s the only ship they use for the world cruise.

I’m picky about my laundry. I don’t want things washed in hot water and not sorted by darksand lights and some things need to be done on a delicate or perm press cycle. Ugh!!! Sigh. I was thinking about switching to HAL.

That's definitely an option as well. These garages have overnight parking for up to 30 days. However, the big question is whether they fill up on a weekday morning. Quincy has 2500+ spaces and Adams has 1100+. Alewife has 2600+ spaces and is usually full between 8:30-9:00 am.
Good point. Get there early. I’ll just drive up to that area the day before and get a hotel close to Quincy garage. No sleeping in for us!!!!
